John The Electrician

I emailed John via Angie's list. He responded within the same day. I waited a few days to call him, but when I called him fit me in on the same day. He was great!

This is the third time I've called him out for service and I've been satisfied and impressed with John Cather's work and professionalism. The first time I hired John to install two very large sconces where there was no electrical outlets. Perfect installation! No problems. He told me in advance what he would be doing and approximately how much it would cost and how long it would take. The second time I called was to replace ceiling lights. John was on time, neat, fast and reasonably priced.

I had called on John previously for some electrical work on our HOA outdoor lights. He was prompt, effective and affordable on that job. So I again called him when one outlet circuit in our kitchen stopped working. John was methodical and quick in diagnosing the problem - a failed circuit breaker / buss bar location in our breaker panel - and correcting it. He explained how the electrical code governs the type and installation of the outlets that had been used by the original installer. Since I do some of my own minor electrical work, this was a big help for future repairs that I tackle. John finished the work promptly and his price for the work was very reasonable. He generated his invoice on the spot using his smartphone, I paid him with a check, and then was on his way. I absolutely will use him again for our home and HOA and will definitely recommend him to friends and neighbors.

No problem found except burned out fluorescent tube. Replaced.

The electrician was professional , promptly showed up, performed the work my husband requested, and reasonable in price.

John is a friendly, easy going guy. He showed up right on time for both the estimate and the job. He was done in about 4 hours and we are very happy with the results. He did everything himself with no extra help. We would definitely use him again.

My girlfriend's mother was in the process of buying an investment property and the agent was trying to convince her that the estimate received from the owner was adequate, but the estimate was only verbal and came from their relative. Seemed rather fishy. We requested a seperate inspection and was told on Sunday late afternoon that the property would be available on Monday at 1:00pm, leaving us very little time to make arrangements. So I turned to Angies list and sent out a message to John leaving my girlfiend's information and within an hour he responded. He said he would be there and could squeeze in this appointment between two he had scheduled. The following day he showed up on time and provided an estimate of costs. I really appreciate him coming through and wouldn't hesitate to call him again. Thank you!!!

John was very prompt on the bid and the job. He quoted us a very far price and installed three outdoor lights and two outlets. The job was done very professional he explained what he did and pointed out that he put flexible pipes in certain areas in case there was an earthquake. John is in my phone book in case I ever need an electrician, and I will pass his info if anyone needsan electrician also.

John responded immediately to my first call and we made an appointment quickly via email. He came right on time and investigated some power surges we have been having while also offering to call SoCal Edison with his thoughts on the problem. He also fixed two outlets for us. I have already called him again for another issue.

Very well. He helped coordinate with SCEdison and get it all done. He is detailed and meticulous. Very reasonably priced. I will use him again in the future.

He was excellent! It was very reasonably priced and he didn't even charge at all for this one. He was very prompt, he came out right away and he was very nice, but in this case he was very honest and he didn't try to charge for anything.

John contacted my tenant, made arrangements to meet her, and repaired the problem efficiently and for a reasonable price. I would recommend John and I have saved his contact information for future work.

John is a great professional. He takes great pride in his work. He quoted a two-day job and even with the several extra jobs I asked of him, he still finished the job on-time.

I could not be happier that I hired John. I called 5 electricians before I decided to go with him. His answered the phone right away and pricing was very reasonable. The quality of his work looks really great and he was very professional and courteous. I originally had a different company lined up to install the lights but I'm happy I switched because John's price was $230 cheaper than the other company!! I am very happy with my new light fixtures and would definitely hire him again.

we had a circuit breaker that had flipped and we couldn't reset it. We contacted John and he responded to our email through the Angie's List message center very quickly and we scheduled something for the very next day. The problem wasn't obvious so he had to do some searching, but once he figured it out he was quick to get it fixed. He was on time, prompt, fixed the problem and I thought the price was reasonable.

The problem was with the SCE line coming from the post to the house. He called SCE for me and they were there the very same afternoon to fix the problem. Other electricians suggested from changing breakers to a complete re-wiring. John took a no nonsense approach. A real problem solver.

What can I say. John was early and looking at the problem before I got there. The house is a rental so the tenant filled him in. The job was simple but done quick and at a great price. One hour total.I will call him again.

My wife and I purchased an older home, that was in need of some electrical upgrades. I contacted several electricians, John was from Angie's list and several others. Johns bid was best price, and I felt most comfortable with John the Electrician. The work was done in two different stages. The main service replacement was done first. John arrived exactly on time, and worked tirelessly until worked was completed. This took two days. I asked him to change some wire routing and John complied. I am very happy with the work, and his knowledge and skills. John stayed on track with his original bid. The second stage was to move switch boxes and install some lighting. The original builder put all of the switches at 3 feet, while the standard height is 4 feet. John moved all that was requested, plus one that was not needing to be changed. The only thing I would have preferred is if John cleaned up after work inside the house. It may be that John is used to working for general contractors, and they clean the worksite.

John was very punctual, professional and did everything he committed to. He was professional, clean and clearly takes great pride in his work. I would highly recommend him!

He is awesome. He has been out here several times. He is on time. He is punctual. He is fair. He is honest. He tells us the best way to do things.

I emailed John to install a thermostat I had purchased over the internet. He responded within an hour and we scheduled an appointment. The thermostat was only supposed to be installed by a "licensed Honeywell installer" which I knew was going to be very expensive. John spent less than hour, gave me the Angie's list rate with my asking and installed it perfectly.

This was the first time we've used John's services. He is very knowledgeable, clean, and helpful. We will certainly call him again when we need electrical work/troubleshooting in the future.

I needed an extra electrical outlet installed. John replied a day later to my inquiry and was able to provide me a ballpark estimate. He came out on the scheduled date and performed the work efficiently, no BS, no hassles. In the end his total ended up being slightly lower than his initial estimate. I'll be calling him again in the future for any electrical work I need.
