Description of Work: Called them to check on air conditioning unit. they found the spot were the freon is leaking and was ablr to fix it. I signed up for their heating and air conditioning program. They make sure that I am notified every 6 months to make an appointment to have the heater or air conditioning checked.

Description of Work: Tech troubleshot intermittent furnace ignition. He showed me the problem on the control board. Because of their tiered pricing system, he gave me an estimate based on the average time to completion. He came back the next day and worked quickly to get it under the estimate. It was still expensive, but not unreasonable for the work done on a 10-year old furnace. I was pleased with the outcome and would use Bell Bros. again.

Description of Work: Complete heating and air install, prompt removal of old system, ducting checked. Our system was original to house, 20 years old, and had cracks in the furnace housing, old plenum was done as "short cut". Technicians(2) were on time and spent 12 hrs on install because our attic is very small and only one person could be up there. They wore shoe covers and worked with me about what room I could keep the cats in. I was pleased with how the day went.

Description of Work: Inflated the cost if an HVAC system and the need to replace my existing system. Yes it's old but still has some life in it. I had three additional local companies provide quotes. All were less experience and all said there was no immediate need to replace...although |one was just as shady as bell brothers.

Description of Work: My electric heat pump, AC went out. It was 36 years old. I called Bell Bros. to see if they could get it going. The service man was here for 4 hours trying to make it work. I commend their efforts trying to get my old machine to work during the service call. It was recommended I consider replacing the unit. A sales guy came by later to give me an estimate. They would not leave a written proposal, calling the price information they showed me "proprietary". I was not about to take the first estimate I could get. I had 5 other contractors come by to leave estimate proposals. Bell Bros. was the highest estimate, for the same work, same size 2-ton 13 SEER unit, just remove the old and replace with new using existing 36 yr old ducts, same 36 yr old elbow/hood connection on the roof. I think they are good for same day service calls on newer units, maybe some maintenance, but not a new install. Unless you have a few thousand dollars to burn, and want a new install almost immediately, I would recommend to shop around a bit more. I got a new Trane 14 SEER unit, with new duct system, new roof curb connection for $2300 less than their bid to just replace the old unit, and I get a $500 SMUD rebate. That is something I would not get with the 13 SEER system they proposed to install. I will also get a $500 rebate for the new ducts.

Description of Work: We have a maintenance contact for heating and air with them. The last time they came they checked the air ducts, and the filters and checked for leaks. We have been using them for a year.

Description of Work: This was a routine check up of my heating system. I subscribed to their annual care program. The company called me on Wednesday, reminded me that my check up was overdue and scheduled it for the following Friday, two days later. The technician was on time, went right to work, removed and washed the filters, etc, checked the attic stuff, replaced the now dry filters, etc. and was gone in very short time. He reported to me the condition of the equipment, filters, etc. He covered his shoes every time he entered the house and was most cheerful and happy to explain system stuff.

I continue to be amazed at the good quality of service Bell gives. My air was not working properly. The service man, Brent, came out the same day. Checked all aspects of my concerns and gave me ideas on how best to make my house available to good air conditioning. He did not only solve the problem technically but gave me information so that it would not happen again.
