Did not use. Owner and daughter (designer) were very professional, friendly and appeared knowledgeable, but in the end their price to do the work was more than I wanted to pay

Despite some reviews which suggested a problem with Eric, we reached out to these folks for an estimate for a relatively small job -- redoing the front walkway to our house by removing existing brickwork and subsurface and reconfiguring and relaying the brick so that the surface was level (earthquakes and ground movement had made it unsafe to walk). My first negative "clue" with this company was that it was hard to arrange an appointment -- but when we made one, Eric arrived on time. He was very knowledgeable-seeming and professional and understood our situation and made some good recommendations. He has good people skills and marketing techniques and we were favorably impressed. I asked for an estimate and Eric said he would get it to us. I told him I had one or two others and was anxious to finalize plans -- even though the project could wait to be done for another month or two. Then nothing! So after a couple of weeks I emailed him at the address he gave and it came back unknown. So i finally went on Angie''s list and sent a message to Angie that I was waiting for an estimate and trying to get in touch with the vendor. I got no response but a week or so later I finally received a three-line email from Eric telling us the cost, but with no details of work. Meanwhile, we finally decided to use one of the other vendors we found through referrals (not on Angie's)....and I waited until the project was complete (yesterday!) before writing this. The other vendor was punctual, did a great job AND -- he charged about ONE FOURTH of the PRICE that I had been quoted by Eric.

They did the job specified. I was happy with the service overall.

We started working with Mckenna on doing a large drainage project, because we had water problems. Eric came out immediately, and provided advice and an estimate that included all the work needed on that project. While his price wasn't the lowest, we felt he was quite professional and conscientious, so we hired him. They regraded our back yard, installed area drains, a swale, french drain, new lawn, and repaired some other work that had been done incorrectly by a previous contractor. Since they did such a good job on that, we requested that his daughter, whom he recommended, do a plan for our entire back yard, including installing three patios, plantings, boulders, etc. Her plan was thoughtful and we have followed it overall. Eric brought in his team to lay out the patios and do the paving work, complete irrigation, lighting, installing boulders, and electrical. They were able to take on any project we needed, and were hard working, respectful of the neighbors from a noise perspective, quick to do the work but extremely focused on making sure that the work they did met our complete satisfaction. Eric met us on a Saturday to pick out boulders, a fountain, and pavers for the patio, and made sure that where we were placing everything worked well together. So, what started as a single project continued into a much larger transformation of our entire backyard into what one of our friends called "an oasis". overall, would highly recommend them.

The job was for the design and installation of the soft & hardscape. We ended up cutting our ties after we paid them for the design. Responsiveness was spotty, but our biggest problem was that they didn't listen to what we said we wanted. With more than $10K on the line for the actually landscaping we wanted to make sure it was something we would love. Their landscape person just didn't get it and after three meetings and several emails we gave up and have walked away with only the design in our hands.

They were very professional. They were courteous. They were responsive and prompt with their bid.

The owner name is Eric McKenna. I don't remember the cost of the service because it was a series of different services. It seemed to be a little bit above average, but the quality was excellent. I liked their skill level. Whatever it was they were doing was highly professional and was just done the way almost better than I would have wanted to do myself. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

I loved working with Leslie Mc Kenna, the designer. She listened to my ideas and had great ideas! I paid T & M so I think it was all very fair. I wanted them to make a living and me to be happy at the end of the job...which I am : ) They were fast and furious. Very hard workers. Brian, the project manager, was THE BEST! Very creative and it was fun throwing ideas around with him and seeing them work out. It's all just what I wanted. I would definitely use them again (but I don't need to,,,,they did it all!). The best thing I can say about them is that THEY LISTENED TO ME : )
