Though I was very interested in an epoxy coating for the space (I had also examined laminate, vinyl and carpet as solutions), at first glance it was simply out of my budget. I contacted several epoxy firms because the job had to be done quickly. The rep from Red Rhino (Daniel Gradin) was prompt and responsive, coming to check on the condition of the substrate and give me a realistic quote...which was out of reach. He took the time, though, to talk with me and see where we could whittle away at expenses and, that night, worked up a new quote that I could get approved. Two days later his team was on site. The first day the team of 4 did diamond grinding over the entire floor, filled cracks and divots, pulled nails, and generally prepared the substrate. The next day they spread the epoxy coating across the floor and then back rolled aluminum oxide for texture and slip resistance. They got it done in time for it to have one full day to set before the new tenant moved in - that's how tight my scheduling is. The rep was on-site both days, coming back to check it out with me the next day and make sure I was happy with the job. I could not be more pleased with my decision to go with the epoxy solution and Red Rhino in particular. The floor has a multi-year warranty, but I already know it is going to be the strongest, most durable solution, and thanks to the extra effort of Mr. Gradin, my new tenant is delighted with his floor.
