The tech checked out my double wide garage door operation. He made recommendations for potential future service and offered pacakage deals if I wanted to add them in the same day. In the end I stayed with the original offer. The tech immediately did the work, so I didn't have to take any more time off from my job. He installed the new rollers and cleaned the tracks. The new rollers are significantly quieter than my previous ones, and roll with much less stress, so the door is remaining balanced. I appreciated the tech pointing out potential future work so I can plan ahead and keep an eye on the tracks. The tech seemed very knowledgable.

When we returned from vacation, we found that the door spring on our garage door had broken, locking our cars inside. Precision had assured us that they could be at our house between 2 and 4 p.m., the only time that day when we could be home. I gave them both my home and cell phone numbers so that the repairman could call me when he was on his way to the house. It was a tremendous effort to get home by 2, but we were home by 1:50 p.m. We found a message on the home voice mail sent at 1:10 p.m. saying that the repairman was outside and that, since we weren't home, we needed to reschedule. I immediately called the company to make arrangements for someone to come out that day, as arranged, but was told that we needed to wait until Monday. Here are the problems:1) I selected this company because of the high ratings on Angie's List, AND because they told us that the door could be repaired THAT DAY. 2) When I asked why the repair man had come to the house earlier than the agreed upon time, I was told that the schedule had been changed and that I had been called about it. I did not receive messages on either my home or cell phones, and a check of the caller IDs for both phones confirmed that no one from Precision called. In other words, they lied. I did not reschedule and instead called a reliable, honest company to do the job.

We used a special from Angie's List. The guy came out from Orange County and did a very nice job. We were very pleased with the job that he did. Our garage door was making a lot of noise. The guy installed less noise stuff. I am not sure what it is. We were very pleased with the work that he did.

Work was performed at 305 Pembrook in Cambria, CA. (I also bought a garage tune-up package for my house in LA, but I haven't had that work done yet.)

I went through Angie's list but only ordered one door although I wanted both doors to be repaired.after some hemming and hawing the representative from Precision made an executive decision to honor the price and repaired the second door I appreciate that extra effort and would recommend them highly

Came same day as called, on a Sunday. Prompt, courteous. Because I ended up having a unique large spring, he promised to drive to his vendor next day and arrived monday morning to replace it as promised. Jeff was the tech very nice and highly recommend.

I wrote an earlier review about Precision Overhead Garage Door Service that was not favorable due to an installation issue. I wrote a review here on Angie's list and left it at that thinking that's all would happen. Within a few days I was contacted by owner of the Precision Garage Doors who was extremely apologetic and wanted to help me out however possible to, "make the situation right." I must say how surprised I was to hear from Mr. Hanson and how sorry he was that I had an experience that was less than favorable. He's gone out of his way to make the situation "right" and we need more businessmen like this gentlemen. I would without hesitation recommend Precision Overhead Garage Door Service to all my friends and family, and if it were possible, I'd ask Angie's list to politely remove my earlier issue and replace it with this one. They came out on time. very prompt. They were very professional.

We bought a Deal of the Day for a basic garage door service and roller replacement for $49 or whatever it was. The tech was friendly enough at first, but there was a weird exchange over the order number. I didn't have an order number, and he felt I should have one because he didn't. All I had was the coupon, and the phone number I called to make the appointment. This seemed to annoy the technician, which, in turn, annoyed me. Not sure why I was responsible for pulling THEIR order number out of my butt. Aaanywhoooo, as my gal predicted, the tech up-sold us on new springs, which were pitched by the him as nearly an emergency necessity. His voice was loaded with that perfect blend of matter-of-factness and doubt. Most homeowners have had something resembling this conversation: "Well, sir, hmmmm. You COULD leave those old springs up there, I guess. But old springs put extra strain on the motor, and they could fail. Replace those springs, or you could be looking at a motor replacement... But I don't want to push you into anything - it's totally your choice." Slick. So, once we agreed to replace the springs (at an additional cost of 300-something-dollars) he removed the old springs and replaced them with shiny new ones. But once the old ones were down, they actually didn't look or feel so bad after all. From a $49 refresher for our (already working) garage door to a soul-crushing $349 unnecessary repair job. In the end, I honestly felt like I have felt after every carpet cleaning, refrigerator repair, stove repair, window cleaning, or car service, I have ever had done: I felt as though my ignorance had been taken advantage of. I truly believed there would be some sort of miraculous change, that my garage door would whisper open on the wings of angels and close like the drop of a pin. But the truth is that it still sounded exactly like it did before. Exactly. To top it off, a few days later several of the "top-quality" roller bearings jumped out of the track and the garage door got stuck. People: This is a garage door that has not failed once since I bought the property in 1998. Luckily, I was able to force the rollers back into the tracks and all is well. I do not think this company is a bunch of rip-off artists, I really don't. I just think they do what these types of companies have been doing for years, and that is keeping the American economy rolling by selling you things you don't really need.

