Mr. Meilvaine called ahead of our scheduled appointment to apologize that his previous appointment had taken longer than expected. Since he had to travel in afternoon traffic from Wisconsin to our home on Chicago's south side, he'd be significantly later than planned but was willing to come if workable for me. We rescheduled for later that afternoon. He arrived at the projected time. Mr. Meilvaine did an outstanding job. That he?d already had a long day and still faced the trip back to Madison, WI neither compromised the time he invested in our clock nor his very patient, professional manner. He meticulously examined the clock as he removed, cleaned, and oiled the parts. In reassembling the clock, he carefully made adjustments, checked and rechecked to ensure that everything was working properly. Mr. Meilvaine restored our clock to excellent functioning order. In addition, as he worked he showed me how various parts of the clock work, explained basic troubleshooting tips we could employ if needed, and shared fascinating historical information about clocks. I certainly highly recommend Mr. Meilvaine.

Mr. Bill Meilvaine arrived on time and went right to work in servicing our clock. He had with him all the necessary tools etc. to accomplish this task. He was very personal and professional. He explained to me some things I did not know about my clock. I watched (because I was interested) in everything he did. He took his time and expertise in removing all the parts, cleaning and adjusting them and reinstalling when finished. I was worried that I would not find a good clock person in the area I had just moved. I went online and found the business called, Grandfather Clock Repair LLC. Also I found out he is on Angie's List, Great! I called him immediately. He is located in Madison, WI. Also worried that he would not service the Oshkosh area but found out he does. My grandfather clock stopped running after a recent move. Bill came out and spent almost 2 hours cleaning and oiling the movement, adjusting the clock, and having the chimes working perfectly. He was very professional, courteous and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend him.

It went great. Bill came from Madison WI to my home in the Southwest suburbs of Chgo. He was on time, courteous and went about his work quietly and professionally. Nice person besides being professional. I would not hesitate to recommend him or use his services again.

We had bought an old Grandfather Clock from a lady that was moving in a smaller place. After moving it to our house, I tried to start it up but it would only run for a short time and then stop. We then got a hold of Bill of Grandfather Clock Repair and we made an appointment for him to stop out. Bill showed up with a smile on his face and ready to go. He took a look at our old (NEW TO US) clock and mentioned a few things that were wrong right away. Next, he started going to work on it. As he was working on the movement, I asked him some question and he answered them all. Very knowledgeable! As Bill was working on the Grandfather clock, I was telling him about an old Grandmother clock that my father made for me many years ago just stopped working. It has not ran for about 10 years. He walked over to it did a couple things and now she's a ticking again! It was like he had a magic touch! When he was done with the work, he explained to me how to maintain the clock and how to keep it running on time. My wife and I are very happy that we got a hold of him to work on the clock. Bill also said that they need to be maintain every 5 years too. Guess who is coming back! Thanks Bill for your time and bringing back to life two wonderful pieces of art. I highly recommend him.

I booked my appointment a few weeks in advance. I am so grateful that he was willing to travel to the Chicago area to work on my clock in my home. He arrived on schedule, was courteous and professional and spent about three hours working on the clock. He also answered my questions and advised on future maintenance. I am very happy to give him my highest recommendation.

Bill called immediately and he asked me a few simple questions about the sound and cadence of the tick-tocking. He said that the pendulum needed the weight adjusted and as he said it, I remembered the instructions told me that the weight regulated the time. I made the adjustment and it's working great! I promised Bill a review here because he saved me money by just being helpful. I highly recommend him!!!!

Bill was just great! We brought our wall clock to him, and as it was, it was completely non-functional. Within about an hour, he had it cleaned, oiled, and working perfectly! I really could not be happier. While it wasn't exactly cheap, I would rather pay a little more for someone who is going to do the job well. Not only did he get the job done while we waited, I expressed an interest in learning how to repair clocks and he let me peruse his professional-level clock repair books. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone who needs a clock worked on. One note: He does not take credit cards!

Bill, the master clock repairer, was very personable, explained what he was doing to the clocks, pointed out some interesting repair that was probably made over 100 years ago and was obviously very knowledgeable and informative. I would have no hesitation to call him again or to recommend him to others.

Bill came to my house, we talked about the history of the clock. He dismanteled all of the clock works and cleaned and oiled all ht eparts. He then put the clock back together and finished assembling everything. After that he made sure all the clock works were working as expected, and that everything was in sync. He adjuster the bell chime to make it sound as good as possible. After that he walked me thru how to adjust the clock if needed, and what I needed to do to keep the clock running. Overall it was a great experience.

Everything turned out very well. I thought that it was just excellent work, very caring and excellent work. He was terrific.

Clock is back to chiming every quarter as expected. It is still running fast so another call to Bill for an adjustment.

From the first phone call to saying good bye at the door, the entire experience was professional, high-quality, and reassuring. Scheduling was easy and responsive; he arrived exactly when he said he would; he worked in a quiet professional and thorough manner with respect for my house, clock and the fact that I was working in the next room. He also answered questions I had about the placement of the clock and clock operations. I feel reassured that my clock is running well and that this work will prevent any potential problems.
