I have used Mike at Red Lilly Plumbing for several jobs now over the last few months, including a major two story duplex kitchen drain pipe replacement in the outside wall. He was absolutely masterful in doing the job and he showed an overwhelming knowledge of his craft. The smaller jobs he's done inside were done with care and finesse. I've used many many plumbers over the years and Mike is far and away the best in every category. It's as simple as that.

Not being a plumber everything seemed fine but went horribly wrong with demand for payment. Gangster style tactics were deployed after they refused use of online bank payment. Then the quality of the work proved subpar as the backups reoccurred. Lastly, rather than stand behind their work they claimed the drainage problem which they had diagnosed was the result of other issues.

The work went smoothly. The workers were punctual and focused upon getting the work done. Upon completion they aggressively insisted that payment be made immediately in person. I normally pay vendors by bank check but after they had menacing looking people on site frightening my tenants I made a special trip to LA to pay. Altogether a bad experience especially after they didn't appear to stand behind their work when I experienced problems.

It went well, they did a great job, were personable and easy to communicate with, and charged a competitive rate.

Ramon was amazing, he not only fixed the problem, he went over with me the cause of the clog and how to help prevent them in the future. He even offered to put all my cleaning supplies back under the sink. I was able to use the Angie's list coupon for 10% off as well!

These events happened many years ago and are shared with the best of my recollection. Dates are all approximate. Everything started out very well. The work appeared to go well with a conscientious effort on the part of the workers. They finished as promised with minor adjustments. The problem came when it came time to pay. I crossed from dealing with plumbers to something sad, and entirely different. My experience: All my payments are normally handled through my online payment but they wanted a check immediately. After the work was done and I was discussing payment options with them the residents reported people on the premises of the property for no apparent reason and were very uncomfortable. Meanwhile the tone and tenor of my conversations with them surrounding payment became very dark and I too became uncomfortable, so I wrote them a check to make it go away. Since then, despite the guarantee I have had problems with the drainage over the years and stopped contacting them as they would always say it was something other than drainage and I ended up paying other plumbers to deal with the drainage as I was not comfortable with what might come next.

They got out there the day of the issue, within a couple hours of my call. They cleared drain line effectively. My only complaint was the cost ($120) as they were only there 15/20 minutes. But I guess that's the price of responsiveness sometimes!

The guys were professional and quick moving. We only had two brief periods when we couldn't use our water. They were able to get the city inspector out right away (I have heard of others having trouble with this). We haven't had any trouble with our plumbing since.

We had used Red Lilly before and they had done a good job, so I called them when we needed to replace our water heater, which was no longer functioning. We set up an appointment for 10am-12:00 today. At 12:15 I called to get an ETA. To my surprise, they had no record of our appointment. They tried to say that the plumber had been delayed, but the receptionist's surprise showed me that they had never set up our appointment. They offered to give us another appointment for the next day, but we were out of hot water, needed to fix our problem, and weren't sure whether we could count on them. They indicated that they would try to find us a plumber who could come sooner. After waiting until around 1 pm, I called another company, who got back to us immediately and did a great job. When I called Red Lilly to let them know, they said they were just about to call and could give us an appointment from 2-4 pm. We wasted an entire morning waiting for them. We are extremely disappointed.

Initial job was not good. After the person left, the vent fell off and was not a good job with the materials used. Had to call them back. He came back and finally did an acceptable job. They are way overpriced! I will not use them again.

They came on time and solved the problem.

