Run! Don't even think twice, just hang up on these guys before they sell you into the worst move you'll ever experience. Trust me, once you call them to ask about the status of your items in transit, they'll be the ones to hang up on you. That sweet-talk and customer-centric tone they poured on you during your cold call sales pitch will disappear quickly. I want to save as many people as possible from making the mistake of doing business with Pacific Coast Moving (PCM). I also find it important to expose a company that carelessly handles other people's items, reneges on its promises, argues with you instead of admitting fault, tell you your delusional when you state your case, and intentionally hang up on you after you ask about the whereabouts of your items. I'm hoping Pacific Coast Moving LLC does not pass me off as a fake customer. If they do, I have a copy of my invoice saved for all interested parties. Listen, I'm just asking anyone that's in the market for an honest company to assist with their long-term move to take this review into consideration. I simply do not want anyone else to have to go through one of the most horrible experiences I've ever been apart of. Here are the details of this nightmare: On May 15th, I negotiated a contract with the Pacific Coast Moving LLC sales representative to have my items shipped from Orange County, CA to Allen, TX on June 1st, but no later than June 15th (the sales rep even stated that it's possible my items may even arrive earlier). These were the conditions that were agreed upon and a contract was signed. I anticipated my furniture to arrive the weekend before or during the week of June 1st (according to their sales pitch), but I had no furniture when I arrived and no communication from the operations team. I constantly contacted my sales rep but they just repeated the same ol' line: "We'll call you back once we have an update." On June 8th, I get a call from the truck driver (unbeknownst to my sales rep) saying they're about an hour out. Finally! I take off from work to meet the moving crew at my apartment. I pay them the amount owed and they begin to unload the truck. But wait, it gets better, the items on the truck belong to someone else! They sent the wrong shipment all the way from California to Texas! Unbelievable. I called Pacific Coast Moving and they said, "Well, our company is going to have to eat the costs on this one. (This was untrue. They have yet to offer any type of remedy to the situation, they denied saying this, and called me delusional for bringing it up). The movers call me back at midnight and tell me they found my lamp, half of my desk, and my bicycle so they bring it to me the next morning at 6 AM. Another week goes by and I'm still sleeping on the floor. I called the company and they tell me they're not responsible for what happened and that I'll have to talk with the Operations Manager at customer service. I call and once again, they're on the other line and say they'll call me back. After the fifth time I call, I'm forwarded their assistant's phone number - which goes directly to voicemail. At this point, I can't get through to anyone over the phone and the only thing I receive are texts saying they'll update me when my items have shipped. I'm now being avoided. What's really going on is that they lost my shipment and were avoiding me until they were able to locate it. My calls continue to be avoided, I keep getting the same, "We'll call you back once we have an update," and I even continue to be hung up on! It's now June 18th. I had the option of going with three other moving companies but now I've been sleeping on the floor for 20 days straight, have 95% of my furniture missing, and have been hung up on more times in the past two weeks than I have in 10 years. At this point, I've posted my preliminary review on Google about the horrible treatment, neglect, and disrespect Pacific Coast Moving personel have shown me during the course of this fiasco. The next afternoon, I get a call from the loading manager responsible for shipping out the wrong furniture. He calls me, confeses that he's about to get fired unless I take my review down. He tells me he has a wife and that he can't afford to lose his job and that he'll willingly pay me $500 out of his pocket to take my review down. I told him I'm sorry but it's unfair to me that this company is putting me in this position and that this is a matter of principle. Is this guy really asking me to take $500 to withold information about this company's controversial business tactics to leave a future customer misinformed and vulnerable? I told him to keep his money and to find another job. My items finally arrive on June 20th and I pay the remaining balance as promised - including the tip for the movers. I get a call from the sales rep on Father's Day asking me to talk with him man to man. He says, "Listen, if we can all just get rid of our personalities for just a second, I want to make this right for you. I know you're a man of principle and that's why I knew you wouldn't go for the $500... Wow! They knew about it! They told the loading manager to give me a call and offer me that amount in an attempt to make me feel sorry for him getting fired. I cannot believe this company. You can't make this up! Listen, folks, do yourself a favor and go with another mover. If you have a similar experience to mine, what makes you think they're not going to lie and play these games with you? This company only cares about getting paid. They exploit the leverage they have once your items are in their possession and will leave you hanging out on a limb. They will use any trick in the book and play mind games with you to avoid taking responsibility for the mistakes they make. Lastly, they fail to communicate when an issue arises and they are completely disrespectful. Tip: In the event, you decide not to take my advice, at least make sure to take a screenshot of the initial contract you sign because they won't provide you with a standard PDF and there will be no way to reference it. Also, make sure to document every conversation, whether it be over the phone, through text messages, or by email correspondence.
