+ 0 moreIncredibly well! Because the unit is visible from the street, Owner Walter Villacortas designed, built and painted a small shed to protect the system from the elements and any possible theft. He did an excellent job! The shed is unobtrusive and blends in well with the exterior layout of the house. Walter is always very thorough with every project he's done for us - from informing us about what equipment or products to purchase... to accomplishing the work in a timely fashion.

+ -1 moreWalter Villacorta is an excellent plumber: he does everything to code, is licensed, and is thorough and meticulous. I got a call late on a Friday afternoon from a tenant that she had no hot water. After searching up plumbers on Yelp and making a couple of calls to plumbers that couldn't come out for a few days, I found Walter Villacortas Plumbing. He was on another job but was willing to drive to us at 7pm on a Friday night! He diagnosed the problem (earth quake shut-off valves installed with flimsy - and therefore shakable - hardware, which kept triggering the shut-off valve. He re-set the valve, relit the water heater and made sure the pilots were on on the tenant's range. This was the 3rd time the valve had been triggered in about 5 weeks. Other plumbers (and the gas company) had re-set the valve and relit the water heater, but it was Walter who diagnosed the real problem and came back with a permanent solution which was to install beefier straps and more clamps to keep the valve from shaking. We've had no problems since. While Walter has been on this newly purchased property, he has been really helpful in showing me a few other problem areas - which are obvious when he points them out. I feel that he has my best interest in mind and is helping me to ensure our property will be safe for everyone who lives there. Walter returns my phone calls promptly and is excellent at describing the problem and the solution. His prices are good and I am 100% pleased with his work. Can't recommend him highly enough.
Description of Work: Reset earthquake valve, relight water heater, ensure pilots on range were lit. Secured earthquake valves with sturdier straps and more clamps. Installed new water heater and metal shed, built cement platform to even out the slope it had to go on. Moved gas line for kitchen remodel.

Description of Work: Inspected and relit water heater but it went out again. Relit it again. Advised us to call manufacturer, Sears, to get parts needed replaced.

+ 0 moreNot going to go into details about the job itself except to stay that Walter is the most honest, knowledgeable, and skillful plumber/handyman I've ever met. He tells it like it is and is not trying to sell anything. He thoroughly documents the issue with photographs and takes time to explain the issue with you including the options available to you. He was always on time and finished the work when he said he would and made multiple emergency visits when we needed him during the weekend. Walter's professionalism is also a reflection on his crew.

Description of Work: Rotor Rooted my main line. Advised me that it probably wasn't necessary, but I decided to do it anyway to appease an overzealous tenant. Also repaired a leaky P trap and cleared out a garbage disposal that had been stuffed with carrot peels.

+ 1 moreWalter arrived on time, with one man, and started working. We told him about a leak in the roof around the skylight in one of the bathrooms he was working in. He climbed up and took a look, and calked it. While on the roof he noticed a huge pile of accumulated leaves, and swept them down, cleaned the gutters, and cleaned everything up. All our plumbing problems were taken care of beautifully, and we even got gutter cleaning and leaf removal. We were very happy with the work, and felt that Walter Villacortas is very prompt, professional, and delivers on his estimate. (and more). We would absolutely recommend him.
Description of Work: We had a number of plumbing problems, as we had depended on another plumber, who did not answer my calls. Slow draining sinks, a bad filter in our watering system, etc. Walter came on a Sunday and evaluated our situation. One problem was that our sprinkler in the back yard kept blowing our watering heads. He diagnosed every problem, and gave us an estimate, We were happy with the estimate, and so scheduled him to complete the work the following Saturday.

And he was within what I was willing to pay and so far I don't have a leak any more, and I think his work was satisfactory and so far its okay. And I use them very prompt and he was on time. He was very professional. I have other minor thing needed to be done and I will use his services again.
Description of Work: Villacortas did he plumbing work a couple of time to work for me, They had to replace some pipe hat had broken in the wall, they changed the pipe itself, they put in a new pipe and repaired the sealing two areas in the bathroom because I have up stairs and down stairs, coming from the upstairs to the down stairs, then also place in the dining area from the upstairs.

