Steve Marshall said he will perform the tree trimming service by 5/21. He did not do the work and never bothered to call or return emails/phone calls.

This was smooth and easy, They showed up on time. Cleaned the property and cleaned up after themselves. I was at work when they finished, but they came back at my request to trim the Oak back a few more feet from my deck w/o issue. Thank you Steve!

We appreciated his input on what kinds of trees,etc. do well in this area of Los Angeles. He said he was not a landscaper but gave us good information about what to do to the current fruit trees to see if they were worth saving.

I have some palm trees that I thought needed trimming, Steve had me send him pics and spent some time on the phone with me this evening identifying my palm trees for me and talking me through the trimming options. In the end, he advised that the only reason to trim the trees in their current level of maturity would be for cosmetic reasons and that I didn't need to trim them for any other reason. So I'm holding off for now but will certainly give Steve a call in the future when the time is right. Thanks Steve.

Steve was wonderful and so honest. I needed all kinds of trimming done in the front and back of my house and he was just the guy to get it done. The crew worked efficiently and they were a hard working bunch. I also have an extremely overgrown tree in front of my house and Steve gave us advice on how to deal with the city on it and said we should hold off doing anything until we knew what the city came back with as tonot thrown money away...honest guy. Once we know more from the city we will have Steve back to deal with that tree and I'm happy to report that work that was done looks great. It truly makes a difference having someone who understands how to do this right.

We can only echo the good reviews Steve has received. He is personable, knowledgeable and will not recommend unnecessary service. Basically he said: You really don't need me...call me in a few years... He went that the minor clipping at the roof line could easily done by ourselves, standing on a ladder. This was after he offered good advice on how California Oaks are properly cared for, which is to leave them alone, pointing out that the leaves should actually be left under the trees to allow mulch to develop, and he closed with complimenting on the excellent health of the trees. To sum it up: Urban Lumberjack is the number 1 choice for your tree care. We trust that Steve will take great care with our valuable trees when it's time to do some maintenance work.

Excellent work. Steve Marshall came to the property. He gave me an evaluation of the health of my tree. Gave me suggestions on the health and care of the tree. Told me the scope of work that the tree needed. His workers successfully did the work and cleaned up after the proceedure. I would recommend the Urban Lumberjack to all.

Steve took his time and in the dark was kind enough to provide a general assessment of my tree. He was very professional and responsive. He walked me through what I might want to do to be sure the City had the information needed if the tree needed to be removed.

Steve was very informative and helpful. He gave us information on whether trees were possibly threatening foundation of house and what we might consider doing. He also told us about the health and care of trees on our property. It was good information to have and he also called me back when I had an additional question I forgot to ask regarding one of my trees.

I called the service provider 6 weeks after my coupon had expired to ask if he would honor the face value of the coupon. Service provider did not respond so I followed up with emails and another call. With no response from the service provider, I am requesting a refund of the Big Deal purchase price.

Very Helpful! Although we did not utilize the services of The Urban Lumberjack, I did have a discussion with Steve, the owner, over the phone. He was Extremely Helpful! Unfortunately, he could not help us because he said we needed a Tree Health Specialist, which is not his area of expertise. However, he did refer us to someone who could help us with our tree problem. We would Definitely call them again! I really appreciated Steve's help! Thank you!

Steve was very professional, knowledgeable and thorough from beginning to end, conscientious of safety of both persons and property. His communication prior to the job was direct and all replies were swift. The palm was out quick and he was able to give me a little advice about some other trees on my property, referring me to another professional when it was something outside of his expertise. I will definitely call him next time I need tree maintenance and will refer him to any friends that need it as well.

They weren't able to do what we needed and Angie's list prompts me every time I log in (annoying). But for the company, I remember the guy was nice and was very upfront that he couldn't help with what I asked, and he had our big deal fee refunded.

Purchased an Angie's List special for tree trimming which was a great value. My only compliant is that we wanted the tech to alert us to when he was arriving and leaving the job because I had a few special concerns to go over with him and wanted to inspect the job in case there were additional limbs I'd like removed. The tech came when we were not home and did not alert us, so I was disappointed that there was no opportunity to follow up on the job. I wanted one of our oaks cut further back from the roofline than he did (which was sort of the point of the whole thing).

Steve Marshall is the epitome of an honest, hard working, reputable businessman. I am very devoted to my trees... in my personal opinion, I am a tree trimmer's nightmare. Steve is a certified arborist, exactly who I was looking for to take care of my trees. Steve came out immediately after our initial phone call. He walked me through exactly what I needed to do for the health of my trees, which did not include trimming them at the time. I suppose you could say, Steve talked himself out of a job. But he talked himself into a 100% loyal client. I will be calling him in the springtime, no question. Steve also taught my boyfriend, for free, how to self trim the two branches we needed to trim for city codes. I cannot recommend The Urban Lumberjack high enough.

Steve showed up promptly - really cool, knowledgeable guy! He gave me a brief education on the trees in my yard and gave me an honest opinion - that I didn't need to do anything with them (where other companies quoted thousands to do the work I thought I needed). Honest and saved me money! We will definitely call on him next time I really do need work done!

a coral tree fell on my property so i called steve marshall at the urban lumberjack. steve came out to my house, examined the tree, and performed a free analysis both of the dead tree and the other, still standing trees on my property. the hour spent with him was like a class in trees from a great and knowledgeable professor. just fascinating and extremely instructive tutorial from the master. steve is a lovely guy, extremely knowledgeable and generous in sharing his love and knowledge of trees. i would call him again without a doubt thank you steve

Steve Marshall is a very pleasant individual, and very knowledgeable about my trees. There were issues regarding a bee hive that needed to be removed and a shed that needed to be bridged with a scaffold before work could proceed. I just could not afford the total expense at that time.

IT went exactly as planned. Steve is a professional who is very easy to communicate with. His bid was emailed to me so that I had several options in writing. Once I had decided what I wanted, he was able to to do the work quickly. His guys did a great job and cleaned up the years perfectly. Steve came back in 3 months to put some more poison on the stump. Over a year later, when the stump was sprouting a few more pieces, he has offered to come back by for another layer of poison. This guy is awesome!
