NOVA WEST SOLAR

Excellent, honest and forthright people. Only problem was waiting for PG&E to give approval to hook us into the grid. I do not believe that to be the fault of Nova West, however.

Almost a five star, but... I did a fair amount of research and interviewed multiple solar contractors prior to choosing Nova West to install Panasonic panels. Having just completed installation in July we haven’t had a lot of opportunity to measure results yet, but the August PGE electricity bill looked great so the equipment seems to be delivering. The Nova West installation, engineering, and internal staff did a wonderful job as well completing all the work very professionally and timely. The one area where I felt a lot of frustration was that communications were sorely lacking. This is a big investment and with a lot of moving parts to the process. This could have been a much more comfortable experience as a customer with a little more guidance and setting of expectations. Even after completion of the install there were a couple of weeks when we weren’t sure what was going on. Maybe I’m just old fashioned but I still appreciate a “thank you” from the salesperson when the job is complete. That said, I feel comfortable that we made a good choice overall in going with a quality product and company.

We started the process mid-summer and were hoping to have our system running before the end of the summer heat. We are amazed that the system was installed, connected to the grid, and the inspection successfully completed in 4 weeks from the day we signed the contract with Nova West! Everyone at NW was incredibly responsive: all calls to them were returned within an hour or sooner, if not answered immediately. We're very happy with Nova West and have been recommending them to everyone we know.

These people are incredible! We interviewed over 20 solar companies. It took us several months and Nova West was never concern nor did they try to rush us into a decision. We chose them because we got high quality at a very reasonable cost. They were on time with everything and delivered all that was promised. The system is working exactly as they said it would!! Their response to after sales questions is what impresses us. Most companies care less after they have your money. This is not true with Nova West!! Try them out and you will see!!!

The installation was absolutely perfect. By far the best service, price and solar panels in the valley. They left absolutely no trace of them being on top of my roof for two days. They took care to fix any damage to my roof tiles if there was any. They actually went above and beyond by fixing the tiles that were broken already. They use the highest rated panels in the industry currently, Panasonic.

The work done was professional.it was a very clean job and the solar is working perfectly. I would recommend Nova West solar to anyone who is looking for quality solar work on their home. After installing solar on my home, my first 12 months Energy costs zeroed out. Before installing solar my energy electric bill cost for a year was approximate $2400.

Nova West Solar was 100% professional from start to finish. The salesman Ian came to the house and spent hours explaining everything we wanted to know about solar. Ian also followed the job from start to finish. The best part is how they handled things when things did not go as expected. The management made sure things were fixed quickly and I was happy with the outcome. The entire crew really cares about your home and the work they do.

Everything was done in a timely manner from beginning to the end. Balkar Gill was so informative he answered all of our question and more. Mike Nephew and his crew were great always on time ready to work We were up and running before we thought we would be. We are very happy with Nova West Solar and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Starting the process with paper work, went great great info. In letting you know what you are getting in a power system. What your system will cost, and what your savings are in electric bill, and the great customer they have that will assist you in any needs you may have. And the time line for your install completion, and power up startup date which was within a week. Since install the system is running awesome.

We got solar panels from Nova West Solar, and we had many questions. Nova West's representative Bob Walker came to the house promptly. His friendly mannerism and product knowledge was very refreshing. He took his time, answered all our questions, and made us feel very comfortable in purchasing our panels. So nice to work with such an established local company, and feel that they care about their customers. We highly recommend Nova West Solar for solar panels.

We could NOT be happier with the service we received. Our system is amazing. We heard about Nova West from two friends that each had a system installed in the last few years and they were both very pleased. We stopped by the Nova West booth at the spring Home and Garden show and made an appointment for a consultation. We had done our research and knew what type of system we wanted. Ian Rock (rockstar!) was our sales rep; he was very patient and answered all of our questions. We signed a contract the following week and had our system installed and running by the end of March. The construction crew was fantastic. They left no trace of their presence at the end of the day. Everything was perfectly clean and there was no damage to any of our plants or the garden in any way. After installation we did have a problem with one of the components (no fault of theirs, part was defective from the manufacturer) and they responded immediately. They replaced the malfunctioning part and our system has been producing clean energy ever since. We cannot say enough good things about this company. They undersold and over-delivered their product!

Bob Walker was direct and to the point. I got estimates from 9 other contractors. Bob promised quick service and we got it. Panels ordered permits pulled equipment installed and PG&E hooked up in one month. No electric bill. They helped get us on the website to watch pur panels produce. Not only did we get our system faster but it was the lowest price as well. Some people told me PG&E slows them down. Not true. They were here everytime we called the next day. Great service from sales. Crews and office staff.

Nova West Solar was very professional to deal with from start to finish. Ian was our first point of contact from sales. He was very informative in explaining their services and how their system worked. He was very detailed and did not pressure us in buying. Everyone we met from Nova West was professional and easy to deal with. We did have an issue with a roof vent that could have been a problem with how the panels were installed on the roof. They took care of the problem quickly and to our satisfaction. The system is performing well and we are very happy. We highly recommend Nova West Solar.

