Property Maids

The house was very dusty as we had recently had central heating and air installed. Additionally, the walls had about a year of grime on them (we do have three animals living with us contributing to the wall dirt). One bedroom is in the process of becoming a nursery, so the walls had just been painted, the carpets were cleaned and there are three furniture pieces in that room (overall that room did not need much other than dusting). For the most part, I was happy with the work done in the other bedroom and den. The bathroom was presentable but not well cleaned ~ I noticed the shower was not completely wiped down and there were little spores of mold starting in the grout which did not get cleaned or bleached off. The kitchen stove looked good, but the floor was not cleaned and the cabinets were not wiped down. The living room and den were the worst, I had to request they wipe down two door frames to get rid of the dust, the coffee table was left unclean, the walls were not cleaned and my hardwood floors were not cleaned. The problem is, after four hours the team told me they were done and left early without cleaning the house well or working on the windows (they did explain they cleaned the inside of the windows). I could understand the state my house was left if the team had run out of time but they actually left my house early and not well cleaned. I knew I was paying more than I should, but I expected a house well cleaned by professionals and that is not the service that I received. I've put a lot of thought about the grade I have given them; generally a "C" grade is average and I do not think their work was average for professional cleaners. However, some aspects of the job were done well, they cleaned the stove very well and they even cleaned out the refrigerator, which was not something I requested or needed. Therefore, I am giving them a "C"'Grade as I think it best represents the experience I had with this company. I have selected another company on Angie's list to try for bi-monthly up-keep while I am pregnant. ****UPDATE**** Fatima contacted me after I posted this review and offered to have the team come out to clean what was missed for one free hour. Since approximately two weeks had passed I offered to pay for an additional hour. The only day that worked was one in which we were to go out of town and have my mother watch the house and animals. The ladies arrived about a 1/2 hour late but not due to lack of effort ~ they had been at the correct street address but on the wrong street for about 15 minutes and once this was figured out made their way to my home. I had scheduled the time frame so close to when we needed to leave that I asked Fatima to cancel because the ladies were going to be working after I needed to leave for the airport. Fatima rolled with the punches and offered to give me both hours at no cost. I was very impressed with her desire to "right the wrongs" and move forward and agreed to the cleaning. When we arrived home five days later the house was still very clean and I was impressed with the work. I have since upgraded to a "B" review. I am struggling with the cost estimate and time frame the team needs to clean my house (3 people for 3 hours for 1053 sq foot home). Fatima explained they need that amount of time to clean to my standards (and I do have three animals) but she is willing to work with me for 3 people for 2 hours. I am still deciding if I should price hunt and try other service providers or stick with Property Maid.

I have previously written a bad review about this company because they had never responded to our calls after we bought the service. It turns out that they had tried to call us but had gotten the wrong contact information from Angies List. After realizing what went wrong, I was contacted by Saba with many apologies and I scheduled the appt. for cleaning our house. They also insisted I was not to pay because of all the confusion. Saba and 2 others came and did and amazing cleaning job on our house. We've never seen it looking so beautiful. We will definitely be using them again. Actually, we decided to have them come every month . We are very happy with the service and very happy that they went out of their way to resolve the initial problems. That's the sign of a great company.

Fatima answered the phone the first time I called which was great. I get annoyed with how many times I end up in voicemail with a service provider. She gave me an estimate and we scheduled the job. The cleaning crew showed up on time, was professional, worked hard straigh through and got the job done. I was very satisified with how they cleaned and the products they used, which did not leave a strong chemcial smell.

We had moved to Santa Monica and were looking for a regular cleaning service for our two bedroom apartment. Due to my wife's medical condition, it was very important that we have a service that used non-chemical, non-toxic cleaning products. I spoke to Fatima Brown, who explained that the first visit would take a bit longer and cost more as the crew familiarized themselves with the apartment, and that if we chose to make it a weekly appointment, future visits would reduce to a price within the range we asked for. The crew is punctual and gets the job done in a timely fashion. We are satisfied with the work and will continue to use them. On the infrequent occasions when we have to move our regular cleaning date due to a conflict, Fatima is very accommodating.

I needed to clean my place up last minute before the Labor Day weekend as I was expecting company over. My place was a mess and needed help in a pinch! I called Fatima who was friendly, responsive and sooo helpful. I had called around 9 am and I knew it might be difficult to find help for the same day. She told me that all her cleaning crews were booked for the afternoon -- but would try to squeeze me in the late afternoon. However, due to traffic, she was concerned that her team might not be able to make it to my place on time. She knew that I was stressed and assured me that she would find a way. And find a way she did! I heard from her about an hour later and she told me not to worry -- she was going to have her sister and another helper come over to my place to make sure my place was clean that day. Thanks to her my place was spic and span and my company was delighted and noticed how clean it was! Thanks Property Maid. They were professional, courteous and thoughtful. I am very grateful for their help.

