Bell Brothers Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning

I currently have a seven year contract with Bell Brothers, who put in the A/C and the heater. I have them come out once a year. I purchased a ten year warranty for the air conditioner and the heater. I would give them an A on everything with the exception of the punctuality. They give you a window of opportunity, so you can't pinpoint that they're gonna be there at 8:00. It's between the hours of 8 and 12 or 8 and 2, stuff like that. My thing is always really easy because I have everything under warranty. Annually I have those things done so that when people come in, it's just a routine check.because things are not breaking down. Everything is good with them with the exception of that window of opportunity. I probably should have maybe shopped around more and I would have done better. This unit was $10,000. I had gone to the fair and they were at the fair. I got the business card and then I called and someone came out, so they did a salesman thing. I think probably when they go through Angie's List it may be a little bit cheaper than when they're just doing cold calling kind of stuff, and $10,000 three years ago was sort of high. I will use them again, at least through the contract and I had ten years, and I have seven years to go. I think that there are other carriers out there that are probably pretty comparable in price. I think one of the reasons why they're probably a little bit more expensive outside of Angie's List is that they're advertising on TV and those TV spots are not cheap.

Service man did a competent job, but was rather pushy on signing me up for long term contract

The plumbers were very professional and prompt but I still have a leaking air conditioner. To be fair, they did tell me that since they could not see where the AC unit drained too, they couldn't confirm that the problem was fixed. Why I won't hire them again is that 10 minutes of the 20 minute visit maybe was spent undoing the drain pipe and blowing something down it to attempt to unclog it. The rest of the time was spent pitching their service membership. And the 10 minutes of service amounted to 300 dollars. Seems steep to me. If we have to get more involved with this repair, I worry that the charges will be exceptionally high despite some service membership had we joined. After looking again at other plumbers on Angies List, I think I can find someone who will work better with me instead of following their corporate script on upselling and fees.

They came out to my house and broke my AC/Heater that was working fine. They broke the fill nozzle off and 600 dollars of Freon went into the atmosphere. They said it was going bad anyways and left saying it needed to be replaced and would cost around 12 THOUSAND DOLLARS! They did not offer any resolution or compensation.

Very good installation, one that will still look good in 25 year. Team performed above expectations.

It went well. They show up when they say they are going to. They have a good prices and they have good technicians not just sales people.

I use Bell Brothers. I’ve used them a couple of times over the number of years. They could have serviced it a little bit quicker. I have used them again.

Price came in around the same as everyone else, but they guarantee their estimate for the job, which means EVERYTHING when you have a 1952 home with out-of-code surprises behind every wall. Mitch really knew his stuff, was super low pressure, *thorough*, flexible, and easy to work with. Financing was a breeze. Didn't walk in like he already had the job like others do. They're large well-established company allows them to offer all kinds of guarantees on labor and parts. They were prompt and quick. Everything went just as Mitch said it would. Nobody likes shelling out for repairs, but if you have to, nobody will make you feel more comfortable than Bell Bros.

The crew was on time and very professional. The were respectful in my home, and cleaned up after each day's work.

I would use this company again. We have actually used them for several other repairs and things.

I do have a maintenance contract. If I have a service call they respond quick. We have been using them for 2 and a half years.

Nick Camuso, the Plumber did an excellent job installing and thoroughly reviewing all details of the job and options available. He was very prompt, neat and professional. "B" ratings apply to Office staff and their communication only, which needs work.

The work they did was good. I would say they are a bit on the pricey side.

I'm in their club and includes maintenance twice a year. Because I had someone come out for heating a couple months earlier, I didn't need to have the filters replaced. At least they were honest about it. I have recommended them.

I am in their club for maintenance. I had a toilet that was flushing by itself. They fixed that but I had to pay for the part.

They were on time, friendly, professional, worked efficiently and got it done in one day. And they were not afraid of my German Shepherds who were in the kitchen with me most of the day :) I especially liked the packet of information and forms they provided with very clear instructions and explanations of what work was going to be done, what steps/order of work, and what I needed to do after they were done, e.g. city inspection was required for anyone having this work done. They explained the new thermostat as well.

It was excellent. They had a special on and it was $69. Besides Freon it's never had any repair or anything. They were perfect. They were excellent. I highly recommend them. They are very popular in Elk Grove. A lot of people use them. They are very nice family, very professional, local. It took about an hour and a half.

Long time Bell Bros. customer. Heat stopped working on a Saturday. Called Bell Bros. and they were able to get a tech out the same day. Tech was on time and professional. Diagnosed problem. Given age of system tech suggested I consider replacing system instead of repairing. Tech provided me with two quotes (for two different types of systems) before leaving. I ended up getting quotes from two other companies for comparable systems from a higher rated manufacturer (Trane / American Standard). These quotes were substantially less (about 40% less) than the quotes from Bell Bros. Glad I spent the time to get additional quotes.

I think they're fine or I wouldn't do business with them. They put my system in and check it twice a year. They are really good with what they do. They are very thorough. the check up takes 45 minutes to an hour.

When 2 other companies failed multiple times to properly diagnose and fix my furnace, bell brothers got it right on the first try.

Efficiently, respectfully and in the time allotted for the task.

We got a brand new Trane, so we got the most state-or-the-art, most current unit, I think we also go it financed, we're paying for it on our escrow account, because we're financing it. I think the unit itself was maybe $10,000 or $12,000 and with the installation and everything, I think it ended up being close to $16 or $17,000. I thought it was too expensive, but my husband thought the price was reasonable. It was great. They were fantastic. They were knowledgeable. They were very clean. They were wonderful.

They are fair, stuff is expensive. Two people came out. It took about 2 ½ to 3 hours. They left the area very clean. I rated them overall “A” because they did what I wanted them to do and they did it well. They did all the other things as far as showing up on time, there trucks were out there. They were very clear on their pricing and everything else. They also weren’t bothered if I watched them. I kept an eye on what they were doing up on the roof.

They returned my call 10 hours after it was cleared by Armstrong Plumbing. Will never call again

It is the only company that I use right now. Expensive. I pay a monthly. I pay $14.95, so they come out twice a year.