As promised, our electricity bill has been greatly reduced.

Review of NovaWest Service by Phillip Atkisson To begin this review let me say that overall Nova West has performed near flawlessly. For discussion purposes the service will be broken into three discrete phases, pre-sale/sale, installation, and post installation support. Pre-sale/sale: During this phase, we looked at several different vendors and got both telephone as well as email responses to certain questions. I were completely ignorant regarding Solar, so we were potentially easy marks for the unscrupulous salesman. I first got a recommendation for NovaWest Solar from Angie's list. I contacted their Representative, Mark Luft, and after several phone conversations I asked him to come to the house where he spent adequate time to explain Solar in general and Nova West Solar specifically. He actually came to the house twice as the first time my wife wasn't home. Mark was great, absolutely no pressure...none! After explaining the system, all the associated costs, and establishing an agreed to schedule, and collecting a down payment of $1000.00, Marks job was done. I might add everything he said and all representations were right-on. Absolutely no surprises, equipment changes, or cost over runs or differences were experienced. The Installation: The installation was completed in three days. They actually started on the day that was scheduled and completed two days early. The installers were courteous, neat, and careful with our tile roof. Members of the install team included the overview of a licensed roofing contractor and a qualified electrician. After installation the house and yard were cleared of all resultant packing materials and you wouldn't even know that they were here. After several weeks, the City of Fresno Building Inspector arrived at our home and the installation was passed without issue. Post Installation Support: This was an area that started out a little shaky but ended quite well. In all fairness the post installation can't really begin, or at least begin in earnest until PG&E switches the service on by integrating the solar into their meter. This was apparently done remotely by PG &E as we didn't even know the service was switched until several days after it happened. If there is room for improvement then it would be communication in this area. However I really believe this out of the hands of the Solar Provider and strictly a PG&E function. That aside the post installation support includes helping the home owner initiate access to the monitoring Web Site supplied by the equipment manufacture Solar Edge (in our case). We had a few hiccups with that set up but after a few false starts Andrew Roldan came to our house and got us up and running. His professional attitude and service orientation confirmed my original belief that NovaWest Solar was an excellent choice as a provider for this service. I strongly recommend NovaWest as a solar service installer, and on going service provider to those in Fresno area.

Nova West responded to my web inquiry in less than 2 days with a phone call and email. I met with a salesperson the next weekend and he had a proposal put together and lots of information about the equipment they use. I called a few days later with some questions only to find he had left the company. They located my quote and got me my answers within about 15 minutes though, so that put my mind at ease. They were one of the few companies that did not try to push me on a lease or PPA, which I appreciated. They did show me the lease option, however. And the also showed me EECU's rates for solar panel loans. Compared to my numerous other quotes, Nova West was by far the best deal. Because they are local (fresno) I have more faith that the after sales service will be more available. Installation was fast at about 2.5 days. They kind of surprised me over the phone to ask if they could start the install the next day. That was about a week after signing the contract and putting $1,000 down. There was no mention of the monitoring being set-up though. Once I asked, they had someone come out the following week to get the internet connection to the inverter configured. It was then about 2 days before I got the link to the online monitoring portal. Its a simple dashboard, but it shows me the production by day and you can see the production of the individual panels as well. Now I am just waiting to hear from SCE about the net metering. Currently I am producing power, but lose the excess until that is turned on (saving money but not saving ALL the money I should be). Overall I am happy with the sales and service so far. All of my questions have been answered, but it took me asking some of them to get information that should probably have been provided in the fist place. I would definitely recommend Nova West Solar to others looking to install a system. They also honored the $500 Angie's List coupon.

They were very polite and covered the basis really well. They just didn't have the service we wanted. In getting information from them they were really good to deal with.

They had trouble getting city permits Then they did not return calls as stated The staff were late the first day work was to start The management said that he spoke to his men They were all sorry and said it would not occur again The job was completed as stated. The communication issues have been resolved I would recommend the company and Ian Rock salesman (very informative)

Taking on this project was I thought at first easy but it isn't until you have done your research and know what you are doing. I choose Nova West because nobody could come close to their price. Their salesman Bob was knowledgable and will sell you a system for your house needs. I would have went with Sun Power (company) panels but I just couldn't afford their pricing same system was 20k more but no one at the time of this writing can out produce them. The panels have been up and running since 9/26 and as of 10/6 I have produced roughly 555 kwh and I'm very happy with it. The only rub I have is that these gentlemen knew that I was going to have to upgrade my 125 amp panel and they'll catch you by saying maybe you might have to upgrade. Well low and behold after all the permits were applied (nova west takes care of all permits) I need a new panel so I had a 200 amp panel put in and that was an additional 1600. So be for WARNED make these gentlemen put it in writing that you do or don't need a new panel. Other than that they did a good job. Crew took 2 days to install and I went on the roof afterwards and I was satisfied. Nova West has a 10 year warranty on every component and theres a 25yr on the panels themselves but you will have to remove it and ship it to the manufacture. I would recommend them and Bob the salesmen was patient with all my questions and haggling and Rob the electrician was the foreman of the crew and was friendly and let me know step by step what was happening.