Fatima, the scheduler, was very prompt in responding and very flexible in scheduling a time, unfortunately we misunderstood each other on the arrival time, so I thought the team was coming for 1 hour from 12:30 to 1:30. In fact, the team was supposed to be arriving sometime between 12:30 and 1:30 for an amount of time that was to be determined. This confusion meant that the kitchen was left unfinished. Fatima called me the next morning to discuss what had happened and ultimately offered me a free cleaning in the future. It seems there was a misunderstanding when it came to the scheduling and scope of the work. Her cleaning crew consisted of three ladies that were very nice, and arrived on time. I realize it's a physical job, but the spaces I needed cleaned were quite small, less than 100 square feet in total. Each team member took one room between the kitchen and two bathrooms. I had specifically de-cluttered all three spaces before their arrival. There was an absolute minimum of clutter in any of the spaces, e.g. one tooth brush holder and one bottle of Listerine in a bathroom, and a microwave, a knife set, and a toaster on the kitchen counter. No dishes in the sink, pots on the stove, towels in the bathtub or anything like that. The bathroom surfaces were cleaned very well. Unfortunately, the kitchen was unfinished. The counters, sink, and stove were wiped over, but not scrubbed. The sink and stove top still had several grease marks left on them. The oven had product sprayed into in, but there was no time to wipe it down. The gas heating elements were left stacked on the kitchen counter. They used plenty of cleaning product everywhere, and the three areas smelled very clean. After Fatima and I spoke on the phone the following morning it became clear we were expecting different things. I thought we had agreed that three people could do the three small spaces in an hour. She explained that I should have called her and we could have worked something out. Although I spoke to Fatima and her team leader about the work separately, we seem to have misunderstood each other. I think we could have avoided this if when the cleaning crew got to my house we had gotten Fatima on the phone, walked through the job all together, and agreed on an estimate of the scope, time, and price. I suggested this feedback to Fatima when we spoke on the phone, and suggested it might be good practice for all new clients.

They arrived right on time. A pair of pair of ladies. I did some work in the office while they worked, occasionally coming out to see how they were doing and to ask for specific stuff to be cleaned. They did a pretty good job, and I was satisfied with their work. It wasn't 100% clean, as I found a few things that I had to redo myself when going through the kitchen. And they may have missed a few spots here and there, but it was mostly in small detailed places. I didn't want to pay extra for more hours, but I assume they would have gotten to them and cleaned them as well. So I was satisfied with their work, if not completely happy. I was glad I got the discount for this job. I normally don't pay for cleaning service since I'd rather just do it myself. But for this special occasion, I was glad I used them to do it for me.

they were very nice and responsive to my requests. It was my first time hiring cleaners, so I didn't know what to expect. I used the 20% off coupon which came out to 59$ per hour. Very reasonable, but I'm curious to know how much it would be to have them come on a regular basis.

Overall I think they did a decent job cleaning out the house, but did not think I got the "deep cleaning" that I was hoping for. It seemed like the quality of a more general cleaning that I would get if I had been living at the house. Our kitchen has several cabinets, so we wanted to make sure each one got cleaned. But after moving in we keep finding dirt/dust in several areas. The owner tells you to do a walkthrough the house with the cleaners after they finish. They started late in the afternoon, and was finished by around 7pm. So it was kinda dark and could not see everywhere in the house. I found some places that were still dirty, and the cleaner went over them again. I asked if she cleaned the refrigerator, she said yes, but there were still some dirty shelves. She re-cleaned them. When I rechecked the work in the morning, still found many areas that needed to be cleaned. I called them up to complain. They sent the crew back out for a free hour of additional cleaning. And for the most part I was able to get them to clean the still dirty areas. And while I appreciated them doing this extra service, I would have preferred that it all get done the first time around. And still didn't feel as if they did that great of a job.

Fantastic service! Fatima called back right away and set the apppointment; Graceila and Ada worked non-stop and my apartment has *never* looked better. I can't wait to have another round!

