I chose Sato based on the recommendation of neighbors and friends. I had been redoing the bathroom in my house and brought him in to handle the plumbing. I had been told at first that the work would be done in two to three days. After a week, I was called and told that "work was done". The work performed was the lowest quality work I had ever seen. The bathtub was installed on random pieces of scrap wood wedged underneath the tub. The pieces ranged from a 4 inch chunk of 2x4 to a 2 foot long piece of trim that stuck out from underneath the tub. Underneath the tub, it was supported by pieces of wood nailed together and placed on the floor joists. Not only was the tub installation ugly, but it was not even remotely up to code and a safety hazard. During the installation they also knocked a hole in one of the bedroom walls. The tub installation was only the beginning. I asked that the water heater be moved from the laundry room to an aluminium shed out back. The water heater was physically moved, it was the only thing done correctly. The aluminum shed was installed crooked, it listed about an inch and a half to the left. The aluminum shed even fit the water heater properly. The door couldn't even fit on the water heater shed (it had an inch gap on either side). The vent for the water heater was not hooked up (it was in a pile on the ground next to it). The water heater also did not have an earthquake strap installed (i did find one in my house at some paint later). Trash and random parts were littered all over my house. The plumber tried to hide the pipe and parts he removed in the crawl space under my house (I found it) along with his beer bottles (yes, it appears that he was drinking on the job). Naturally, I'm pretty livid about the work that was done. I call up the plumber and explain that the work completed was completely unacceptable. After waiting a few days and not getting a response I call back. I'm told that Randy is on vacation and will get back to me when he can on Friday. I had to call him again on Friday when he explains that he is busy with billing and would have to get back to me on Monday. On Monday, Randy and his whole crew shows up at house. Believe it or not, they try to stand by their work and claim that nothing is wrong. They make excuses that it is my "shi*** house" , that they weren't done yet, or that "oh yeah, we were going to fix that later". The bathtub job was so bad I didn't want to give them another shot, but I agreed to let them try the water heater again. The guys show up at the house the next day and I had planned to watch them the entire time. Three guys tried wrestling with the water when it was clearly too small to work. It a fit of rage one of them pulled the water heater off the side of my house (leaving nice holes in the stucco), dragged the water heater to the middle of my backyard, packed up his tools and left. When I asked him where he thought he was going, he said "the shed is defective, I'm ordering new parts". When asked when he was going to be done, and why did you leave a water heater in my yard, he would only answer: "you have to talk to Randy". I had had enough. I fired them from the entire job. I was sick of their insults, their attitude, and their complete inadequacy as a plumber. I asked Randy to send me a bill for the work that was done. I thought I was being more than fair by offering to pay for the awful work that was completed. Randy responded by charging an insane mark up on parts and offering only a slight discount on the quoted labor. In addition he also post dated his invoice so that it would appear that I paid late (the post date of the invoice was a full week before the invoice date). DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBER.
Description of Work: Install a tub, relocate a water heater, update some plumbing from galvanized steel to copper.

I found water puddling on the floor of my master bath. I could not locate the source: tub/shower, toilet or pipes in wall. Ed Sato plumbing had replaced and repaired the bath/toilet, pipes in walls, 2 years ago, so I called them to recheck. Scheduled the plumber for my next available date (3-4 days later). Got a call two days prior that they would be short on staff that day and rescheduled for the day after original date. Plumber called in the a.m. to confirm appointment and when I would be home. Arrived promptly. Found the leak to be the shower stall and bath tub surround, re-caulked area. It's been 2-3 days after we could use the shower again (24 hours for dry time) and no water puddling, so I will declare the leak to be located and fixed. I asked for a bill the same day, they were going to bill me and paid by check. Total was $100. Total time in house was 30 minutes or less to locate leak and repair. I would generally call a local plumber, but thought since they knew the layout would be more efficient in diagnosis. Not sure if the $100 was on the high side, but job well-done and did not put me out of my schedule, so well-worth the price. I'd use them again.
Description of Work: Fix unknown source water leak in bathroom.

The company changed drastically since the father is not involved. They did not back up there work. We called them to work on a toilet overflow. After a week the upstairs toilet was over flowing. They charged me again to work on the up stair toilet.
Description of Work: They worked on faucet and two toilets.

Description of Work: First of all their license hasn't been good since Ed died. They hustle people who don't know better then to hire a plumber with a beat up old truck and unlicensed and non-qualified workers. These guys aren't worth the price a handyman charges. Cheap isn't the issue when the work is subpar.
