Michael Siddons is NOT to be trusted. When we were scoping the project, he indicated that he would be doing the iron work, priming and installing the railings, but that we would need to work with a painter to apply the finishing on the them. He made it seem to us that it would not be a big deal at all to have the railings painted post-install. Michael sent us an example photo of one of his previous clients' railings that had a metal fleck/gun metal finish. We made it known to him that we were intending to have that type of finish done on our railings. Six consultations by 3 different painters and 3 different railing contractors later, we still don't have finished railings. Each one of these contractors have told us that Michael should have NEVER installed the railing unfinished and instead should have told us that we should have our painter come in to spray paint them prior to them being installed in our house. The cost for creating a "paint chamber" to seal off the railings from the rest of the house is a significant effort with an exorbitant pricetag that we NEVER would have signed up for if we had known that upfront. For the total cost we're looking at now just to get the project completed, we could have had stainless steel railings put in and called it a day. I contacted Michael Siddons and he belittled me, pointing to the terms of the contract--that he was simply not responsible for any finishing. Nice. He called me stupid and claimed to have no idea about the cost for painting. Michael said his partner did not want to deal with installing finished railings because something always happens where they get scratched on the truck and then they get complaints post-install. Please heed this warning and take your precious dollars elsewhere. This guy only cares about himself and not his clients.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS GREAT. MICHAEL MADE A BEAUTIFUL ONE OF A KIND WROUGHT IRON RAILING FOR OUR SPLIT LEVEL HOME. THE PIECE REALLY STANDS OUT AND MAKES THE HOUSE LOOK MORE ELEGANT.
