Description of Work: First, I have to say that getting a full A from me is nearly impossible. But this merchant pulled it of. The technician showed up on time, and was professional, friendly, polite, clean, knowledgeable and honest. He did his best to try and fit as many repairs/jobs as he possibly could within the 2 hours I had prepaid for. He did not try any "Upselling". He did not try to "find" un-needed work. and, he did not mark up parts that he used (switches, outlets) a paid him about the same price as (or perhaps even less!) as a hardware store. I am an Engineer. and was able to determine that everything he told me, about what he was doing and why, was true. When he ran in to a problem, he didn't give up until he got the job right.

Description of Work: I called Gabriel at 7AM after spending a sweltering night without electricity. I'm a single woman and needed an honest repairman. Gabriel told me he would arrive by 9AM, so I took off from work and he arrived precisely at 9:00 a.m. He fixed the problem in 15 minutes and explained what to do to avoid a repeat of the problem. I will always call Gabriel for any electical problem and will refer him to everyone I know. Gabriel is a terrific person and I trust him explicitedly. He even gave me a discount I didn't expect! Description of Work: Not sure how this company has so many great reviews. Sure, they are nice, punctual and professional but their quote was twice as much as two other companies that I had come out and quote the exact same work. I needed them to move six exterior lights by 6" and add two exterior lights. They quoted me $1170 for the job - and that included a $100 Angie's list discount! I got the same work quoted out by two other companies for $735 and $652. I'm going with the $652 company - also here on Angie's list with great reviews.

Description of Work: As part of the 2 hour Big Deal Coupon we had Power Up Electric install four puck lights in our built-in china cabinet and they wired them to the wall switch. The electrician also installed an exterior security light. They guy did such a terriffic job we had We also had him do additional work installing some wall switches. I would definately use this company again.

Description of Work: I bought a Big Deal from this company. When the guy came out, he told me that what I was asking for was a job I wasn't prepared to undertake. He took it upon himself to do the work I also needed, without using my coupon or charging me anything. He repaired some of my outlets and didn't charge a thing!!! I got a refund, and the guy had driven over 40 miles to my house to do this job, for which he got nothing!

Description of Work: I purchased the Power Electrical deal for $99 last time it was offered and I wish I hadn't. A very nice man by the name of Tony came to my house and 30 minutes early and introduced himself. I outlined 4 different jobs I needed done and he picked 2 of them to work on. It took him about 1 hr to complete the first task and then he told me he only had 30 minutes left and would not be able to complete the second task in that amount of time. I listed a couple of other small tasks and he chose one of them. Through out the 1 1/2 hours at my house all I heard was what he couldn't do again and again. I was so frustrated by the end of 1 `1/2 hours that I had him leave. Never once did he offer to work over the 2 hour contract or outline additional fee's to complete any of my electrical tasks. I didn't receive a receipt for the work or anything even though I asked for one. I ended up hiring another electrician to come and complete my electrical tasks and he took only 2 hrs. to do everything and charged $120.00. Please stop recommending Power Electric. They do not provide timely service. I prefer to have someone that has a can do attitude rather than someone that wastes my time telling me what they can't do.

MARTIN CAME OUT ON 5/7/12 AND FIXED THE WORK I WANTED DONE WHICH WAS FIXING THE CHAIN ON MY CEILING FAN AND REPLACING A LONG FLUORESCENT BULB IN MY DEN. WE AGREED ON REPLACING 4 FLUORESCENT UNITS FOR $800.00 AND HE CAME BACK NEXT DAY PROMPTLY AT 8AM WITH A HELPER AND THEY REPLACED THE UNITS AND CLEANED UP AND PUT THINGS BACK. MARTIN AND I DISCUSSED AN UP-GRADE FOR MY ELECTRICAL BOX AND I AGREED ON THE PRICE OF $2200.00. THIS COMPANY IS VERY PROMPT AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE AND I WILL BE USING THEIR SERVICE FOR ALL MY ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. THERE IS NOTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS COMPANY, ONLY POSITIVE PRAISE AND THANKS. I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN AND I APPRECIATED THEIR PROFESSIONALISM.

Description of Work: I purchased a $99. deal for 2 hours of electrical work. I called the number and the gentleman said he was busy so he couldn't make any appointment for at least 2 weeks. That was fine. He asked what I needed and I gave him a list of mostly small projects that needed to be done. However I told him that I think I needed a balist ?? replaced in my kitchen. He told me that replacement parts for fluorescent lights are no longer available and the whole unit would have to be replaced. I asked how much does that run and he just kept saying it is cheap. I couldn't believe that parts were no longer available so I called several electricians and they all told me that this guy was scamming me and trying to sell me expensive equipment that I didn't need. I was told it runs about $2000. to replace the units and that replacement parts for fluorescent lighting were absolutely available. I called an independent electrician outside of Angie's list who came and said all I needed was new bulbs. He replaced the bulbs and completed all my other small projects for the price of a service call of $65.00. Buyers Beware of this electrician, he is not honest.

Martin showed up on time and got right to business offering suggestions along the way. Neat and efficient, knowledgeable, reasonable fees and just plain terrific. Not that I am in a hurry to have to use an electrician right away again, but when I do, Power Up will get the call.

Description of Work: I bought a "Big Deal" a few months ago as I figured I had a few small electrical projects that would need to be addressed. Then the light in my bedroom ceiling fan went out. As the only source of light in the room it needed fixing fast. I emailed Gabriel at Power Up Electrical to advise what I needed done and arrange a time that worked for both of us. He responded quickly, we exchanged a few emails to solidify things (and I found a few more small jobs that needed to be addressed as well). Gabriel kept in contact with me on the day of the job and advised when he was running a little late. He arrived shortly after, was efficient, careful and clean and worked fast. Everything worked out great! In addition to fixing the ceiling fan light (it was the wall switch) he replaced an outdoor motion light sensor and also checked out my attic ceiling fan which had not been going on as needed. Turns out it wasn't broken just had to reset the thermostat to a lower temp. I really appreciated Gabriel's responsiveness and efficiency and would use him again.

A family owned operated company, which always makes me feel better and Frank showed up, and could not have been any friendlier and accommodating completely understanding what needed to be done. He was fast, clean and again, smart and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend and thank Angie's List for sending out their coupon!