+ -1 moreThe instillation, which involved a lot of work, was successfully completed within 2 hours. The owner, Walter Villacortas, was prompt, thorough and cordial. There was a leaking shower head, but he wanted to see if regulating the water pressure would fix the problem before having to charge me for that repair. As it turns out, the shower is still leaking. I will be calling him back for that.
Description of Work: Installation of new water pressure regulator along with new water valve and water hose bib.

+ -1 moreThe toilet was installed ok, but the vanity did not fit properly with the plumbing lines. Therefore, I gave him permission to cut the back of the vanity, as well as to cut a space out of the vanity shelf so the drain pipe would fit. I was mortified when I saw the hole that was cut into my brand new vanity! It is a hole that is larger than necessary, and it was cut without any type of precision. It's a big gaping uneven hole in the center of the inside of the vanity that is a complete eyesore each time you open the vanity. I asked why he didn't use an instrument that would have allowed a precise and even cut, and he stated he was unable to do that. I would think he would have informed me of such BEFORE cutting! Not happy with this job at all.

+ -1 moreThe previous owner of my home had a water line next to my garage, in my backyard, and it came up 2 feet out of the ground, from my lawn. I had it cut down and capped off about two years ago but the tip of the pipe was exposed for a couple of inches (bad job by another plumber whom did the job when i was not around). I accidentally ran it over with my lawnmower and shredded the cap. Water began gushing out resembling a busted fire hydrant. I had to shut off the water main to my home since it was on the same line. It was sunday and after going through almost 10 plumbers, I found Walter's Plumbing and he was ready and willing to help me. He told me he could be at my home within the hour and he was. He assessed the situation, calmy explained my options and did the work i requested. He and his assistant Peter were extremely professional, genuine, and efficient with everything the did. They cleaned up and also took the time to give me an assessment of minor fixes around my house (water heater, kitchen sink, bathroom sink, other) that would save me from a disaster later down the road. He explained every situation in a very calm and humlble manner, and never once did i feel he was trying to sell me or pressure me into having him do additional work - he seemed happy simply by educating me about things around my home. He is a true master and scholar of his craft.. and his worker Peter was outstanding.

He even said the pipes in my house could possibly explode if I don't have a water pressure regulator. Other than that hard sell, Walter was good at his work. I paid only upon completion of work, which was done in a few hours. I would willingly call Walter again for any future problems.

Walter has been to my home 3x this year to attend to 3 different issues, and each time I have found him to be pleasant , thorough, forthcoming, responsive and his pricing to be exceedingly fair. + 6 moreSee the above...he spelled out everything he was going to do start to finish in a running list and I updated it each time. He often bought materials and I paid him back based on the receipt and nothing more (no surcharges or charges to go/fetch supplies). He is a true gentleman...my 3 neighbors are now using him due to the great professional work he did on my house which is quite visible to all who pass by. I feel like I got all my errands done regarding the to do list on my house in one shot!!
Description of Work: Although the name of the business is called Walter's Plumbing, Walter is actually a fantastic handy man who is certified as a plumber and comes with a crew of 3 other young men to paint, remodel, roof, perform major or minor structural repairs of the house, along with assisting me with exchanging out my kitchen and bathroom hardware (faucets, trim, handles) , upgrading the weather stripping on my front door, sanding and staining and making look like new a 7 year old deck. He takes plenty of time and is very concerned with making you happy and making the details of the job matter. He went under the house to find that the supporting joists were unstable, along with on the roof to determine my 20 year old roof needed some shingles replaced. I had my house completely done over head to toe and it occurred over several weekends. He works during the week as a plumber for a residential long term care facility and has his own handyman/plumbing business on the weekends. He prefers to get paid when the job is done, asking only for payment on portions completed. I did need to cover the materials for the house. Of course, he has all the equipment and gadgets. The crew showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves, hardly took a lunch break, all spoke both English and Spanish and were very sensitive and caring towards others being in the house during the time work was done. When it came to outside painting, he contacted two of my neighbors to move their cars in case the wind shifted and the paint would blow onto the cars....very impressive. Highly recommended. He works based on project and not by the hour. I had the work priced out and it would have cost me at least 2k care more elsewhere with all the work he did and the amount of time he took to make sure it was done with excellence which, of course, takes tons of time.
