Precision Overhead Garage Door Service

Tony came to fix noise problem with my garage door. He gave an estimate of $400-800 to repair. He got upset when I said I need a second opinion. I called another garage door company from Angies list and they fixed it just by lubricating some critical parts for $50!!!

They couldn't do the job, said my shelves were in the way so I did it myself.

Everything was functioning when they left, but the next day there was a clicking sound. I did not call them back regarding this issue.

I bought the $89 "deal" for new rollers and a tune-up/inspection. My springs needed adjusting and I was hoping the new rollers may quiet down the door operation. The FIRST thing that Larry from Precision starts telling me is that my springs are too old and they're likely to break. I explain to him that my door does NOT get that much usage (low cycles) since I'm the only person here and I usually park in the driveway. I told him I did NOT want to replace the springs - They just needed to be adjusted. After replacing the rollers, he would NOT adjust the springs for the $89 that was originally paid for the deal. He wanted to charge me a couple hundred dollars ON TOP OF the $89 I had already paid for what I considered part of a standard tune-up. I told him no thanks, I will do it myself - I'm not paying hundreds extra just for a spring adjustment. So, when he was done with the rollers, he just left. After a short while (maybe 1/2 hour or 45 mins), he called back and said he could do the spring adjustment for $120. Adjusting the torsion springs can be tricky, so I said "fine" come back and adjust them. This is the bottom line: They used the Angie's list deal to "get in the door" and try to sell unnecessary items (the springs), and would NOT perform standard a tune-up task (adjusting the torsion springs) for the initial $89 dollars.I would not certainly look for other companies rather then use them ever again. PS: Two years later, the torsion springs are fine due to the low usage of the door.

Our son backup the car into the garage door from the inside and broke the bottom rollers. I called Precision Garage Door to come out to replace the rollers with a Angie's List deal. Technician John Cabrera came and identified deeper damage than just the rollers and recommended not to waste money to replace the rollers only and issue a refund. Once we figure the original door manufacturer, we will most definitely call John to come out again for full estimate.

They came out and looked at my garage door. They were so okay. They didn't do pretty much than look at the door. They showed up on time.

When they came out for the service; they said that they I would have to replace the entire door and motor and everything. They requested that I get a refund. Trent was a very nice guy, he did explain everything well to make me understand.

The service went well. They did exactly what the deal stated. The technician completed the service in about a half hour. He did a nice job and I have no complaints. I had no issues with scheduling.

it went very well. Contractor helpful and knowledgeable. explained why tuning up the old one (25 yrs) was a stop gap measure that won't last long. Easy to believe because we'd had so many problems with it. Proceeded to install new one quickly and efficiently. Also provided the wireless keypad entry and linked the garage door opener to the car.

Although there were initial delays in scheduling the estimate and the installation due to the coordination of the staff with coupon work, the Technician {Jeff M} arrived on time and was efficient and professional. The garage had an old swing up garage door of a 1952 tract house with little clearance for the opener. Jeff installed the door and opener without any problems. I am satisfied with quality of the door and opener. The door operates perfectly and the out side appearance is well finished.

He was awesome. I really liked him. He was fantastic and very professional. He cleaned up after himself. he even lubricated my door for me before he left. He was great. He is also very knowledgeable and I believe their rates are very fair. They do a really excellent job.

One of our garage doors was intermittent when pushing the button to raise and lower so we thought a tune up would be a great way to get it working again. In addition, our current keyless pad was broken so it was a chance to replace it. We saw a special offer from Angies List and purchased the promotion on line. Jeff Larsen, the technician assigned to our job, showed up for our pre-paid $79 Garage Door Tune-Up Plus Keyless Entry Pad or Roller Replacement. Upon arrival Jeff said that he doubted he could fix it or had the necessary part and that the unit needed to be replaced. He then tried to sell a new opener at a price of $600. He looked at our unit and said it was one of the cheap Genie products supplied when the house was built. He said the unit was far too noisy and replacing it would solve the problem. When he was told that we were not going to buy the new unit he suggested (we later checked on the internet and found numerous other openers at half the price) he begrudgingly took the unit apart to fix it. He found and replaced a part within the motor and miraculously the unit worked as before. For that part he charged $140 and a $20 fuel fee. He took the broken part with him so we cannot give you a description or part number. When the $79 Garage Door Tune-Up was mentioned and requested as a credit against the new charges we were denied. He did replace the keyless pad and did a roller replacement. He told us that he threw in the roller replacment for free as "he didn't have to do it". This Promotion was an egregious case of "Bait and Switch" using Angies List as a shill to get customers to buy a promotion and then push a more expensive solution. When the solution was rebuffed they then charged over and above the special offer. If the term shyster comes to mind it is a fit description.

