Power Up Electric Inc

The lead electrician, Gabriel, gave me a good idea of what was in store throughout the two visits and asked a lot of questions to make sure everything was to my liking (from the exact area of placement of the fans on the ceiling to which side of the blades I wanted showing). No question that I would consider Power Up for future electrical work.

We used Power Up for an inspection for safety, to fix and install electrical in the backyard of our house and to install a ceiling fan. We found them through and Angie's List Deal and liked them so much we used them again The were professional and explained everything that needed to be done in detail so that we completely understood. They answered our questions, worked in a timely fashion and cleaned up after their work. We will use them for all of our home electrical needs.

Frank did an excellent job installing the light fixture (he really helped me consider how low the fixture should hang and gave advice on what light bulbs would look best). Then he investigated and explained why what I wanted to do with the switches in the bathroom wasn't possible without some major construction, but wrote out what to look up online to find the instructions for changing the settings on one of the switches. Really above and beyond service! In addition, I referred Frank to my dad, who needed to replace some track lighting in my his office, and he was very pleased with Frank's work as well.

Redeemed my angle's list coupon with these guys. It took awhile to get an appointment because of their increased volume of appointments due to the coupon. They were punctual and finished the work 30 minutes before the 2 hour allotment on the coupon. Kind of wished I could have redeemed the extra 30 minutes for something else but they said it was only for services, not parts. They were professional and courteous.

They are great. The fan works great and is quiet. They worked for 5 hours. It was two guys and they did an excellent job and they were very knowledgeable.

He rushed me through it. He told me that he didn't know what was wrong with it. I told him I needed him to stay until he figured it out and he said he couldn't do that because he didn't know what was wrong with it. I asked him if he could call and get someone who could figure it out and he told me to just call them. He rushed through it like he had a busy schedule. He did very simple repairs around the house. I had to find a new electrician and I don't use them. It wasn't very valuable. The gentleman that came out did not have superior skills to handle a job. He wasn't a lead person and had very simple skills. I asked him to deal with a large problem and he wasn't able to do so. He wouldn't even call, he wanted me to. I told him no because he was the electrician and I hired him, he needed to do it.

I ended up not getting the work done, but he was pleasant to deal with.

Martin arrived on time both occasions and worked quickly and professionally. He spread a padded mat under his work area to keep my home clean. He did a good job and I have no complaints (I'm a bit of a perfectionist and can usually find something that isn't just right). Their usual fee is quite reasonable so I'll hire them again and pay full price.

After posting a review on Angie's list the owner of the company contacted me and was very apologetic about a patch his electrician made in my outside stucco that had cracked and the metal electrical box could be seen underneath. He came out the next day and repair the patch himself. He didn't leave till he knew I was happy with the work. I was impressed at his response and concern, so I am upgrading my review from a "B" to an "A".

Power Up Electric called ahead of time and let me know when they would be there and they were a few minutes early which was great. Gabriel showed up and he was very nice and wanted to see the projects that I wanted completed. I had 4 sensor lights to be replaced with new ones. Gabriel made sure my wires were functioning before installing the new fixtures, brackets in place and all the screws were tight. I really appreciated that he even fixed one of my boxes that was loose. We tested the lights, each one at a time to make sure I was happy with them before we moved on to the next one. Being careful, clean and cautious with electrical work is necessary and Gabriel does this very well. I also appreciated being able to communicate with Gabriel via email before hand to ask questions and to plan. Having this good experience is also about being prepared and organized ahead of time. I had all my new fixtures ready to go, I'm very happy with Power Up Electrical and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again when I need an electrician.

I purchased a Angie's Deal coupon and contacted Gabriel via email. After about a week of email tag, an appointment was scheduled. The very personable, courteous, and professional technician arrived earlier than scheduled and waited patiently in his vehicle, since it was a work day and I arrived 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment. I told the technician 2-3 areas of concern and he generously investigated those concerns and then, installed the motion detector light in the most reasonable location. He also advised on some next steps to improving and upgrading the electrical "system" in our newly purchased, but very old (1928) home.