I had called a few places from Angie's List to ask about a move-in cleaning service. Out of 4 places, only 2 offered this type of service. I chose Property Maid because Fatima charges by the hour, not by the type of task, which resulted in a much, much lower cost to me. We purchased a short sale, and our escrow was drug out for over 2 weeks after our original closing date. I had to re-schedule with Fatima SIX TIMES. Each time, she said it was not a problem. This led to my first impression: Fatima is not only fair, but she has a level of professionalism and customer care that exceeds most businesses I have dealt with. I can not say enough about how flexible and understanding Fatima was with my schedule. I would have called her again even if the service was not great. Which brings me to the quality of service. The house was dirty, dirty, dirty! The floors were covered in dirt and dust, the walls had cobwebs, there was dust and dirt everywhere, including inside the cabinets - it was just gross. The 3 women who came were very kind, had smiles on their faces when they arrived, introduced themselves, had plenty of cleaning supplies, and, after a quick tour through the house, got right to work. They were so thoughtful, they even wore these cute slippers inside the house so they wouldn't track around dirt! And they paid attention to all of the details; the base boards were clean, the cabinets were clean, the windows were clean, they even dusted out all of the heating vents! And they were quick! They did not mosey around to waste time; they worked very hard, and were able to get the whole house shining in a just a couple of hours. And it was not easy - they had to go over the floors alone 4 times(!) to get them clean. This service was worth every penny. It would have killed me to get the house clean, and it would not have been this clean if I did it myself. I definitely plan on calling Fatima in the future. We need to do some upgrades to the house, and I'm sure it's going to be messy. But I'm not afraid knowing that I have a fabulous group of people I can call on to help! Thank you for a wonderful experience!!

Fatima was able to work me in the next day after we spoke. 2 nice ladies showed up and worked for 2 hours.

They did a good job. We would hire them again in the future.

Fatima's 3-woman crew arrived on-time. I told them that the full bathroom, half bathroom and kitchen were the "priority" rooms I wanted cleaned. And if there was time, to clean the hardwood floors throughout the house. They did a very thorough job, particularly on the oven and bathtub. However, as another person commented, there is NO WAY this job should have taken 3 people 4 hours. The kitchen , including cabinet exteriors and interiors, had been freshly painted with new hardware. A new faucet and sink had been installed. New toilet seats had been installed in the bathrooms, which had also been painted. There was only 1 person in the house for a year and prior to that tenant moving in, I'd had the house thoroughly cleaned by people (who weren't available this time) for half the price. I have no complaints about the service, but I'm kicking myself for not getting a few more estimates. Without the Angie's List discount, cleaning my house would have cost over $300, which is absolutely outrageous. I would only use this company again if I was desperate and in a pinch.

I spoke with Fatima Brown. She was very nice over the phone. She was very prompt and polite. She came within three hours and was very adamant about me seeing her work before she did work for me. It was also very nice that she was so digital savvy. She negotiated the price very well.

I was impressed that the 3 housekeepers came 10 mins early. They had all the equipment to do a thorough job. All the sinks, bathtub, shower, toilet and tile were cleaned well. I was happy to see that they cleaned the classic O'keefe & Merritt stove. The outside of the bedroom windows could not be washed as the newly installed verticals prevented taking the windows down. Too difficult to wash from the outside because the windows have security bars on them. The crew left leaving a very clean unit for my tenant to move in. After reading this, one might wonder why I didn't give them straight A's and would not use them again.The reason is simple. A bare bone apt. freshly painted, newly refurbished wooded floors, no carpets and no furniture to be moved around should not have taken 9 hrs to clean (3 housekeepers x 3hrs=9 hrs). My cleaning lady was out of town and that's why I used Property Maid beause they were graded high and had a 20% discount for first time users. My cleaning lady would have been able to do the whole apt in 5-6 hrs. A crew of 3 should have been able to do it in 2 hrs or a little less. After 2 hrs 45 min, I told the crew chief that they had 15 mins left. When I spoke to Fatima, I told her that I couldn't see more than 1.5 hrs to clean the place. Fatima did tell that it would probably be 2 hrs to clean the apt. I agreed to that knowing that I would get a 20% discount. I inspected the work after the crew had worked for 2 hrs and when they left after 3 hrs, I didn't see any difference the extra hour made. The apartment is now ready for my new tenant to move in today. In conclusion, the crew did a good job and they were on time. Fatima was very pleasant to talk to. I sill have this gut feeling that I was taken for an extra hour. And no, I wouldn't use them again.

My rental house was a mess; three years of long fur and dirt ground in by a digging dog; never cleaned/ never moved appliances (stove, frig, washer/dryer); ceilings, inside cabinets and drawers marked and dirty; walls and windows thick with cobwebs and spiders everywhere; stained sink and tubs, grimy windows in and out. Veronica, Martha and Lynn arrived...very pleasant and cheerful...listened carefully to my long list of requests...very agreeable to everything... even when I made additional requests later in the day...9 hours later with only short meal breaks...a new house almost rent ready! They saved me time and money - the magic they performed on the walls alone makes the house seem freshly painted. Only touch-up painting is now needed. This was an unexpected bonus! And the smell - clean, clean, clean. They are strong women..they do not need help pulling out and crawling behind heavy appliances. Appliances were taken apart and detailed nicely. Veronica ran out to pick up a stronger cleanser to tackle the oven and broiler. They have no problem with ladders or crawling in bushes to clean outside windows. Layers of dirt and dust on all light fixtures gone! Later in the day I gave them permission to use comet with bleach for some particularly tough stain issues, but I liked that they use all green products. I also like that they would not leave until I was 100% satisfied with the job. It's nice to hire people who actually work hard and and are conscientious. And all of this work was done without complaint during our late season heat wave. Thank you ladies! Job well done!

