I made an appointment to meet with Jason. When the time came, he didn't show up. When I called his number, he answered, then hung up! I called back twice only to get his voicemail. He never showed, and I never got a call back. Unbelievable. Just cancel and don't waste my time!

Based on this vendors two previous glowing reports I gave SK Welding an enthusiastic call. Jason scheduled a time that would work for him, and we were all set. The appointment time/day came and went without Jason showing up or even calling me. I then called and left him a message to see if something had come up, and perhaps we could reschedule. No answer and no call back. VERY disappointed, but that's how it goes with some of these contractors.

We shopped around for a while and decided on working with Jason at Artistic Iron Works/SK Welding when we realized his attention to design detail and their quality of work. When we first called Jason we let him know that we live in a historic neighborhood and needed gates which are period-correct (1920s/30s). He visited our home and we walked around to some neighboring homes so he could get a feel of the neighbhorhood. Jason offered great advice on different styles which may work best and presented us with many options (ranging from custom to various catalog designs). We picked a design out of a book (with some modifications, which he readily agreed to) and then he waited very patiently for us while we awaited approval from our historical preservation board. The designs passed HPOZ review with flying colors and Jason's guys promptly went to work fabricating the gates. The gates ended up being even more impressive in person - really high quality solid core iron and intricate fabrication work. His guys then worked diligently to install the gates perfectly, which was challenging given the fact that our 70+ yr old home on a steep hill has irregular walls which needed to be accounted for. Both gates look perfect. They did a great job and we plan to call them again when want some fence work done.

The finished pedestrian gate is stunning. I live in an area where people place high value on the aesthetic appearance of their houses, and I received multiple compliments from neighbors and passers-by on the appearance of the new gate. A neighbor who never talks to me made a point of stopping and saying that the gate was gorgeous. In addition, Jason was very punctual and showed up when he said he would show up. All in all, a great experience.