I took advantage of an angies "big deal " offer expecting the work I needed to have done would only take around 4hours. The work ran way over that time ( 8 hours ) but since I had never needed an electrician before that is most likely my ignorance in not realizing how much was involved. I was not adverse to paying for the extra time. I did feel that being charged for everything I didn't provide myself, including the wire they had to use, was a bit much! So a job I expected to pay 400.00 for Was twice the amount. But I did get everything done that I wanted. The electrician was friendly and professional. I'm very pleased with the quality of the work. My only other complaint is that a patch he made to cover a hole he drilled in the exterior stucco was not thick enough and now has cracked and you can see the metal electrical box underneath. I will have to have that redone. I would use this company again, but buyer beware. You will be charged for every possible item they have to use.

Overall the experience was quick and easy. Frank took responsibility for any issues and made sure to fix them before leaving the house. I will be contacting Power Up in the future, as I need to replace my existing recessed lights with Insulated ones. Good job, and thank you!

The price seemed a little high to me but I don't know. They gave an estimate of about $1,500 so they were over but they were very clear about what they needed to do. He did warn me that it was a rough estimate. It took them a couple of days to do the work and it was big job. They were really personable. We did have some trouble with one of the circuits being faulty and they came back out after hours. To install the flood lights, they had to put some holes in the wall and they patched it up nicely.

I purchased an Angie's List "Big Deal" for two hours of electrical service. After contacting Mr. Chan, we scheduled my service for noon on May 30. Frank, the electrician, was here a bit before noon, introduced himself in a friendly and professional manner, and then asked what project I had in mind. I showed him where I wanted the light to be installed (I had already purchased it) and he carefully assessed the job. He was particularly thoughtful about minimizing any damage to plants that were in the way. His attention to detail was a noticeable trait as was his willingness to answer my questions and give suggestions about the project at hand and other electrical concerns I had. Because I was so pleased with Frank's competency and overall manner I decided to pay for an extra hour and have him install two in-wall timers. While he worked on the motion lights, I went to a local store to purchase one of the timers (a digital, in-wall timer).I had several questions about the "how-tos" of installing timers which he answered thoughtfully and thoroughly. He is, I believe, an excellent teacher, being able to tailor his comments to the particular listener.The second timer Frank replaced was on the patio and we used the old timer from the first replacement. Because I didn't have the instructions for this timer, I told him I'd program it when I found them. Unfortunately, the timer didn't work as expected, but after I mentioned this to Frank in an e-mail, Gabriel indicated that they would come and check it out for me. This response from the company was immediate.I cannot speak highly enough about my positive experience with Frank, specifically, and with the company overall. I will definitely call them for any electrical work I have done in the future.

Bought their coupon of $99 for $200 worth of services (2 hours of service.) When I contacted them, they requested that I send them an email of what I would like done. I told them and they said it would take more than the 2 hours of work and they would have to give me an estimate. Got an estimate of approx. $300, minus a $99 credit for the coupon. I told them that I had PAID $99 for $200 worth of work and so, common sense dictates that I should get a $200 credit and pay the difference of $100. Gabriel would only honor a credit of what I actually paid for the coupon. Wow...classic bait-and-switch. I contacted AngiesList Big Deal dept who agreed that I should have been given a credit of $200, and that they would intervene and speak with the owner. Gabriel wouldn't budge. AngiesList apologized and credited me my $99. I then spoke with another company about their $89 coupon for 2 hours worth of work. They gave me a better estimate and credited me the proper amount so I purchased their coupon and saved myself an additional $45, and couldn't have been happier with the work done.

The wiring inside the housing on 2 of my ceiling fans had become unwound when I removed their light kits to clean them. I couldn't get the light kits reattached due to the twisted wires inside their housings and decided to use Angie's $89 Big Deal coupon for 2 hours of electrical work. Frank came to my home and had the ceiling fans checked, repaired, and the light kits reattached in short order. With the time remaining, I had Frank check the wiring throughout the house, inside and out. I also had lots of questions regarding replacement of light switches. I didn't know the difference between a toggle switch or a decora switch or anything about controls or poles. Frank was very patient in answering my questions and explaining things to me in terms that I could understand, given my ignorance of matters electrical. The two hours passed quickly and I am very satisfied with both the repair and education I received on this deal. Also, Power Up Electric was very accommodating in letting me schedule my appointment well beyond the expiration date on my coupon.

