Yamaguchi Termite Control

I tend to over research so I had a huge stack of termite company recommendations accrued from various sources ? word of mouth, Angie?s List, and past experience. I went with all three to select Yamaguchi. It was a long process from inspection to repairs and finally to fumigation. Richard came out to inspect the house (June 24). Although Richard was very thorough, he recommended further examination by his colleague, Oley (July 1). Then Paul, head of Yamaguchi, met with us to point out the problem areas, and explain how they will repair it. The decision was made to repair the house first then fumigate because any new wood installed may have termites too. Repairs began August 17 and finished August 28 and fumigation occurred over the Labor Day weekend (September 4-7). Oley and Jay of Yamaguchi did the main work of extracting the damaged areas and replacing it with new wood, installing new flooring, rebuilding supports, and supervising. Subcontractors did the work in the shower stall (demolishing, rebuilding, tarring, tiling, acid washing, and grouting), installing the new bathroom linoleum, and fumigating. Every one of them worked diligently during LA?s worst heat wave. Noteworthy: ? Oley made sure that work on the bathroom stall was done correctly and even made the tilers come back ? Oley and Jay installed the cost-effective (aka cheapest) laminate flooring as if they were the highest grade hardwood. Their work was exceptional. ? They are a smaller company who was willing to do a small one unit job. They were fair, reasonable and local. They were great to work with.

I went onto Angie's List to see what people had said about him, and I was trying to see the name of the tenting company that he uses, because we got burgled while our house was getting tented. So, I was looking to see, if anyone of that kind of activity was reported. He was referred to us by our contractor. He subcontracts the tenting service, and I was burglarized, and I wanted to find out why I was not informed of that. The company that he hired to do the tenting, and between them, they said that these things happen all the time. They didn't tell me that I may want to hire a security guard for the 3 days.

They were very professional, helpful and thorough with their inspection. They told me that I didn't have significant damage and suggested that I replace my small wood porch and do some light spraying.

The crew that came to treat garage, treat house for subterranean termites and do repairs were thorough and friendly. The crew that did the fumigation was excellent. Everything went according to schedule. We were very pleased with the entire experience.

To get ready for the city apartment inspection of our triplex, I hired a handyperson (from Angie's List of course) to do some repairs. While prepping one of the outer doorsills for painting, she unexpectedly discovered termites in the wood. With the inspection only a week away, I turned to Yamaguchi Termite Control for help. They sent out an inspector on Monday who confirmed the problem and also looked at a bedroom window sill that had droppings. I contacted the office the next morning. After explaining my situation to the owner, Paul, he said he'd e-mail me a report and estimate as soon as possible. I received the report that afternoon and called him. Paul offered to schedule the treatment the very next day. The service technicians, (Ollie and Jay) were courteous, personable and on time. They not only treated the affected doorsill, but also injected chemicals into the ground as well, to kill/control the subterranean colony. The window sill was spot treated and the residue and smell dissipated after a few hours. My two indoor cats suffered no ill effects. I'm grateful to Yamaguchi Termite for being so accommodating and responsive to my deadline.

Paul went to the property (a single family home in Pasadena), he was prompt, according to the tenant. He performed an initial inspection and followed it with a mailed inspection report. But he returned for a 2nd inspection because the tenants had failed to clear the floor area in the garage on his first visit. We also had a phone conversation regarding his findings. On the third visit he performed the chemical treatment on the area specified above to rid the property of the termite infestation and guaranteed the service for one year. I found their service to be exemplary and professional; their price for the work seemed fair and reasonable. I would definitely use them again as well as recommend them to others.

He explained everything in detail throughly which we appreciated. He sat with us explaning the results of his inspection and also showed us pictures of prior projects that his company has done. He was very polite and efficient. We appreciated his time and explanations of everything we needed done.

The overall service was good. The workers who came did a very thorough investigation and mailed me the report. It was very thorough. Everything they recommended, we did. Setting up the time took a while. There was some miscommunication.

The inspection was scheduled for the day following the original call to the company. The inspection was thorough, taking approximately one hour. Several areas of infestation were located, as well as some dry rot in the garage. Getting an appointment for extermination took one week from the inspection date. The exterminator was thorough and professional. However, after drilling a hole in our living room wall (with our prior consent), he left a rather messy bunch of white splotches on the wall, which did not fill in the entire hole.

We were very pleased with him. When I called him, I told him that we were so impressed with his favorable reviews that even though he was located at a good distance from us, we really liked to use him. Mr. Yamaguchi came out every time and he supervised the inspection. He is very very thorough and he is really a gentleman of integrity. I would give 5 stars for his professionalism, his expertise, understanding the problem, making very considered recommendations, willingness to work with the clients, and explaining the pros and cons of different types of attacks or termites. He gave excellent alternatives. His staff was knowledgeable and courteous. They were on time. We will be calling him for the rest of the work.

They were courteous to respond and professional. I went with them for price because they were the most competitively priced out of my bids. They showed up on time and did everything they were supposed to do.

I had subterranean termites in my apartment building. After thoroughly examining the entire apartment building the inspector concluded that the only spot was in one wall. That was a relief because he could have said he found termites everywhere. They came on the date promised and performed the work exactly as they told me. They drilled into the foundation to pump the poison under the foundation. They also foamed the walls. Since they have been doing this for many years they told me that Orange oil only works for a few months and they don't recommend using it for termites. I highly recommend YAMAGUCHI TERMITE CONTROL.

We had some minor subterranean termite issues at about 5-6 locations around our house with some minor damage to a window frame. We had three different estimates done. Yamaguchi was not the cheapest, but they were competitive and seemed to be the most competent. I was very pleased with their professionalism, communication, and overall treatment. The dry-rot wood repair they did was also very nicely done. Time will tell if their treatment was effective.

I was informed about keeping the windows and doors open for a couple of hours. It was a clean job.

They did a good job and came in with the lowest bid. Even though they work in the valley and we live in the mid city, they came out with no problem. We had to wait a little while, but it was worth the wait. I would use them again in future if need be.

When my husband noticed small mud cones on two window sills and termite damage in the threshold of one of the back doors, I immediately called Yamaguchi Termite. They'd treated our place in the past were familiar with the triplex. Their inspector arrived a few days later. He not only looked at the areas where the termites were visible, but also checked the backyard, garage and attic. He said the termites were subterranean (not the drywood variety) and recommended ground chemical treatment. After receiving a written report and estimate, I called and set up an appointment for the following week. The treatment technician was punctual and went to work quickly. He drilled holes in the concrete along the south side of the triplex and pumped liquid chemicals into the holes. He also did some spot treatments on one window sill and wood fence post for drywood termites. All in all it took half a day. He was very friendly and answered all my concerns about precautions for my elderly mother and our cat. We followed his instructions and there were no ill effects. The treatment for subterranean termites is good for five years. If they appear again, I plan to call Yamaguchi.

It went very well. They showed up at exactly the scheduled time, explained everything they were going to do, and then took a lot of time when they were done to walk through all of the areas they treated and discuss next steps for patching and repairing the holes left by the bugs. They also replaced both sides of the garage door jamb when only one was quoted in the bid and didn't charge me any more for doing so.
