Description of Work: Colin painted the exterior of our home which included the body, trim, wrought iron railings, and our front door. We had some boards that need replacing and he was willing and capable of taking care of it for a small additional charge. We appreciated this because we didn't have go through locating and interviewing a second contractor. Colin was responsive, punctual, courteous, and quick to keep us in the loop on the progress of the job. He pays close attention to detail and we very confident that the job was done well and his estimate was right on target with other companies we contacted. We definitely recommend him and are planning to re-hire him for interior painting work in the near future.

Colin Mahin is the owner and on site supervisor of a small but proficient team of painters. I appreciated that all of the time I spent going over detailed instructions of the project was not handed over to another on site supervisor. Colin was on site and personally directed his own crew. This made a tremendous difference in the quality of the work, attention to detail and accountability and adherence to my directions. He was sensitive to my requests that no "overspray" onto plants, grates etc. be left from the job. I was impressed that no plants, bushes, flowers were damaged as a result of his crew. They left all landscaping perfectly intact. I was especially impressed with the attention to detail and the amount of time that was done on the prep work before they painted. He was on time and finished in the timeline of his bid. This required that his crew work extra hours to complete it on time. No additional charge was required. I wholeheartedly recommend Colin and his crew.
Description of Work: Exterior painting including extensive prep work. Our Victorian home needed the work of a detail oriented painter who was willing to perform the time consuming job of extensive prep work on the 120 year old house. The sunnyside of our house had blistered and alligatored old paint from a previous job that only lasted 3 years. We needed to match prior colors and do very detailed trim work in four colors. Original double-hung windows also require that no paint can adhere to the inside rails or the windows will stick. Doors and transom windows needed three color trim work that had to be done by hand. It required more of an artisan than a painter who merely taped off areas and sprayed. We also have many plants, bushes and trees adjacent to the house that I was very concerned about for potential damage.