I was very happy. He came when he said he would and he was careful not to damage anything. He had it done very quickly. The price was a little more than I expected but it was okay. Everything is well so far.

I called the company and spoke to Mr. Gabriel Chan who set up an appointment to do the work based on my schedule. He gave me an estimate over the phone which could change depending on the actual amount of installation time required. This was okay with us. His staff, Martin, came promptly at the scheduled time and looked over the new fixtures and their new location. He got to work and didn't stop until all 8 fixtures were installed. At times, he provided some good ideas to best position a fixture that we hadn't thought of. Very helpful. We could tell Martin knew his profession well. He also kept everything protected with thick cloth covers while working and cleaned everything up as he moved to the next fixture. No doubt we will be calling him back for our next job.

Gabriel and his team were on top of things, very courteous and knew exactly what they were doing. I will definitely use them again!

I purchased a $99 certificate for 2 hours of electrical service to give Power Up Electric a try. Gabriel returned my call to set up an appointment right away. Frank, the electrician, show up at the appointed time. He was very courteous and professional. He installed a new digital timer which controls a porch light and a side light for my garage; then took the time to inspect and inventorize all my outdoor low voltage light fixtures (I have a lot of them) that require work. Gabriel provided me with an estimate to complete the repairs, and arranged for Frank to start work within the week. Because the extent of the project turned out to be a bit more involved then first thought, Frank had to return for a second time before everything can be finished. Throughout the entire process, Frank has been a joy to work with. My outdoor lights now all work and look great. I will definitely use them in the future.

Beyond that I peppered the tech with questions, the kind that only come from someone who has studied a subject enough to be annoying about it. He was pretty patient with me, answering everything and giving me the quotes I requested and not trying to upsell me on anything, which always backfires with me in short order. - He showed up on time, called in advance- Was prepped to work- Did the work I asked- Cleaned up- Didn't pressure me to buy anything else- Didn't try to get out of there as fast as possible, took his time with me- Answered all my questions I'd use them next time.

Excellent! Gabriel was very responsive over email and phone. Also, we needed this done on a rush as the electric panel began failing during our inspections and Gabriel was able to arrange for a crew to arrive on very short notice, and even had them come back to finish the job on a Saturday so that we wouldn't have to go the weekend without power. Gabriel and crew (including son, Martin) arrived right on time (even a few minutes early) to get started. The job took two full days to complete. They replaced the entire electric panel and conduit running up the house to the weather-head feed from the pole. They also replaced a lot of our internal wiring while they were tracing and labeling the circuits. They did fantastic work, were always very friendly, professional and clean. They clearly take a lot of pride and care in their work, and the end-product shows it. This is difficult, dirty, intricate and dangerous work, and Gabriel's team was great! Beyond doing such great work on the job itself, Martin completed a few other odd-jobs around the house for us (replacing a broken pull-chain light, installing 4 light fixtures, and helping us repair our front-porch light which). We are extremely satisfied with the entire experience we had with Gabriel and the PowerUp team. We would certainly use them again for any electrical issues and highly recommend them!

Gabriel was very responsive to my request for work to be done. He was ready to begin work almost immediately and scheduled it to be convenient for me. Frank and his helper Jose arrived a little early which was OK since I was prepared for them. Frank was very articulate and took the time to explain everything and was obviously a knowledgeable electrician. I very much appreciated his thoroughness and asked for several estimates for other electrical work I need to have done. We have experienced some crazy electricians in the past and were extremely happy with this company. I will definitely use Power Up again.

I had bought the Angie's List coupon for this company. Technician Martin was exactly on time, was very professional and polite. He immediately diagnosed the source of every problem and promptly dealt with each one within the two hours that was the length of the coupon contract. One of the problems demanded some rewiring which as handled on the spot. Another of the problems demanded a new switch. I was informed of the fair price of the switch that was in stock on the truck and it was immediately installed. That switch was the only item not included in the coupon deal. All of the work was accomplished in a very neat, efficient and professional manner. I would definitely use this company again.
