The furnace stopped working on a very cold day. A technician came within an hour of my call and got the furnace working again within 2 hours. The furnace had stopped due to overheating. The cause of that overheating was not found, but it ras run without problems since the work was done. Both the office person and the technician were very polite and helpful.
Description of Work: Got the furnace working again. Adjusted gas pressure. Replaced bad rollout switch

Absolutely pathetic ability to diagnosis. Many of their personnel were unaware that the furnace displays an error code--in this case "pressure switch failed to open." Further, that the furnace even saves the error code in case the furnace is reset! When they finally said "replace the pressure switch"--which would have cost substantially more, I balked. Surmising that they'd never checked the incoming gas pressure, I called our propane supplier. The problem? A bad regulator on the propane tank. The replacement cost for the new regulator? Zero! The peace of mind? Priceless. ;-) Hasn't failed since. Their behavior was like an auto mechanic who, seeing that a car won't keep running, decides to do a major fuel-system overhaul without checking the gas tank. Several times I sent detailed letters to Foothill with no response; finally I sent e-mail to their president, Steve Davies, who did responded saying he'd "definitely get back" to me. Never did.
Description of Work: A two-year old forced-air heater would not remain on. The igniter would fire, but the main burner would not stay lit. Repeated attempts by Foothill--from cleaning the burner to finally planning to replace the pressure sensors--lead to unnecessary service calls, expenses, and no resolution.