I work from home and have been on a killer deadline for the last few months. Since cleaning is something that I loathe to do in general, it definitely was my last concern as I freaked out about my project. So when I finally had the project completed, I knew I had to get my house cleaned. It's not a big place but I have a dog and there was so much dust. Plus the bathroom and kitchen needed a lot of work. I've used a local maid service before at my old apartment and they were okay. But I was ridiculously happy with PROPERTY MAID'S work. My place sparkles! Everything is clean, the dust and dog hair are gone (I'm always amazed at how much hair a short-haired dog can shed), and they even cleaned the inside of the stove! My last service only did that if I paid extra. They also cleaned the landline phone I have in my kitchen that, not surprisingly, was pretty dirty because I did a lot of cooking near it. They moved furniture to get under it and did an excellent job of getting my couch and king chair clean of dog hair and, tragically, dog slobber. The bathroom, which was definitely the worst area of the house because it's tiny, the shower doors are clear glass, and there was hair conditioner everywhere, but now it looks amazing. They even cleaned the lights above the bathroom mirror, something I wouldn't have really thought about if I was cleaning. My only complaint is that I had to contact the main office a few times to verify arrival times and how they accept payment (check, cc, cash?). I shouldn't have to track anyone down to get those kinds of questions answered, so I was a little wary before the cleaners arrived. But the ladies did such an excellent job, I will definitely use them again. My house hasn't been this clean in ages so I'm really happy.

life circumstances happen. The good business owner calls customers to inform them of delays, etc. Good business owners praise the good job their employees do, not Themselves! These employees were sweet and with proper training could be good cleaners. When the bar is so low, there is not much to praise.

I called to make an appointment, and spoke with Fatima. We were originally scheduled for Thursday morning; Fatima called back to see if we could move the appointment to Wednesday afternoon, and that worked out fine. She explained the pricing for a first cleaning up front, so there were no surprises. The crew arrived, I showed them around, and they got to work. They were extremely thorough, and did everything I asked them to. They were also very understanding about our three cats who seem to always be underfoot. The crew did an EXCELLENT job, and I will be happy to have them back on a regular basis!

My appointment with Property Maids to come clean my home was scheduled for Wednesday, 8/3/11 at 9:30am. Fatima called me the night before to confirm time and place. As 10:30am was approaching there was still no sign of anyone; so I finally placed a call to Fatima as I was debating whether or not to cancel this appointment; however, I would have been left to clean the whole house by myself as I was expecting company the next day and did not want to be exhausted while entertaining. They finally came around 10:45am and didn't start cleaning until about 11am because the first lady I spoke with had to do a walk-thru to see what needed to be cleaned. They sent 3 women: only 2 could understand some english; only 1 could speak and answer my questions in english well enough; otherwise, they were mainly spanish-speaking (I need to learn spanish!). The lady that dropped off the three housekeepers said they could probably finish the job in 2 and 1/2 hours max. They took 3 hours and rushed the last hour because I told them I had a doctor's appt. scheduled and needed to leave by 2:00pm. I guess if I didn't tell them, they might have taken longer. And if they would have come on time I might have allowed another hour, but the fact that they ran 1 and 1/2 hours late already brought question to their abilities. I am a very personable person - I generally like people, so I am very thankful for all the hard work that these ladies put into cleaning my home. Being that it was their first time, I know its hard to let them know what I like and what I don't like. I was able to communicate what I wanted even if there was a slight language barrier. However, when they were told what I wanted via my checklist and pointed out some specifics, I ended up re-doing some of their work. For example, we have stainless steel appliances and we recently remodeled so everything is new. I had to re-polish the refrigerator door because the smudges didn't come out with their products; I ended up polishing the dishwasher as well; same went for the stove top knobs and the hood. Also, the upper cabinets closest to the stove top needed to be re-wiped because the grease marks didn't come off with their product. You needed to put some "elbow grease" to get the spots off; most of it came off after I showed her that it could. I re-mopped the kitchen floor because I couldn't tell if it had been mopped or not. They did do an overall good job. I just expected not to have to do any of it since I was paying someone else to do it.

I have had a terrible time finding a maid service for our house, and previously our condo. It had gotten so bad I had a list with over 18 companies on it and why they didn't work out. In fairness some were bad, but others just too expensive, never showed up or never called me back. Fatima at Property Maid was the first one is a while that did everything right and has earned our loyalty. I have now hired them to clean our house weekly and would highly recommend them to anyone.
