Ruben's Glass SVC

About 2 years after having the shower door installed in our bathroom, it completely exploded into a million tiny pieces. The shower was not being used at the time. Ruben's made up a lame excuse as to why it wasn't their fault and why they were not going to repair it. In the mean time we started using our guest bathroom shower, which had NEVER BEEN USED. We discovered at that time that Ruben's Glass had INSTALLED THE DOOR MIS-ALIGNED. The doors are banging together and it is in serious danger of breaking, due to a bad install. I asked that they come and fix the guest bathroom door, and they refused unless we paid them $150. I tried to contact a manager for a week, he will not call me back. After much research, guess what one of the main reasons is for exploding doors? Not being installed correctly, just like our guest bathroom door, which is not installed correctly. In my opinion, something they did (or using inferior glass) was the cause of the explosion. They are so unprofessional. they won't return your call when you have an issue.

I called and was quoted a price. We scheduled a date and time. The service techs showed up on time and promptly replaced the window.

They scheduled the repair within a few days of my call. The workers arrived on time. They explained why the sashes wouldn't open or close (the sash balance cord was broken) and they would have to replace the balance. Since they didn't have the replacement balance, one of the workers left to purchase it while the other removed the trim, sashes, and old balance. They installed the new one, and tested it. Since the upper sash slowly crept down (due to the heavy weight of the obscured glass), they added a friction plate on either side of the upper window slide. This helped, but it still sagged a couple of inches. This was ok, since I could close it completely with the window locked, if needed. They then reinstalled the sashes and the trim and cleaned up. Workers were pleasant and professional.
