They did an excellent job.

They were friendly and prompt. I haven't had the work done yet. I didn't end up going with Abril. I wasn't happy with them because it took a couple of months to send the person out here. They were very friendly when they got here, but they took a long time to come and then they took 3 months to write up the estimate. They seemed very professional.

Abril came and estimated a foam roof on our house. They seem well qualified and gave a good price. Another company (probably the best known) said bad things about them, but further research showed quite a good satisfaction record. We went with dura-foam at the last minute for a slightly better price, but had a couple minor problems. I would give abril a try if I were to have to do over. Our foam roof in general we've been very happy with.

They were quick, responsive, cleaned up after themselves well and more importantly did the job well! If I had another roof to replace, I would totally call them again. Due their excellent work though, I haven't had to.

Generally, it was a good job. The crew did it all in one day, power-washing in the morning, doing repairs in the afternoon, and recoating in the late afteroon. The power-washing caused some tense moments; Eichlers tend to have lots of places for water to intrude, and an clogged and overflowing downspout sent some water into the house. It cleaned up quickly, but it was still freaky to see. Exterior eaves cleanup afterwards with the power washer was similarly... eager. No water infiltration, but I had my worries. The resulting roof surface looks better than before. They cleaned the jobsite well afterwards. As an interesting contrast, we had the house exterior painted soon afterwards. Our painter had done a lot of Eichlers, and he was very paranoid about using the power-washer under the eaves to avoid getting water in. We had a great experience before and after. Richard came out to do the appraisal and was great about talking about what was good and bad with the existing roof, and explaining why it was time to recoat. This was a big deal for me; another foam roofer charges to have an inspection at a specific time, otherwise they stop by when they can and send you a bid by mail. The person doing that inspection missed a couple details that I'd specifically asked about, and I had a hard time getting answers to my questions. I much prefer the face-to-face approach.) We also found the skylight had been directed the wrong way so it bumped up against another roofline when opened, and they stopped by quickly to re-orient the skylight. The workmanship is great, and the roof looks as good as it did when it was first applied. Plan on repainting trim after recoating the roof - if the contractor does a good job, they should be making sure the edge of the roof is coated and protected. Also, check all your downspouts after the recoating - a lot of debris and dirt gets washed off the roof, and it can clog downspouts. We had one downspout clog and fill with water during the September rain, and had to remove it from the side of the house in the middle of a storm. We'd had the same thing happen the last time we re-roofed.

It is a small company so you get personal attention. I was very happy with the work they did.

Overall, the work went well. We had a small glitch when they were powerwashing the roof and water started flooding in through our leaky front door. Fortunately, I was home and able to stop the washing before it became a real flood. We haven't had any leaks in the roof during the past rainy winter. Overall, we are satisfied with their work, although now the white layer on the roof seems much more noticable. Be sure to bargain with these roofing companies. We were able to lower the cost by about 10% by doing it at the same time as our neighbors. They also agreed to meet another company's 10 year warranty period (as opposed to their regular 5 year warranty), and to haul away a sun room for a small additonal cost.
