We purchased an Angie's List deal for two hours of electrical service for $99. We called to set up a date to have the electrician come out and were a bit turned off by the fact that their available times were hours most people are working and unable to be at home to have the work done. However, we were lucky enough to have them come out on a Monday holiday. The experience ended up being great! The electrician managed to get the ceiling fan installed, which we'd attempted to do ourselves, but had been unable to due to some issue with the previous installation. He then inspected and corrected some faulty wiring that had been causing a few lights to flicker. He even went as far as inspecting another ceiling fan we'd installed, but had been having some issues with. He told us what the problem was and let us know how we could correct it ourselves. Would definitely call them again.

I used Angie's deal of $99 for two hours of electrical service. Frank was on time and he was very kind and efficient. He installed a new pendant light and consulted me in choosing the right height for my dining room. Since I did not have the correct light bulbs, he even gave me some from his stash, no extra charge. Since he had some time left over, he assessed several items in my house and educated me on next steps for some home improvement. Frank was fantastic and I can only recommend the services of PowerUp Electric to anyone.

They were so great that I purchased more coupons through them. I am very happy with the services of Gabriel. They were very personable and friendly. While he was here, he gave me advice about work I need in the future and he was great!

I ended up just doing it myself so that is why I didn't use them.

We had an amazing experience with Power Up Electric. We decided to use Power Up Electric because of the awesome deal they had going on for $99/2 hours of electrical service. Frank showed up on time for our appt (early actually), and got right to work determining what was wrong with our ceiling light in the guest bedroom. In about 10 minutes, he figured it out that the ceiling lamp was the issue. We thought that might be the case, so we had purchased a new ceiling lamp for him to install. He told us it would take about 15 minutes to install and for us to think about the next items we wanted him to do because we still had over an 1hr. We don't have a lot of light by our front door, and we dislike having the light on all day and night just so we can actually have light when we walk in. Frank told us that we could actually get a switch with a timer in it that would control the light above the door. So, he got to work on installing a new box for the updated switches, while my husband ran to the store to pick up the new switch. This took over our allotted 2 hours total with the new ceiling lamp and the switch but we received a special rate for the extra time. After that Frank fixed our sensor light that is over the garage. The bulb was stuck in the fixture, so he replaced the fixture. Frank was awesome and every step of the way, he talked us through what he was doing and gave us a heads up on timing. He was efficient and cleaned up after himself. He put down drop cloths and shop vacced up the floor. When he left, it was like he had never been in our house. EXCEPT for finally, the ceiling lamp works when I flip on the switch in the guest bedroom and the front door light comes on with a timer and the overhead garage light comes on when I pull up in the driveway. Awesome experience and would use them again, and ask for Frank!

Having lost partial power, we first contacted Power Up Electric. Mr. Chan advised us to check first with DWP, since it might be a problem with the outside line. DWP advised us to find a qualified electrician. We were warned that some electricians would advise replacing the entire system, and that this would not be necessary. We then called Mr. Chan back. He arrived promptly, assessed the situation, and noted that the part we had was made by a company that no longer existed. He spent time searching out a part that would work for us. As I stated above, he installed a new connection and associated parts. He added a wire with better capacity leading from the main power line to the house. This work could have cost many thousands of dollars, but by rebuilding and repairing only the damaged parts, he saved us a considerable amount of money. Everything is now working better than ever, and our system is now safer than it had been before. We are totally satisfied with all aspects of the job.

They were prompt, quick, and very tidy. An absolute pleasure and we are looking forward to using their services again!

They were great. They were exceedingly professional, exceedingly punctual, and exceedingly responsive -- they checked in with me at every stage, making sure to get my authorization before proceeding with anything incremental. They even uncovered an additional problem that I hadn't known I had ... and which would have been substantially more expensive had they not caught it when they did. (Nor was this an excuse to upsell me on more work -- they were very clear about what they could/would do at the time, and what they recommended for later.)

I saw that ad for $99 for labor and gave him a call. I described the problem and he asked me to phone or email pics to him, which I did and he described that my bulbs and rails were obsolete, the condo was built in 1977. He said I could go to a hardware store and buy what was needed and he would install them or he could pickup everything but would have to charge a markup. I told him to please do everything. He quoted me an estimate, I said fine. This was on Feb 2 and the appointment was today Feb 8. He said about mid afternoon and he arrived at 12:20. I sat down to watch some tv and he went right work. About 2:15 he was done. The lighting works great. He cleaned everything up. Professional, polite, efficient, and charged exactly what he estimated. I could not be happier and would recommend Martin Chan to anyone.

He was on time and very professional. I asked him if I needed an additional sensor and he told me no, the fixture he was installing would be sufficient. I've made another appointment to add more outlets in my home. I've used this company in the past and would do so in the future. The price for the labor and the new sensor seemed very reasonable.

Gabriel arrived before the scheduled appointment time. Very charming and professional. Examined the lights to be replaced and gave valuable recommendations. Finished the job in very reasonable time and cleaned up afterward. Will definitely use this company again .

