General Contracting specializing in doors, windows, fences and decks. I also do everything necessary for new owners to prepare their new house for move in. Flooring, skim coat drywall, and painting are also projects that I have quite a bit of knowledge in. Award wining.
Randy arrived exactly on time for the job. After reviewing the things that we needed to have done, he immediately headed out to pick up supplies at the local hardware store. He repaired the drainage problem in the sink within a matter of minutes. Next, he built a new step leading onto our deck; making it precisely to the specifications that we had discussed. Afterwards, he painted the step and added a stain to our large deck. By the time the work was done, Randy had completely cleaned and swept up al the debris. Randy is a very talented contractor, who is truly a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to home repairs and construction. Aside from arriving on time, completing the work discussed, and offering a fair price for his services, Randy does a wonderful job!
Description of Work: Randy built a large wooden step leading onto our deck, as well as adding a railing/handle by the door. In addition, he painted the deck, along with repairing a sink in the main bathroom.

Randy made quick work of a long delayed project in my storage room. After nonresponses to many inquiries I had made, including another high rated Angie's List vendor, I was relieved to finally have this project completed. Randy had a clear vision of the scope of the project, and charged me a very fair price. It was only a week between his initial visit and project completion, and that included a custom fitted, nonstandard sized, prehung door. It's a relief that I finally found a contractor who wasn't too snooty or lazy to take some Average Joe's $975 job. I will use him again in the for future, and recommend him to my HOA..

did a great job, explained the issue (which wasn't as major as i thought) easily resolved ... someone else could have BS something to me and cost me way more $$$ and stress. He worked very efficiently and accomplished the task within an hour allowing me to have him accomplish one other task within the hour (2hr min to hire) that would have taken me like 4hrs to accomplish. One constructive comment: I am a super neat freak and wish he had swept up more of the wood sanding dust, or maybe he was going to, and i am just so neurotic that i was out with the broom before he had actually removed all his tools, haha. Thanks man ... looking forward to hiring again.

I found them on Angie's List. They did a very good job on the ceiling. I have recommended them to other people too, they were very good. I called around lots of places, and they were competitive, and friendly in every category.

We got estimates from three contractors on our hillside deck. Randy's price was the lowest of the three. Randy was punctual and friendly, and was helpful in talking with us about the details of our project. To help us decide on the seating style, he even mocked up a bench. It was beautiful -- the redwood had a gorgeous stain and the carpentry details were meticulous. Unfortunately, after we figured in permitting costs, we realized we couldn't afford the project at this time. If we ever can, Randy will be at the top of our list.

I offered to find and replace her hydraulic closing mechanism, but I would have to charge for the time to do so. If she found or ordered one, I would make time to install it, saving her a little money because she told me it was a rental. I charged a minimal amount for my time to come and take a look at that as well as fix a few small things she needed done. I'm sorry she wasn't completely satisfied.

O'Malley Construction is great! Randy O'Malley is very friendly and professional. He rebuilt a pillar on my front porch that was damaged due to dry rot and termites. It looks wonderful, like the best carpenter's work! Randy also gave me by far the fairest estimate for the work that I had received. He also did some additional work on my wooden mailbox both inside and outside the house at the last minute. I would hire O'Malley Construction again anytime! Anne

I am disappointed in [member name removed] review. I take my reviews very seriously. I strive for nothing but all A's. Sometimes people may not understand that anything other than that is a mark on my record. Punctuality is something I hang my hat on. I was contacted by the concierge that she needed someone as soon as she could. I immediately called her and told her I could be there in a half an hour(which normally I cannot do). She asked if it could be closer to an hour. I arrived when we agreed. She agrees with that. I was told it was a simple doorknob swap out. Her door was not bored for a new knob, so having the tool on hand, I cut a new hole for her. I told her it would create some dust, but she was OK with that. I was quite aware of cleanliness from the start because she asked me to wash my hands when I first got there. I swept up and wiped the floor with a wet towel to get any dust. Finally, my minimum sevice charge is normally 2 hours, but for Angie's list members I try my best to help out the best I can. In this case I told her I could stop by for a one hour fee of $40. I left a job in progress with my guys so I could accomodate her. I am sorry that [member name removed] did not see her experience with me the same way as I did. Randy O'Malley

This is the second time we have worked with O'Malley and Randy has done an awesome job both times. Everything was completed quickly, nicely, and he left the place clean. Several months ago he painted several rooms, repaired walls, and fixed a number of little things around the house. I have referred him to my friends and will continue to call him in the future.

