SAFEWAY CONSTRUCTION AND REMODELING

The sales rep arrived right on time, was very nice; and even cautioned us about the downside of the type of flooring we wanted...also offered to haul away the carpet we had removed from another room. That's when it went downhill. We asked him numerous times how much the flooring we wanted was per square foot and he wouldn't give us a price. (he was our 5th estimate and the only one who wouldn't do that). he said everything was bundled together. We told him that we wanted 6 rooms done; he only measured three of them, and much quicker than the other estimates that we received. at the end of estimate, he gives us a price of almost $15,000! and then says that he can give us a slight deal brining it down to $14,000. FOURTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS; he didn't tell us HOW the floors were going to be installed, what materials they would use, didn't measure all the rooms we wanted (I know this for certain because one of them was the kitchen and we were standing in it) and still managed to come up with a quote. just for reference, we were talking about 1200 square feet, and the flooring we are looking at commercially is about 2.00-2.50 per square foot. I would've been OK with that estimate if he had even measured everything, checked what was under the floor, and gave us explicit details as to what was going to be done but it didn't see like that at all. This isn't a report about the salesman, he was nice enough, but just about the way it was done.
