Rene responded via email within a few hours and we set up an appointment for him to give me an estimate. When he came he took a look at the problem, and told me how extensive the work was going to be. I understood completely and he quoted me a price. Although it was a bit more than I had wanted to pay, when I understood all of the work involved I could see that the price was fair, and I felt that my couch was worth it. When he said he could take my couch the same day I agreed and gave him a deposit. I work at home and see clients here, so Rene was great about coodinating a time that worked for me to deliver my sofa. He did a great job and I'm happy withe the results he was able to achieve. I recommend him highly.

So far so good for us. They are extremely professional and respsonsible. They are extremely easy to work with.

I chose Mr. Guzman from Angie's List recommendations to refinish a teak dining room table which has scratches and heat marks. I was very pleased with the work, especially because when Mr. Guzman returned the table there were unusual cloth wipeswipes evident from the restorration process. He willingly picked up the table and took it back to his studio to remove these marks and retunred the table in beautiful condition. He and his assistant were courteous at all times, and I was very impressed with Mr. Guzman's professionalism and his attitude of pleasing the customer. I highly recommend him and his work.

Found Rene on Angie's list - emailed him and he responded right away. Came the next day; gave me an estimate and said it would be done in a week. He called me when he needed to check something with me, and then brought the table back a day early. It looks beautiful and I am completely satisfied.

I called Rene and he was very pleasant. We set up a meeting for the next day so that he could see the chair in person. Rene was very prompt and gave and a reasonable estimate. Rene also gave me an estimated completion date that was approx 3 days. As promised I had my chair 3 days later and I loved it! I will definitely use Rene again for my future upholstery projects.

I found Rene on Angie's list. I contacted him and he came out to check the sofas and give me an estimate. He listened to my concerns and worked with me to work on a price that would be fair to me and also to him. He gave me a price and a time that the job would take. The sofas were ready when he promised and even more beautiful than I ever dreamed. A very wonderful experience from beginning to end. I absolutely would hire him again.

It was an "okay" experience.. I over-paid, somewhat - but the work came out to my general satisfaction !

Wow! Rene got right on the job and in a week returned the damaged chair to our home in perfect condition. You can't tall that there was any damage at all to the chair!

.The top was damaged it needed a new veneer. He was punctual and polite. I wanted a more rustic finish. It is a French style triple dresser. He said that would not be appropriate. He gave me information that what I saw in the magazine would not work on what I owned. It was my mother’s dresser and it was from my mother’s bedroom set. He was informative and helped me understand the finish. He understands wood and finishes. He did a follow up call. He has done French reproductions with somebody who is First Class and does French reproductions. I have no objection to him at all. I would consider contacting him in the future.

The problem was that their English was very bad and it was very difficult for me to communicate.

I called a few companies and Rene was the first to respond. Was very polite and knew exactly the chair I was calling about. He was prompt and pleasant to deal with. Chair looks great.

Our cats had completely torn apart our precious antique wing chair (originally owned by my grandmother), still sturdy after 70 years, and it needed a total overhaul. We decided to also have Mr. Guzman make a matching ottoman, from scratch. He came to our apartment to pick up the chair, was punctual and professional, gave us an accurate estimate (as to time and expense -- this was not a cheap undertaking) and offered us a wide variety of samples, and also unobtrusively offered us his opinion on what would and would not work. DIdn't try to oversell us, or claim that some magical fabric would prove invulnerable to cats. The chair -- which Mr. Guzman delivered as scheduled -- turned out beautifully, perfectly restored to its former glory, and the choice of fabric was exquisitely suited to the style of the chair. The piece de resistance, though, was the ottoman, which was incredibly well-matched to the chair, with carvings in the legs mirroring those he'd copied from the chair. We are totally pleased with Mr. Guzman's work, would take another piece of precious furniture to him, and would recommend him to friends. (By the way, our cats also have taken a gentle liking to the new pieces, too, and take their afternoon siestas on them).

It was a great experience from beginning to end. Rene's workshop had actually custom made the original stools and 6 matching dining chairs and some other upholstered pieces for me 13 years ago. The seats of the stools had gotten a lot of wear over the years and needed to be reupholstered and 'fixed up'. I was lucky to be able to get enough of the original faux black leather material (which had just been discontinued) to have them re-done. And I was really lucky to be able to track down Rene who had moved the location of his shop in the intervening years. I contacted him, described the work I needed done and then e-mailed him photos of one of the chairs. He very promptly sent me back an estimate which I agreed to. I did not get any other estimates for this job because I already knew the quality of his work and I wanted to make sure that the baseball-stitched seats matched those on the kitchen chairs. And his estimate sounded fair. He picked up the stools the following Monday morning and brought them back to me on Friday looking like new. He arrived exactly when he said he would both times. He added additional filling to the seats because he thought they looked too 'flat' (having compressed over time and lots of use) but didn't charge extra. The results were perfect. I will definitely work with him again and recommend him without reservation.