It is so quiet and runs so smoothly. I think it is better than when it was new I am so pleased witht he service and the fact that you could take a garage door that is over ten years old and make it NEW! This should be a required maintenance for everyone.

My husband couldn't say enough nice things about the repairman, Hector. He was prompt for the service and helpful with his tips and suggestions. We are pleased with the service provided and our garage doors are much quieter. We would definitely use them again.

Tune-up consisted of replacing rollers and advice on other potential problems. Bought garage door opener for 49.97; no price negotiation considered by vendor My original complaint was that sometimes the garage door started to close then rolled back up. The new rollers were supposed to fix this. It worked for a little less than a week but is now doing the same thing. On the plus side, it is substantially less noisy.

They had a Big Deal to replace garage door rollers and service the garage door. I bought the deal, they called with in a few hours to schedule an appointment and came out a couple of days later to perform the service. The technician was very punctual, well spoken and knowledgeable. He did the service in about an hour and upon my request inspected the spring which i thought was getting too old (already 13 years old) and feared could break down any time. He said that the spring might last me a few more months but I thought since I already had him there might as well get it replaced now which he was able to do fairly quickly.placed

Overall, as specified above, DO NOT BELIEVE THIS AD. BE AWARE THAT THE SERVICE IS ONLY FOR ROLLER REPLACEMENTS.

The garage door was making a loud screeching noise that I thought startled the neighborhood so I bought the Angie's List special. I was not disappointed. Chris the technician was clean cut and very professional. He explained in detail what he was going to do as well as point out possible future problems that I may have with the door and gave me an estimate on what that would cost. I just went with the special I signed up for. Chris did the inspection first and replaced all the rollers, lubricated all the hinges and greased the screw drive. He tested everything and it still was a little noisy so he tweaked some more things and the door now is pretty much purring like a kitten.

This was a case of a day late, and several dollars short. Having seen the "Big Deal" for a garage door tune-up on Angie's List being offered by Precision, I was going to get the deal and have the work done on my door since it was squeaking quite a bit lately. Unfortunately, before I could do so, my door mechanism decided to virtually self destruct yesterday without warning. (Maybe the squeaks were the warning). Anyway, now, I needed a garage door repair of what appeared to be major proportions, so having looked around a bit more on Angie's List, I contacted Precision to call them out. Normally I would do more research, but with my door jammed in a half open position I had no choice but to get the work done quick. Precision was very professional. My call first went to a dispatch office, and I was told there was a repairman in the area, and he would arrive between 12 and 2. Sure enough he was right on time. Unfortunately, my roll-up garage door is larger than most (apparently) at 18', and he needed to get parts for the repair that he did not carry on his truck. The repair estimate came to a whopping $1047, which would include all parts and labor. The repair might take up to 4 hours. Over a barrel, I of course had to agree to have the work done. I could not afford to miss another day of work, or risk leaving the house with my door partly open. Once the work was underway I offered to help the repairman extract the mangled parts and safely lower the heavy door to the ground. He was all alone, and would not have been able to do this truly heavy work by himself. As he began the work I asked if his company could do any better on the price, perhaps an Angie's List member discount, or knock something off since I chose them because of the Angie's List deal offer. Nope, no discounts for being an Angie's List member. I could however get a modest discount for being a AAA member. This discount knocked the total down to $967, which was better, but still felt awfully steep. After all, I priced the parts that were used as if I bought them retail, and the total scarcely came to $200. So, as far as I could see I basically was paying $767 for labor (the whole job took ~3.5 hours), and the "Limited Lifetime" warranty, which means that should anything go wrong with the work they did on the door, even years into the future, they will provide any and all replacement parts, but I must pay the labor. So, without any way to compare to other companies, I can't say that Precision's pricing was higher, lower, or about par, but it does feel quite high for what I know to be the cost of the parts, and for the actual time spent to do the work (unless their labor rate is $250/hr). The finished product however is excellent. The door has very smooth operation, is very, very quiet, and actually moves up faster than it did before (likely the advantage of new springs). I will likely use them again (actually, of course I will, I have their warranty), but even if I didn't I likely would, BUT, I would also do the necessary leg work to confirm that I was getting the most for my money, which I was unable to do here.
