About us

Yup. We changed our name from Rapid Rooter Plumbing to Rapid First Plumbing. Why? First of all, because our clients have called us first since 1974; And, because we are not just a rooter company. We are a full service plumbing company. As Rapid Rooter Plumbing we’ve replaced your water heaters, sewer lines, toilets, and have been elbow deep to keep things flowing. Since you’ve called us first for so long, we simply changed our name to Rapid First Plumbing. Same company, same team, different name, and we look forward to providing you with the same great service.

After trying everything I could to unclog our drain line, including running a hose all the way down and having the city check the main line, I called Rapid Rooter and they responded immediately. They not only ran the snake down from the access hole (where we knew it ws clogged), they ran it up the pipe and found some root intrusion that was adding to the problem. Rapid Rooter is now inserting a cleanout access to the line, which I will evaluate in a separate report.

This is at least the third time I have used Rapid Rooter, and each time they have responded quickly for a fair price. Last year they came back after hours because our main drain reclogged several days after they first cleared it, and they did not charge us even though the second clog was much further down the line than the first call. I don't know if there are cheaper companies in the area, but Rapid Rooter has provided quality professional service each time we have used them.

Kitchen drain was clogged. Used the list to locate Rapid Rooter. Telephone receptionist was very polite and scheduled the appointment immediately. Technician arrived within time frame, and performed the work rapidly. All in all, a good experience, however the price for the drain cleaning liquid was high.
Response from Rapid First Plumbing
"First of all, we sincerely thank you for taking the time to recognize our dedicated team at Rapid Rooter. It is our pleasure to be able to provide service, and to have the opportunity to share positive comments with the team who provided service is one of the things we enjoy most. In response to your concern over the expense of our eco friendly drain care product, each bottle contains 64 treatments at a current cost of 77 cents per treatments. One of the ways we partner with you to maintain a healthy sanitary sewer system, is to send monthly email reminders on how to treat your drains. From experience, we know when committing to a monthly schedule of drain care treatment, the results are tangible. A reduction in odor, and increasing time between cleanings, are two of the benefits of a regular preventative drain care schedule. Again, thank you for your confidence in Rapid Rooter. We look forward to being your go-to company for all your plumbing service needs. Sharon Blomquist"

clogged kitchen drain, the tech was fine.We were told we had a 30 day warranty,if it stopped up again, they would clear it.The wife put the same thing down the drain/disposer,thinking wrongly, it was OK.So she called Rapid Rooter back and honestly explained what happened. The woman laughed at her,and said it would be full fare again. We won't be calling them ever.
Response from Rapid First Plumbing
"We have attempted to locate this client by name in our records, but have been unsuccessful in doing so. Since we service physical addresses, we are also unable to locate this job by a P.O. Box, or by reference of a complaint received within our office. We are also unable to locate a record of any job that was done during this time with a pricing structure that matches or is close to the amount referenced. That being said, it does not necessarily mean that we did not service this client, just that we are able to locate with the information provided in this report. Certainly, we would never want to leave such an impression on our clients. We do want to thank this member for writing about the service performed. Our clients are the best resource to help us monitor our performance. Rapid Rooter makes every effort to approach complaints and concerns with a mind towards the fact that our clients are our best referral network. Rapid Rooter has been serving the greater Sacramento area since 1974, and certainly, the company would not still be providing service if it was our policy to treat our clients so unprofessionally. While we would like to profess perfection, it would be arrogant to be so presumptuous; but we do take pride in honorably doing all we can, to correct any action that is substandard to the level of service we feel our clients can expect. We regret that we have been unable to locate this client and discuss their experience."

Our toilets and drains were backing up. Zac came out late on a Saturday night and assessed whether or not we had a clean out that could be easily accessed or whether he would have to pull a toilet to clean the sewer line. After he determined that he would have to pull the toilet, he said it would $495 to do it then or he could come back in the morning and save us some money. When he returned on Sunday morning, he pulled the toilet and successfully cleaned the line. He did an excellent job and cleaned up everything.

Came very quickly (most important) as promised. Solved the problem, very expensive for the problem involved and probably could have cut us a break to be fair.

This was the second plumber in 3 days for the same problem. First one did not warantee the work, so i called Rapid Rooter because my mom had used them. I have only lived in the house for 1 week. I have an old house with some unique (perhaps not quite correct) plumbing installations. The clean out from the house out the main is only 2" which is too small to really get the roots out (roots in the main is the reason for blockage). So they said they could pull the toilet and clean from there. However when they pulled the toilet, the line from the toilet went backwards (not toward the main) and they couldnt get the snake to go the right direction. The tech (new to the job) called his supervisor and they both worked for a few hours. Luckily i was not paying by the hour. The toilet access did not work, so they trie a second 4"cleanout that is halfway between the house and the City's main. However that 4" cleanout only runs one direction (toward the City) and the problem was thought to be between the house and the 4" cleanout. They disassembled the root cutter, and essentially just ran the snake wire up the wrong way (by getting it to make a U turn, they couldnt leave the blades on though). While the drain was cleared, i have no faith that it will remain so (since this is the second time in a week i've had to have it cleared). So basically i paid $300 (on top of the $200 paid to the previous plumber) for them to poke a 1/4 inch snake up my sewer. They said they would "warantee" the work, and would come back and go through my upstairs toilet next time. I dont know why they didnt do that before they left. Invoice said "all warantee work to go through the top boss" I dont know if that is good or bad...They also wouldnt give me a free estimate for replacing the line without spending $200 for them to camera the line. If I'm going to be spending $4000 - $5000 on a sewer line replacement, i think a free estimate is in order.

I had purchased a new faucet a while ago but hadn't gotten around to getting it installed. The old one started leaking, so it was nice they sent someone out within an hour. The tech was friendly, but got right to work.

They saved us seven hundred dollars because another company wanted to put something in that we already had. They did a very thorough job. They were very professional. They cleaned up very well after themselves. I would recommend them to other people.

I placed a call, which was answered by a real person. She determined that Jesse would be able to get there in about an hour to an hour and a half. She called later to confirm that he was on the way. Jesse arrived and evaluated the situation (drains and toilets were backing up in the house), gave a cost for the service - which was agreed to, and proceeded to do the work. We verified that everything was back to normal, Jesse explained the warranty, I paid, and we were done. No muss, no fuss.

It went extremely well. He was here within 45 minutes of my call for service. He wore protectors over his shoes in order not to track in any dirt from outside. He was very polite and professional. If I needed any plumbing work at my house again, I would definitely call Rapid Rooter and ask for Joel.

Had a bad clog that a regular snake could not unclogged. Had several plumbers give us outrageous quotes, but Rapid was reasonable and quick. They were also able to come within a couple of hours of our call.

The Rapid Rooter guy arrived within half an hour and took care of the problem quickly. Very courteous. He explained what he was doing as he went along. He also informed us that our house had originally been plumbed for two sinks. House was built in '59 and we purchased it in '73. That could be part of the problem as the kitchen sink has always backed up every couple of years. The price was reasonable for a nighttime rate, but note, it included a senior discount. Believe their regular price for night time/overtime was $180. Overall, based on the categories given, Rapid Rooter met our need quickly and as affordably as one would expect for an overtime situation.
