Martin and Joe were efficient and professional. The patch work done on the drywall after the electric work was done, looked better than it did before.

Our tankless water heater stopped working. I suspected it was electrical instead of the unit itself and Gabriel talked me through how to confirm it was electrical over the phone thereby saving me calling out someone by mistake. Once we confirmed it was electrical, Frank showed up on the same day. He traveled through biblical rains to correct the problem quickly and efficiently.

It went well got done what we needed, did it pretty fast and at a reasonable price. Would probably use these guys again when a problem arises.

The provider was excellent. Came on time. Did a complete troubleshooting of my front exterior lights. Found the problem. Made the repairs and the cost was as advertised. The team went above and beyond by reviewing the entire lighting system and them making recommendations for upgrades. The team was neat, courteous, responsive to my questions and worked hard to get my lights back on. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for an electrical company to service your residential needs.

Had been experiencing power losses in home for a few months (2 story, 20 years old): all major and minor appliances had been struggling as if not on full power. Neighbors were not not affected. Searched Angie's List, called Power Up and talked to Gabe (the company owner). He listened carefully and suggested we call LA DWP; I persisted on the need for help, so he scheduled an inspection for the next day. He arrived on-time with an apprentice (Mike). Both of them were very personable and walked me through each activity he was doing and explaining what the results meant. After testing the electrical panel, he was able to show corrosion in various areas, as well as demonstrate that the power loss was at the meter and not in the panel. He again said I that should call the LA DWP and I did. He charged me for the service call that day. Lesson learned: when Gabe says call the DWP first, please listen to him. The DWP came the same day (yay, DWP!), and, after testing, replaced the wires from the alley service to the house and, at Gabe's instruction, left the meter unlocked so Gabe could continue with more extensive testing on his next visit. Called Gabe after the LA DWP left and he scheduled an appointment for the next day. Again, he arrived on-time with his apprentice. After more testing, with and without loads from the house (for example, running the microwave), he was able to pinpoint 3 corroded circuit breakers. Luckily, they were a common design that he had in his van. Although, he actually made 2 service calls, he calculated the bill as if it were only one service call, with repairs, by reducing the second visit by the amount paid on the first visit. Great customer service and will use him again.

I bought the four hour service deal for $260 and paid an additional $77 for materials. I needed wiring repairs to correct unsafe conditions for a garbage disposal, a stove cooktop, and two outlets. I planned to use any extra time to update several outlets. The service techs, Wilson and Marcos: 1) installed new conduit for the garbage disposal wiring and added an outlet (under sink); 2) added an outlet for the stove cooktop (in cabinet under stovetop); 3) did troubleshooting on two outlets which were sparking; and 4) updated three outlets (including the two mentioned above). Over all, I was very pleased with the services performed. Wilson and Marcos were excellent; Gabriel was prompt and very accomodating in terms of scheduling. While I would have liked to have more outlets updated in the four work hours (2 techs X 2 hours), all the problem areas I wanted taken care of for safety reasons were addressed. Note: the new outlets for the garbage disposal and the cooktop were not flushmounted with the wall as I expected, but put in silver boxes which projeced out from the wall. The new outlets served the purpose of eliminating the safety hazard, but if you are fussy about such things and prefer even undersink new outlets flushmounted, you might want to ask about this prior to the install.

This is the third time I have used Gabriel's services and I have not been disappointed. After spending over an hour hanging our Christmas lights we discovered that our outdoor electrical outlet was broken. A few days later I emailed Gabriel and he was able to get someone out the same day. New box installed and Christmas lights glowing! I really appreciated that Gabriel gave me a price break because I am a repeat customer.

I called the business to make an appointment for some recessed light that won't work.The owner answer the phone, and after some probing questions, he said that someone will be there in a hour! Gabriel (the owner's son) shows up exactly a hour later. He is super nice and professional ,and fixed the problem pronto!

I would use the services of Power Up Electric except that they don't work in my area. I needed some advice over the phone before hiring an electrician and he took the time to explain the answer to me. He should teach! He had me draw a simple sketch of the socket we were talking about and gave me a lesson on each part in order to explain the polarity. And he let me know that it was an easy fix. Thank you so much! Before reaching him, I tried 4 other electricians from Angie's list, I couldn't reach 3 of them and the 4th one was a bit snooty and wouldn't give advice over the phone.

It went wonderfully the man was on time and generous and installed our ceiling fan with no problem. The price was good and he even cleaned everything up very thankful for the job done.