I had ongoing problems and had used a well known "rooter" company but the problem kept coming back. Went to Angie's list to find a local company actually in business rather than a national company who had a bunch of independent plumbers on speed dial. Chose Red Lilly and hit the jackpot. Giovanni came out promptly, snaked the drain from the clean out to the sewer and ran the camera through to show me the forest growing there in my 50 year old drain pipes. Gave me an estimate of between $5500 and $6500 because of several unknown factors. My house is not on flat ground so a lot of the work had to be done in very awkward positions. Also, they had to cut through artificial grass before starting to dig. They were incredibly careful cutting the grass, then pulling it up along with the zillion nails that were holding it in place. They pulled up a section big enough to expose the area needed to be excavated. They folded that section back onto the existing lawn and covered everything around the area with a tarp. All of the dirt and the broken pipes with their fabric-like roots were dumped onto the tarp so that all the mess was very well contained. They replaced the exposed pipes and relined the pipes going under the street to the sewer. They got to work on time, had a full crew, got in and out with very little noise or mess. When the crew came to work, they were neat and clean and even their trucks were clean. When the job was done, the hole was filled and the grass was returned to its original position, nails were replaced and it looks perfect. They even brought in the same special sandy gravel for the top layer just as the original supplier had done so the nails held better. While doing this job, Giovanni brought to my attention that the horizontal pipes were not in very good shape under the house. Bear in mind, these are also 50 year old, cast iron type pipes which are exposed to the elements. I was able to see that a number of them were leaking and many were rusty. Since we had the ground dug up, it made a lot of sense to go ahead to replace them rather than waiting for another year or so and then having to re-dig to attach new ones to the new drains. The price was $4000 for this part of the job. In the meantime, we settled the bill for the first part AND THE PRICE WAS THE LOW END OF $5500 , NOT THE HIGH END. Replacing the horizontal pipes required the crew to work on scaffolding which is not easy but they were very efficient and did a great job. Obviously, I am very pleased with the work and the efficiency. I have compared prices and experiences with some of my neighbors and know that I got a fair deal price wise and much better service.

I tried to fix this drain myself by plunging it, and then by using strong drain cleaner, but it remained clogged, so I called Red Lilly. The guy on the phone was very nice, and when I asked for service in the afternoon (it was a Saturday and I was out of the house), he said he would call me back. Indeed he did, and told me a plumber would be there between 1:00 and 3:00. He also clearly advised me of their charge policy. I was home by noon, and promptly at 1:05 the plumbing truck pulled up. The plumber was extremely nice and friendly, explained the problem and the charge ($189) clearly, and fixed it promptly. When I told him that I had just had a light fixture repaired at a cost of $250 the day before, he offered me a 10% discount. All in all a very positive experience.

Lily is always on time and up front about the price which might be more expensive than other places, but this is a neighborhood family business . Good service nice people

They did a really good job. ?I was praying it would be $6000, but they did not think it would be possible.

Our lower floor was flooded so we called Red Lily, as they had done a repiping for us before. They determined that the pipe connecting our house to the septic system was clay and had burst due to tree root incursion. They worked on the project for several days, redoing the pipe, the entrance to the house, and the septic system interior. Each day the price rose by 2-3 thousand dollars as they found more work to do - this may have been all legitimate but we were sleep deprived due to our daughter's birth the week before. The work they did was excellent and we've had no problems since. We would use them again.

He arrived on time, was efficient, pleasant and professional. I would use him again.

It was not a positive experience. I asked for a spanish speaking plumber. They said they would send one over. My parents only speak Spanish. He completely ignored my mother who is the property manager and only spoke English to a male tenant. The installation of the water heater was not done correctly. I had to seek out another plumber who was able to address the issue inexpensively. I was not pleased with their customer service. This does not appear to be bi-lingual.

Overall, it was a good experience. The plumber, Mike, was scheduled by the dispatcher to come between 12 and 2, but he came at 11:30 (early is unheard of in the house repair world, so this was a pleasant minor miracle!). He also honored coupons that Red Lilly was offering online, so I got a good discount. Mike tested the cleaned line 2 or 3 times before he left to ensure that it was clear. He was professional and personable.

This was a while ago, so I'm working from memory: They were very accessible and polite. It was a large, dirty job, which they performed very well. They cleaned up nicely afterward, as they had to remove part of our deck and dig to reach the pipes. They replaced the deck boards and cleaned up afterward. We have not had any problems since then, which is saying a lot, since this is a hillside house that had regular problems with the sewer.

Called the owner this morning about a service call to fix leaky bathroom faucet. He was very friendly and professional. Plumber MIke arrived on time. Told me that it would cost $85.00 to replace the washers, showed me the problem, made the repairs very quickly. Told me that I have a 30 day guarantee.

Very fast and their estimate was accurate.

Went swimmingly! My tenants have working showers, and that works for me!
