Definitely not warm and fuzzy but completely no nonsense and knowledgeable. I had three different issues with my built in GE Profile fridge (piece of c%$@*) and one with a Viking range. Each time Kevin was able to quickly and accurately diagnose the problem. I knew what the issue was with the range and had priced the parts. Their prices for the parts were very fair and not one minute was wasted. He worked very quickly and efficiently. Prices were lower than any other quotes I had gotten.

This visit was a coupon I bought from Angie's List . The service tech they sent was so knowledgeable about Subzero that he did an excellent job. He was clean, neat and very efficient and even let my dog stay in the kitchen while he did the maintance. I would definitely use this company again.

Mike was extremely courteous and diagnosed why washer was making a banging sound. He called to find replacements. We made an appointment for him to return and install them. He arrived punctually and installed parts. He accepted coupon for $100 towards labor and gave me a bill for remainder - reasonable price and efficient service.

Our freezer was accumulating frost and this provider happened to be offering a Big Deal for appliance repair so that is how I got started with Service Masters. Kevin (the tech/repairman) came out on April 17th to give us a free estimate which was great. Apparently a computer/circuit board had gone bad - he said it was a common issue these days. He said the cost of the part was $207.78. The day he came out, the fridge portion had basically stopped working as well. He said replacing the part would fix that as well. He said the freezer would have to be clear of frost for him to do the repair. He gave me the option of doing it myself, the day before he came out to replace the part, or he would do it when he came out. In the interest of saving money on labor, I chose to do it myself. Kevin said they would call us when the part came in which should be a couple days, and then we would arrange a day for him to come perform the repair. HIs initial visit was on a Friday and I still hadn't heard back from them by Monday so I called them Tuesday morning. Since we couldn't use the fridge, I wanted to get it done sooner rather than later. When I called the person who answered said she didn't see that a part was ordered - I was not thrilled - but she said she would check and call me back. Turned out Kevin HAD ordered the part, but it wasn't showing up on her list. We made arrangements for him to come out the next day and replace the part. The cost of the part was just what he said it would be - not including tax. The cost I paid for the Big Deal covered the cost of the labor. I don't remember how long it took him to do the repair - maybe an hour? But I do remember it was faster than I thought it would be. Kevin does have an accent, but I was able to understand him well enough and any question I had, he answered. I would definitely recommend him and he was very tidy which I appreciated. He also arrived on time both days he came out.

This company was professional. They repaired my ice maker in my 4 year old Samsung refrigerator, which stopped working and was only making a few cubes. Mike was punctual and showed up on time. He took the time to explain to me what he was checking and diagnosed the problem. We ordered a new ice maker, which arrived in approx 5 days as he told us. He promptly came and installed the new ice maker and it is working beautifully. Mike and his partner gave me some tips on my other appliances. I will call them for other services. I gave 4 stars on price, as I thought it was reasonable.

Diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts, and fixed it. Just what you'd expect. But along the way, they found another small problem and fixed that as well. The technician was gruff, businesslike, a real no-nonsense guy -- but also fast, efficient and expert. Scheduling was easy. Great experience at a reasonable price. (I ordered the $99 package -- it covered diagnosis and the return trip to install the parts. Very good deal.) I'd use their services again in a heartbeat.

The initial 99 went to diagnosing a problem that couldn't be fixed without ordering the replacement part from Samsung. Came back within 48 hours with an assistant and spent 2 hours pulling everything out, pulling the machine apart, replacing the part and then leaving with everything back in place and working perfectly. 72 hours later the pump failed again. He came out within hours. Diagnosed the bad part. He was very professional and very apologetic even though this was clearly no fault of his. He was back within 48 hours with an assistant and the replacement for the replacement. He showed up on time. Did the job even more quickly. Left the place spotless. Was again very apologetic. No charge as this fell under his work guarantee. I would hire them again. I'm very pleased.

Kevin called in a few days to let me know the parts had arrived and we scheduled the 19th at 9:30 in the morning. He was finished before 11 AM and the machine has worked like new since. I commend Service Masters for having employees like Kevin. And I commend Angie's List for finding excellent companies to help the public find the experts in their field.
Description of Work: Kevin, the technician, arrived on time to analyze the problem and determined that the problem was the water pump. He made a call to get some information and told me that it would take about 5 to 7 days to get the parts and about two hours to install them. His price quote was reasonable; about $260.00 with tax. I agreed.