Gabriel was on time for the estimate appointment. He was also very friendly. We asked for an estimate to connect our surround sound system to our new TV. There lots of wires and cables everywhere from the old TV so we were also asking to have the wires cleaned up and hidden behind the TV. I really liked that Gabriel took his time to inspect everything and even asked for the owners manuel for the surround sound so that he could make sure he was familiar with the system. He said he would go back and do some research and get back to us with a cost estimate within the next 24 hours. The problem is, we never heard back from him. I even called him and left a message requesting the estimate. He never returned my call. I think in the end he felt the job was more work than he wanted to do. Since the cables and wires were a mess, I actually don't blame him for not wanting to do it. But I would have appreciated a call back even if it was to say he was taking a pass on the job. Not calling back ever was unprofessional. Very disappointing.

Power Up re-wired my home and installed new interior and exterior lighting. Their work is extremely high quality and they are an absolute pleasure. Five stars on every mark. Highly recommended!

This is a great company! They did two projects for me. They moved a power outlet in my bathroom. The owner's son did the work. He was so knowledgeable and friendly that I decided to use them again to mount a flat screen TV and shelf. They show up on time and complete the work in a reasonable amount of time. The end result was fantastic.

It went Great !! I was very worried about the permit process. I was afraid of the city inspector snooping around the house looking for hazards and such but the owner of Power Up Electric Gabriel Chan assured me that everything would turn out fine as planned. He was very confident on his team?s ability to perform the job by code without further inspection needs. I called other Electrical Companies like SDS and Mr. Electric of Ventura. Sds took a while to respond to my second question regarding the permit experience. Mr. Electric scheduled me for a quote a week away. Power up was quick to schedule me the next day and explain in detail the permit process. I am very satisfied with my purchase and with Power Up performance and quality. Great communication. Fast Installation. Very reliable. My Electrical Panel has been working beautifully. I highly recommend them. Martin is Gabriel?s son and he is a really cool and intelligent guy he made me feel confident about the project. He did the work with two other employees. This is my second experience with Power Up electrical and i dont see the need to look elswhere. I remain loyal to Power Up Electric !!

Overall it went well. I had let the coupon expire and they honored it. We had a discrepancy in billing but he acted like a class act and took the charges off.

Everything went great! They were on time. The did the job in the amount of time that they said it would take. The contractors were very personable. Went the job was done they left everything clean and neat.

It was so interesting that they worked so slowly in the beginning. Then, when I needed some other thing done, they charged me more. It was a couple of hundred more than the big deal price. They speeded up on that because it was a set price. The work was good. I just thought that they misrepresented themselves. I would tell a friend or a family member to watch what they tell you about the price and to find out before you hire them or put your money down exactly what you're getting. Their pricing was about in the middle of what people charged or maybe a little bit lower. It was fair. The quality was very good.

We've owned a duplex in the Miracle Mile district for 20 years. About a month ago, we discovered after a routine inspection by the city that our smoke alarms were not to code. We had relatively new (3 years old) battery operated smoke detectors that worked fine but the city requires apartments to have the smoke alarms hard wired. (We lived in the the duplex for seventeen years so were unaware of this rule). Upon completion of the inspection, we were given only thirty days to comply. After searching on Angie's List we found Gabriel Chan and Power Up electric. We did not have time to get multiple bids on this project, however, we were so impressed with Gabriel's knowledge, customer service and professionalism that we had truly no reservations going into the project. Gabriel was ALWAYS available (either by phone or email) to answer questions and to walk us through the process. In fact, I cannot think of a single time during work hours where my call went to voicemail -- Gabriel always picked up after the first or second ring. It was a three-day job and involved some intricate scheduling because both units have tenants who not only live there but also work out of their homes. Gabriel's electricians Frank and Jose were incredibly professional, kind and were willing to work around the tenants' needs. They were immaculate in their work and they also handled ALL of the permits required by the city and arranged for the required pre-inspection by the L.A. Dept. of Building and Safety. It is Monday, 8/31 and I'm writing this review just an hour after Building & Safety signed off on the work. Additionally, I will be meeting with them again this afternoon to get an estimate for another job. I NEVER take the time to write reviews, but I was so impressed with Gabriel and his company and, in this case, I felt it was important to commend a company that goes ABOVE AND BEYOND what was needed. As you can see, I am already planning to use them again and I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends, family, other property owners, etc.

From start to finish all the employees were professional, easy to deal with, very respectful of my home. Gabriel was very through in explaining the options for doing the upgrade, explaining the current code and the best approach to the job. The crew was on time the two days the job was scheduled. Both and Frank and Martin (the supervisors) were professional. When they had a couple of issues they quickly resolved the issues and left me with a safe and clean home. Would use the company again and recommend it for any one needing electrical work in their home.

Very professional, trouble shot several things in 2 hrs. All done satisfactorily. Very good experience all around.
