John came to the house, offered great advice and options for the furniture repairs I needed, picked up all the items, returned to pick up upholstery fabric after I had purchased it, and delivered the repaired furniture. Courteous, competent, beautiful work. Some dining room chair stretchers were broken; they were replaced with pieces that match perfectly. The Queen Anne wood was dry and is beautifully restored.
Description of Work: Repaired and (through a subcontractor) reupholstered 4 dining room chairs, a Queen Anne armchair, and 2 directors' chairs. Also provided (at no extra charge) a new caster for my dining room table.

Outstanding!! I highly recommend John Orrante from Reymundo's Furniture Refinishing and Repair. When John walked in the door I realized that I had met him when visiting friends while he was repairing their sideboard. I was so pleased that this was the same person I had contacted. John came to my home to pick up my rocking chair and returned it within the time period he quoted.. John is professional, courteous, provides excellent service and completes the job. I give him 100%+ for the work he does and I would call him again for any furniture repair or refinishing.

John was great -- responsive to my concerns, prompt, and really courteous. The work he does is just beautiful. The tables look new again (probably better than they did when they were new, actually).

I have a pottery barn swivel schoolhouse chair. One leg the castor came off and leg split. He fixed it and no problems at this point. I also took an antique table let to get hardware replaced. That hardware was outdated and he MADE a new piece of hardware to fit the table!

I took my stools in for an estimate. He said because they were so old they could not be dipped to remove the paint. The dipping would dissolve the old glue. So he gave an estimate to remove the paint by hand and restain and seal the oak wood. I left the stools after seeing samples of his work in his shop. Nine days later I picked them up and they look beautiful.
Description of Work: Refinished two old oak stools.

John has an amazing gift and he is very talented. What impressed me right off the bat is that he told me what time he would arrive to give me an estimate and sure enough, he showed up on time. Punctuality means a lot to me and he kept his word, which gave me the first impression that he is very professional and has a lot of integrity. He took the pieces with him in his car and then called me in 3 weeks' time and told me they were ready to be delivered. The 3 antique pieces turned out better than I ever remembered them, even when my grandparents had them in their home. They look brand new and I get tons of compliments whenever company comes over. I can't speak highly enough of Reymundo's and I would recommend them to anyone who needs their furniture to be restored. I'm a teacher and Reymundo's gets an A+++ in my record book! You won't be disappointed but instead you will be very glad you called! :)
Description of Work: John refinished and restored three antique pieces that had been stored in the garage for many years, including a vanity table and mirror, an art-deco coffee table, and a secretariat desk. The work that he did was absolutely amazing!

We were more than satisfied. We would have liked to have a break down of cost, but this artisan didn't provide that. He just gave us a verbal estimate of over $1800. and told us after the job was done that it was $2400. Still worth it, and a nice person to work with.
Description of Work: We had restoration and repair of our wood cabinets, in our home. The maple cabinets are stained, and had water damage and wear spot that took off the color. John touched up all of the damaged area, and did a remarkable job. He followed up by coming back to redo some areas that didn't come out perfect the first time, at no charge. He is a true craftsman. We were very impressed by his portfolio of custom furniture and restorations. He has been in the business for over 50 years. He is on the expensive side, and doesn't have a set pricing system. But we were very pleased, and would use him again. Linda Ottosi

Dropped it off with them. They fixed it very quickly and called me to pick it up. They were very friendly.

He puts his heart and soul into his work and he really knows what he his doing. He is very knowledgeable about antique furniture and finishes them without taking away from its original beauty. It is a little pricey and he takes a while but he really puts a lot of care into his work, and it is well worth.

I took the door to his shop and left it. He's a very friendly, chatty guy and said that it would be ready within two weeks. When I hadn't heard from him in two weeks I called and he said I could pick it up the following Monday. When I picked it up, he said that he had to take the door apart for fear of breaking the glass, and that the glass had been glued to the frame, which made the job more difficult. He twice hinted that he should have charged $35 more (I had paid $150 upfront), which I ignored.
Description of Work: One corner of a large (approx. 2' x 4') wood-framed glass door from a breakfront had come unglued. John used a short dowel to strengthen it and reglued it.

I had a broken table leg and chair. I used the Angie's List website. Reymundo's provided an estimate. The table leg was sheared in the middle. He took it and brought it back about a week later. They totally repaired it.
Description of Work: A table leg was broken. This company provided an estimate for it and for repair of a chair. The table leg was repaired. Reymundo's recommended replacing the chair rather than fixing it.

Both items looked very nice.
Description of Work: John refinished the flat wooden arms of a mission-style recliner and touched up several scratches and scrapes elsewhere on the wooden portion of the chair. He also refinished the top of a night stand that had an ink stain the size of a nickle and numerous dings.

Although the scope of work increased, the total price was less than John quoted. He did very good quality work, on time, and with an excellent attitude. He's a rare master craftsman who seems genuinely to enjoy his work and his clients. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: John fixed the broken leg of a Danish modern dining room chair. He did a beautiful job, removing all evidence of my prior do-it-yourself work. He also tightened up other joints on the chair.
