TURNEY AND SON

I called Mr. Turney in late November and he came over to see what I wanted and to quote a price. He bought some sample pieces for me to choose from. He did not charge for this service as other contractor's do. He gave me a quote and told me he'd order the wood and think about how to handle the overhang on the second floor dining room level and lips of five stairs. He called and told me it would take over three weeks to get the special nose pieces as they had to be stained to match the other wood. I was not happy about the wait, but realized it was not his fault. Father, son and grandson arrived on 12/10/12 and took out the living room carpet and cleaned up the room. The next day, they started installing the wood and made exact measuremenst for certain corners before cutting and installing. It took them only three days to do the whole livingroom. I did have to wait until 1/03/13 to finish the project as the width of the nose pieces determined how the rest of the diningroom had to be done. Fortunately, I did not have guests over the holiday season! The removed the carpet on one day and started working on the stairs. The five stairs from the livingroom to the dining room were apparrently tricky, but they took careful measurements. It took almost two days to do just the stairs. The rest of the job (stairs and diningroom) took 4 days, total. It is beautiful. They custom-made a threshold from the dining room to kitchen floor and small bathroom floor on the second level. It love my new floors! It has created a more open-looking space and is warm. Turney and Sons do quality work and I definitely recommend them.

I have used Paul, to repair and replace, hardwood floors for over 12 years. Both in my home, and at buildings I own. He does great work, is conscientious, and reasonably priced.

Paul and his son showed up right on time to start the job in the morning. They got to work prepping the floors for the new coating to go down. They even helped me move some furniture that was too large for me to move alone. It took them most of the day to prep and finish the floors. Paul told me not to walk on them for at least 12 hours ( I waited a couple days just to be safe, was still able to access the rest of the house). My floors look beautiful. Thanks, Turney and Son!
