Oscar's Washer & Dryer Repair

BUYER BEWARE! Very disappointed with ever aspect of service. I am going to try and keep it short, but basically I had this dryer for 8 years and it stopped producing hot air and I paid $268 plus $20 cash for nothing. I had a dryer that was miss diagnosed and was never fixed. Was told that that two sensors were bad, but when they were replaced it did not fix the issue. I was working from home and already paid the technician after he told me it was fixed, but before he left and after I paid the dryer was still not working and they left assuring me they would return to fix it. After about 3 trips dealing directly with the tech I called the office for a refund, but they said they would send the same tech back to fix the problem. OK this would be visit 4, meanwhile I still have no dryer after paying in full 3 weeks later, but finally he said he reset the sensor and the dryer worked for about 3 days then quit again. I then called again asked for a refund, but then I was blamed for breaking the dryer that was never fixed because I was told the sensor had to be reset due to a little lint in the filter. They said a little lint was the reason why it didn't work, but it never worked until the 4th visit. I asked if the issue is not resolved after this last 5th visit could I receive a refund and was told NO and again blamed for the unit breaking due to a little lint, which was never fixed. I swear I probably put about 4 loads before it broke again. In the end I hung up on them cancelled the appointnent and will be buying a new dryer. This was a complete waste of time and money! If I could give a double 0 for a review I would. In the end this was completely POOR service!! Nice repair with the screw on the bottom of my picture.

I contacted Oscar at 4:45 Wednesday evening and Johnnie arrived 11 AM Thursday to take care of my problem. He leveled the machine, checked the hose connections (which had been tinkered with during the move), cleaned the lint trap, and taught me how to get the machine to spin only and how and when to use the clean cycle. He also leveled my dryer and checked the lint filter air flow. Taught me a few things about my dryer I didn't know. Very thoughtful, helpful, and knowledgeable. Service call was $65, extra time and effort another $40. I felt like I got my money's worth.

Oscar returned my call right away on a Friday afternoon and made an appointment for first thing Monday morning. He was exactly on time. I was worried because my washing machine was smoking a bit after a heavy load and I was nervous about using it again. The first repairman I called wouldn't even come out and told me I needed a new machine. Oscar wanted to check it out. He was very thorough, spent time going over the machine and ran cycles to watch what happened and make sure there was no imminent danger of fire. Afterwards he assured me that the machine was safe to use and gave me a few tips on it's upkeep and load weights. His price was very fair and well worth having someone knowledgeable like Oscar assure me that everything was in good working order. I followed his advice and haven't had a problem since. I would recommend Oscar without hesitation.

Excellent. This is the 3rd time I have had Oscar out to work on my machines. I have a 4 unit building and each has a set of Whirlpool Duet washers and dryers. This time I called Oscar it was for a washer I have not had any problem with before but it started leaking badly when draining and it wasn't coming from the front door or the drain hose itself. I was afraid the pump itself was bad so I called Oscar and we set up a time for him to come out which he did exactly as planned. He quickly found the leak and fortunately it was not the pump but he did have to order the part. It only took a couple of days and once he got it he came out the next day and fixed it and it is working perfectly again. I find him to be extremely reliable, honest and very fair on his pricing of the work being done. I have recommended him to others based on the service he has done for me in the past and I will continue to do so.

Oscar did a great job! He was very prompt. Arrived right on time. Calling to confirm. Very professional. Also he was able to fit in an appointment for my mom who lives 5 minutes away, when very coincidentally her washer wouldn't drain. Very much appreciated the last minute overtime to fix her washing machine on the same day.

Experience dealing with Oscar was truly a pleasure. He handled the repair and provided me with great tips on how to expand the life of my washer and dryer. He was also very responsive to telephone calls and even showed up early on day of appointment. And, he did it all at a very reasonable price.

I left a message and received a return call (voice message) within 2 hours. In his message, Oscar gave appointment options and explained his service call fee. In the meantime, I further researched the problem and age of my dryer. I decided to replace the unit rather than repair it. I left Oscar a message to that effect. Oscar called within half an hour to simply give me recommendations on what brands to purchase. His courteous reply saved me time and possibly a costly mistake. Hopefully, I won't need his service for several years, but I will recommend him to others until then.

After reading the reviews on Angie's list I called Oscar's Washer and Dryer Repair to set up an appointment. I left a message and within 30 minutes I got a call back to set up the date and time. The night before my appointment I received a call confirming the appointment. I spoke with Oscar and he gave me a 30min time range for the next morning but he actually showed up exactly on time. He first inspected the machine tested it to hear the noise that was being made at the spin and drain cycle and check for leaks as that was part of the problem. As the liner inside the machine was all in tact and there was no sign of water inside the machine once the bottom panel was off he inspected the pump filter which was filled with misc things that had travel down through the liner that I would have thought would have caught the items (such as coins and string of beads). After cleaning out the filter he again tested the washer and it ran without the noise and drained without leaking. Since I live in a 4 unit bldg and all the units have the same Whirlpool HD Washers I had him also check the filter of another unit's washer even though there was no issue and found coins and debris in that one also so he cleaned that out and also glued the felt liner in the lint catcher of the dryer since it was always coming out even though I had tried to glue it back in before. Oscar also gave great advise as to how to keep the washer tank clean especially since I could see that there was a lot of detergent build up in the tank. I was so happy with the quality of his work and thorough follow-up that I have scheduled another appointment with him to service the other 2 washers in the remaining units.

Oscar arrived right on time. Oscar diagnosed the problem with the washer quickly, and he had the part on hand to fix the unit. I also asked about another issue and he fixed that too. Oscar serviced the other parts of the washer dryer and made sure that the connections were installed properly because I had tried to fix the problem on my own earlier. I would highly recommend Oscar especially for older units that you think are passed their life expectancy.

It was so helpful to have someone like Oscar be my 1st Angie's list call. He handled everything so professionally. If all of the Angie's list contract workers are half as good as Oscar I will be using Angie's list for a very long time. He emailed me immediately and set up an appointment. Because of a family issue I had to delay the appointment but he was patient and rescheduled. He was very thorough in his diagnostics and repair of my gas dryer. I kept thinking it was going to cost more than he quoted. When he was done he cleaned everything up and fixed something and the cost was one half of what he had quoted as an estimate. Oscar came down for an initial consultation, then scheduled a follow-up to perform the actual work. All communication was fast, concise and the entire transaction was seamless. I live far away from my elderly parents, so it's great when I don't have to follow-up on their many house issues. My mother asked my to write this review (never asked before). Said Oscar was knowledgable, polite, very neat and she received a very professional, easy experience. Also, the price was reasonable. His two house calls and labor cost $95. The various parts were $95. My mother says the large appliance repair companies will go out of business with small business owners like Oscar! Five stars!!!

Oscar worked on a coin-operated washer and dryer. The dryer was not heating up and he found the solution very quickly. He installed a new heating coil and the machine works great. He serviced both the washer and dryer. He came on time. He was professional, highly skilled, and courteous. He explained things in an easy to understand manner. He made recommendations for issues I had questions about. I will be calling him in the future for both my residential and other coin-operated washer and dryers. Hands down, he is the best in his business.

Phoned Oscar yesterday and left a message. An hour later he returned my call and scheduled an appointment for the next day. He appeared right on time, spent an hour repairing my 15 year old washer and ensuring that it worked properly, charged me what he quoted me on the phone, and I couldn't be happier. Very pleasant fellow and the person who referred him to me emphasized that Oscar is both competent and honest which are qualities I also value. I will phone him again for washer/dryer repair.