The technician came to our house to diagnose a problem with the washing machine stopping due to an error code. I couldn't be at the house at the time due to an extended work meeting, but friends at the house were there to receive the service man. The problems with this machine had been going on for approximately 6 months, where we couldn't run the machine a full cycle unless we started it, reset it when it errored out, and restarted it again.... we had to do this 3 consecutive times, then the machine would run through the full cycle. Naturally, this is tiresome, so we wanted to get it fixed. NEVER had my machine leaked water onto the floor. My friends at the house, about 3 months prior, attempted to fix the problem by cleaning the hoses and checking it out... still it NEVER leaked water. On the day the technician came to our house, a load of clothing had been attempted the prior day, so there was some water in the machine. The technician pushed the button to drain the machine, then he conducted a diagnostic to determine what needed to be replaced. He then UNPLUGGED the machine, because he said this would prevent an electrical hazard. He told the people at the house that the machine would be okay to leave in that condition until they returned after obtaining authorization to order the parts and proceed with the repairs to the machine. I called the company on my way back from my work appointment and authorized them to order the necessary parts to fix the machine. This was a Friday morning and the owner, Alex said that due to the weekend it would probably be Monday or Tuesday before they could come back out. After the diagnostic was completed, we did not go into the laundry room. We were away for the weekend and my adult son called on Sunday morning to report that there was water all over the laundry room floor. We came to the house and found that the machine had leaked all over the floor, damaging our newly completed acid-stained concret and stained wood baseboards. I called the company and spoke with a woman who told me I would need to speak with the technician. I spoke with the techinician and he said he didn't touch the machine, only to do the diagnostic and nothing he did would have caused the machine to leak water... and that the machine was leaking water when he got there. [The machine only leaked water at the time of the service call, because there was water in the machine from an attempted load of laundry and the door was opened during the service call. I was told this minimal amount of water was cleaned up and the machine was drained to resolve the problem at the time of the service call]. I explained to the techinician that the machine had never leaked before and that something he did was different than what had occurred before, and that now we had problems with our newly stained floor and baseboards from the standing water in the laundry room. The technician became very defensive and said the people at the house must have done something, that he only unplugged the machine... etc. etc. The techinician did not accept any responsibility that he may have done something that compromised the machine and our floor. I hung up the phone after I couldn't tolerate the technician's attitude, but I didn't yell.... I called the company and explained the situation. They told me the technician I dealt with was the only person who handles Angie's List Deals and I would have to deal with him. I explained to the woman how upset I was and that I wanted to speak with the owner to try to resolve the situation and have someone else respond to handle the repairs. She said she would speak with the owner and have him call me. Instead of a call-back from the owner, I received a nasty email from him that they reserved the right to refuse service to anyone and since i was rude to his technician and office staff they were not going to service our machine further and they would refund our Angie's List purchase. Shortly thereafter, I received a call from the owner. He said he attempted to refund the service call, but Angie's List said the request for refund would have to come from the customer. Alex, the owner, then said they would fix the machine if I wanted to proceed to have them order the parts, but that they would not be responsible for any damage to my floor which was a direct cause of the technician's visit and his unplugging the machine. I told him I would think about it. In retrospect, if the machine was unplugged, I learned that the water should have also been turned off. When we had problems with our washing machine previously, we were still able to drain the water and we never had any problems other than the machine freezing up with an error code. The fact that this company denies all responsibilty for their actions is disturbing and I would never do business with them again. I have damage to my floor that has not improved and I will most likely have to restain the floor.

Thank you for your review. BUT WHY DON'T YOU TELL THE TRUTH. You had construction going at the house. There were no floors put in, there was concrete. Your machine was attempted to be fixed prior to us by your contractors. At the time of the service call you were not there but contractors. It is easy to shift blame. We did talk to you afterwards trying to resolve this but you still believe what your contractor says not us. You taught us a good lesson, we will never perform any work for anybody unless the responsible party is there. Just by unplugging the machine there couldn't be any flooding, that means something was done after we left.

They came out and wrote up an estimate that was extremely high. It was based on needing $140.00 for the labor cost when in fact they said it was $90.00 when I called up on the phone. I was being charged $140.00 an hour for 20 minutes of service. I will pay the $168 fee but not the $201.00 that they wanted.

There was a delay in scheduling the service, but other than that, everything was handled quickly and professionally. The stove was replaced after a part was ordered, which took about 5 business days to arrive. The technician was prompt and professional.

Came and looked at my non working washing machine. Ordered the part that I needed and came back to install it. There was a much bigger issue with my washer, the wiring down on the underside was all eaten away. Time for a new washing machine. The technician was knowledgable and very helpful. Our refrigerator just died all of a sudden. Less than 3 years old. Allen called me back w/in 15 minutes of leaving a message and scheduled Kevin to be @our home on the same day and w/in a specific 3 hour window. Kevin was prompt, courteous and honest.