Overall, it went excellent with the company. The instillation went fine. I had another fan that was hanging crooked and I wasn't sure if it had to be repaired or replaced. He was very honest and took his time to disassemble the fan and repair it. He saved me money and I have a lot of respect for him for being honest. He was very respectful of the house, professional and efficient.

We were very pleased with the results. The Power Up workers showed up on schedule and did their work in a timely manner. They were very courteous, friendly, and kept us informed on what they were doing and why. They protected our property and did a thorough clean-up each day. The job was a fixed price, instead of the usual hourly rate, so when I added up the actual hours Power up was here, we got a better bargain.

They were incredibly flexible as I was having the room painted at the same time and needed to coordinate schedules. Everything was done meticulously and quickly.

After the recent windstorms we had a tree knockout our chimney that fell ontop of our electrical box and mast. Power Up was the first company I hired after signing up on Angie's list. During the estimate they informed us that the box would have to be relocated due to the danger that it was just above our gas meter and in order to pass building code. They did a top notch job doing the work, getting the required permits, passing inspection and dealing with our insurance company to cover the cost of the work done. I couldn't be happier with their level of quality, workmanship, professionalism and keeping us informed during the process. They did a few extras for us without charging us like adding an electrical outlet on the exterior of the house that comes in handy when working on the outside of the house. I plan to hire them again.

The service was extremely personalized and I was definitely satisfied. I was assisted in selecting the proper timer switches for my front and back porch. The technicians were flexible about our appointment start time while I went to return the wrong switches and purchase the correct ones. You don't want to be forced to live with switches permanently installed in your home if they don't fulfill your needs so I appreciated their patience in assisting me in working all of this out. They also programmed the switches for me to automatically turn on and off at the right times of day. So far, everything is working well! And no problems with the smoke alarm. Thanks.

Great work. Gabriel's son Martin came and worked very professionally. Not super quick, but not unreasonably slow, so I wasn't freaked out about paying by the hour. I feel the price overall for the total work that was done was very acceptable. And I had some other work done previously where they guy charged a flat rate per item, and I would have saved SOOOO much if I had used Power Up for that work too! Martin is a really nice, respectful guy. Works very cleanly and cleans up when he's done, too. And Gabriel was helpful in finding me someone who could work on my heater thermostat, since they couldn't do it.

Perfect service. Performed service within 45mins. Asked if there were any electrical concerns that I wanted to him check out for either service or professional advice. Showed respect for my home by wear protective coverings on his shoes without my asking him to. Very curtious and professional. Will definitely call this company to update my power box.

Purchased the Big Deal for two hours of electrical service. Martin Chan from Power up Electric came promptly as scheduled. Wired the heating floor through the wall and installed the thermostat in exactly two hours. He was very professional and neat. After he was done I had him estimate for two ceiling fans. We will definitely use Power up Electric for our next electric service.

These guys were AWESOME. Frank from Power Up is a true professional. First thing he did was walk through the three jobs i wanted done that day, and I then let him choose which he wanted to start with. Since it had just rained, he suggested he start on the inside work first, so that if he got his boots muddy outside, he wouldn't track it inside the house. Considerate, right? That attention to detail carried through into the rest of his work. For each job, Frank made sure he understood what I was asking for, and then explained whatever options were possible for getting it done. He worked quickly, thoroughly, and went above-and-beyond my expectations in each case. I found out about Power Up through an Angie's List coupon, and based on my experience with Frank, I would highly recommend Power Up to anyone needing electrical work.

Gabriel Chan and his worker were very professional. He answered all my questions and explained exactly what we needed for our house. Gabriel even took care of the permitting we had to get through the City of Los Angeles. I am busy and do not have the time to mess around with city departments. His service is invaluable. I highly recommend Power Up Electric.

Gabriel who schedules is prompt, flexible, and communicates quickly. Frank who handles most of the work at our house is friendly, knowledgable, and extremely professional. Everything is neat and tidy when they leave and the work is done to proper contractor standards and to code. We have given these guys more work over the months because we can trust them to do it right and to have it finished. I would definitely recommend Frank and Gabriel. If I had any minor complaints it would be that quality work definitely takes more time (and costs more money) than a quickie job but you get what you pay for. Also, on our last bit of work Frank had an assistant that was not as experienced and installed a switch that shorted out due to being too close to another in a multi gang box about an hour after they left. I swapped it out and wrapped the new one with electrical tape and now everything is good as new. Particularly if you are not very knowledgable with DIY home repairs I would give these guys a shot. They seem to know what they are doing and won't steer you wrong.

Gabriel, the owner, responded quickly when I called. We discussed the work via e-mail and set up an appointment. Martin arrived on time and was friendly and professional. He was very efficient. He also answered questions I had about larger projects. I was very satisfied and plan to used Power Up shortly for some outdoor lighting I have planned.

Power Up Electrical fixed all of my electrical problems in an excellent manner. Moreover, Frank, the electrician, explained everything to me: why a function was not working and how he was going to fix it. Power Up is a great company!

Everything went well - one item was left off my list but Gabriel said they would take care of it.