Replaced all parts, my door opens easily now.

A tenant clipped the door threshold with their car bumper. One sensor was smashed and the door track was slightly bent. The estimated price I received via email was identical in price to a different contractor in a nearby city. Precision got the job because they said they had a truck in my area and could do the job that same day. They showed up promptly, were courteous, professional, and did a 5 min safety check of my door and opener. The result of the safety check was that I should consider track wheels with bearings sometime in the future. I took another close look at my existing wheels and it turns out I had the identical wheels they suggested I install....only mine where brown to match the door! Hmmm. After the safety check, I confirmed the price to do the work I had called them to do. Surprise....there was a $20 fuel charge that was never quoted. Hmmm., again. I explained that they were called because their bid was the same as another contractor, but they could repair it that same day. They said they would do the work for the originally quoted price and would talk to the individual that was quoting prices. They did the work in a professional manner, had all the tools necessary, and in less than an hour the job was finished. Again, they were friendly, courteous, professional, and had a competitive price....before the $20 fuel charge.

As the technician was tuning my garage door, he broke the spring, and it ended costing me almost another $300. Granted, the spring on door was old, but I think I would have gotten another year of service out of it if the technician didn't touch it. I think the tune up itself was ok and worth the amount I paid (not more, not less). But since he broke (or led it to an early demise) I think he should have given me a discount on the replacement.

We originally contacted Precision because our garage door would open with the remote, but would not close with the remote. We had to shut the door with the inside button. Within minutes, Jeff Larson, our technician, showed us that the electronic eye on the door was misaligned and he fixed it. We had an Angie's List coupon which entitled us to either free rollers or a key pad. We opted for the rollers. After inspecting the door, Jeff showed us how our springs were mismatched and seriously wearing. We decided to have those replaced. Jeff was very helpful and professional and took the time to answer all of our questions.

I think it was fine. I don’t know about the price. I called the company about the garage door opener that they put in and they told me how to fix it. I now know how to fix and don’t have to call those people anymore.

Work was done quickly and cleanly.

My 2 door garage door is 60 years old and made of very heavy wooden beams and siding. The garage door motor was 2 years old and had not been properly centered so the door opened and closed in an irregular, scary manner. The erratic motion of the door became alarming enough for me to ask for professional help. Precision responded the next day, on time. Mike, the technician, was very knowledgeable and skilled. After a quick inspection of the door's operation, he knew exactly what was needed and showed me why. Within a few hours, my very heavy door went through its up/down motions like a tamed tiger. Problem solved. Work well done.

Provider has significant time management issues. Both technician and office contacted me with conflicting date/time and then revised same after no-show on the first date. They were not aware of the other's calls. daysTechnician didn't seem real sure about what he was supposed to do. Recommended expensive repairs and wanted an immediate commitment from me. I asked for a written quote. Have not received this after 10+ days. The lack of punctuality and response is unacceptable. I will no use their services.

They did the tune-up and everything went well. I did have them replace a spring in addition to the Big Deal, which is where the extra $300 comes in.

Service was adequate, The individual doing the work was less than preposessing. No idea whether prices for the additional parts or services to rectify problems uncovered were fair. Door has worked impeccably since. I could not shake the notion that the offered service was only a means to encourage the purchase of new products. The repairs were characterized a temporary with the warning that the opener could fail at any time.
