As stated it went very well. We have not had any repairs done yet, but his prices seemed quite fair and reasonable.
Description of Work: We requested a termite inspection not because we are selling, but just to be on the safe side since 4 years ago we had some termite activity. They showed up right at the schedule appointment time and conducted a thorough inspection. The written report was clear and professionally done. We paid only for the inspection, and we were not required to pay upfront. We were billed with the finished report.

I was not excited about dumping termite chemical into the ground near my house. I and I was not impressed with Orkin's cursory and knowledge-free "inspection". But after much investigation I concluded that I did indeed have a problem that could be solved only with chemicals. --- Owners John and Tracy actually seemed to know termites, they were able to identify some found in the home. Charlie was the installer, he was slow and careful. There was a problem with the grout Charlie used to re-seal the interior holes, but he came back to fix it. --- John was willing to use Altriset: a less toxic alternative to the standard Termidor. It was the first time he'd used it, but I understand now he keeps it available for customers who want it.
Description of Work: Chemical termite treatment, and later followup treatment.

Charles came out to do the work. He did not start right away, instead carefully looking in each area, and trying to determine where the termites had come up. His goal was not to treat and run, but to ensure the vulnerable areas of the house had proper coverage. He did not skimp, and in fact did much more than the minimum. McDonald agreed to use Altriset on this job, which is a lower toxicity chemical compared to the Termidor they usually use. Both would be even better (for a one-two-punch). The job was well done. Cleanup though was not a strong point. Outside it was fine, but on the interior slab we did have to come by afterward and clean. Charles was also missing some nozzles for the injection hose. ------------------ A month later a problem has come up. The method used to seal the chemical holes was totally insufficient. If you have work done with them, be sure they are using a new method. In our case the cracking holes got burred under a new wood floor. Radon, chemicals and even termites can come up these holes. Other contractors may have the same problem. See the photos with the review.
Description of Work: Termites had free reign in this house for decades, the former owner was 90 years old, and the house was filled with junk that obscured the damage. We needed serious termite work. It involved investigation also: just prior to our purchasing the house all the termite evidence was brushed away and covered with new baseboards, caulk, plaster and paint.
