Description of Work: Precision door came out and looked at the door and the motor, gears, the shape the door was in etc. He noticed a big gap where the door was falling apart and suggested a new door. He said that area of the door could be repaired but it would not be worth the cost, which would be around $600.00 He wrote up an estimate of $900 for a new door or $1300 for a "sandwich door" (with insulation). He gave me a single paged brochure to help us decide. He did not replace or tune up any parts to the workings of the door eg. ball bearings, chain, gears etc. We are now contemplating getting a new garage door and the $89 service was not used at all.

Description of Work: They provided the $89.00 tune up service on the garage door that I had purchased the coupon for. Then told me the springs were too weak for the size of my garage door and they would have to charge extra for those, and labor to install them. Also I only had one remote garage door opener for the garage door, and they said it would cost me $40.00 to provide a new one so I would have two. So, in addition to the $89.00 I had already paid for the tune up, it cost me $425.00 extra for the new garage door springs and the new remote control. I felt this was an upsell of services that was overpriced. I went ahead and had the work done and the garage door does work better, but I am not sure I paid a fair price.

Description of Work: we purchased replacement roller service so garage door would be quieter..when the technician arrived he assessed we already had the best rollers you can buy therefore no need for his service and to contact angies list for refund. Vendor said he would change rollers if we wanted but we already had them...

Description of Work: Trent inspected my garage door's motor, springs and hinges. He lubricated the springs and hinges which eliminated the squeaky noise the door was making when I opened and closed it. He also replaced the vertical weather stripping and suggested I use almond instead of original white color, which actually looks better than the white used when the door was installed. Thank you, Trent.

Description of Work: used a coupon and service was excellent. They found that our garage door had a broken arm and they discussed with us to check with our homeowners insurance policy first to see if the original company who installed the garage door would repair it under warranty, which we ended up doing. Very professional, courteous and responsive will use them again and refer them out.

Description of Work: The more I think about this experience, the more I'm convinced the initial offer was a ploy to come to my house and up-sell my repairs. The offer of $89.00 for a service call turned into a $300.00 charge. The repair rep would not take no for an answer when I repeatedly declined his offer! I will not respond to any Angie's list daily offer again after this bad experience. You should screen these offers for scams prior to any e-mail blast to your members.