We hired O'Malley construction originally because of Randy's prompt response to our phone call and quick turnaround of a very comprehensive quote. The remodel of our 1950's house was extensive but Randy was able to handle all the different trades required to complete the job. as well as do some of the work himself. He was very clear on the costs, time to complete and met his deadlines. As we got into the remodel, there were some surprises and additional costs. He was honest and tried to work with us on not only price but to find solutions to keep the costs down. When he saw something that was not right or required updating, he brought it to our attention and with a solution. We would gladly work with him and his team again in the future. The house turned out perfect.

Randy arrived exactly at the appointed time, and went to work immediately after I discussed what needed to be done. Our house was built in 1933, and still has many of the original accoutrements of an old Spanish style house. The large drawer in the bathroom had become nearly impossible to pull out; to the point that we had nearly broken off the handle. Randy repaired this problem quickly and efficiently. Next, he added new hinges on the laundry room door; as our old ones made it very easy for someone to break into the house. Shortly afterwards, Randy completed the other things on our list (i.e., rehung the bathroom mirror securely; added new caulking around the sink; and moved & shortened a towel rack in the kitchen). Initially, I contacted another handyman come out to give an estimate. This fellow carried on about how the door hinges would be a "huge" job, as well as indicating that the bathroom drawer would take a great deal of time to repair. What's more, the man wanted more than three times what Randy charged! Overall, Randy was courteous, professional, and extremely capable in all areas of his work.
Description of Work: We have a large bathroom drawer that had come off its runners and was nearly impossible to pull out. Furthermore, our laundry room door was in need of new, secure hinges. In addition, we needed someone to rehang a large mirror, re-caulk the kitchen sink, and cut-down a large towel rack so that it could fit in a smaller place.

Randy was very punctual in showing up for the bid and also to do the actual work. Came with a helper (Tom ??) and both were very friendly and worked continuously for approx 5 hours. Randy made the trip to home depot for materials twice since the I changed my mind on the type of siding. Workmanship was neat and professional. Good dudes !! Would recommend Randy O'Malley and I would call him again.

I interviewed 3 contractors, and not only did Randy have the best price - he helped me catch signs of a previous rodent infestation in the attic that our home inspector missed! Our living room ceiling was low and had a cottage cheese texture that felt very dated. Randy and his team plastered over the ceiling to make it smooth and now my ceiling feels higher. After the great paint job on the walls and ceiling - the room feels bigger and more modern. Our floor used to slope, especially in the middle of the house and at the perimeters where several additions were made.We were VERY hesitant about doing expensive foundation repairs and nervous on creating further damage inside our home.Randy was super passionate that the work needed to be done because he felt it was the right thing to do.And in the end, I'm really glad we did! The foundation inspection revealed that we had almost no support underneath our bathroom and kitchen, which would have been problematic for all the tile we wanted to install. After the foundation was fixed, not only did that get rid of sloping floors but now all our doorways are straight. We had a non load bearing wall between a small bathroom and a microscopic powder room.Randy was helpful in going to city hall and telling me what to do so I could get our new bathroom permitted. In the end, he turned two small useless bathrooms into our gorgeous master bathroom. He moved the doors for our Jack and Jill Bathroom that helped increase light and improve flow in the layout. He also selected very heavy high quality doors that would be helpful for muffling noises in the bathroom. Overall, Randy was punctual and willing to listen when we got concerned over the budget and the usual "developments" that come with buying a huge fixer upper and discovering you need to fix/pay for more than you bargained for. But he brought on good subcontractors like his plumber Gino and Carlos who has a great eye for paint. Real decent people who do good honest work and are very polite and respectful to our neighbors while we were out of the house. Towards the end our work schedules went crazy and we could not be as attentive to the remodel. We had to be a little more reliant on email - which was difficult sometimes because Randy is easier to talk to in person or on the phone. But to be fair, when we requested meetings on weekends during his usual day off, Randy was always willing to make time for us.He even had some of his folks come over on weekends to do quick touch ups just so we could move into our house on time. And yes - everything was done on schedule! I am very happy with Randy and O'Malley Construction. He's a good guy and deserves your business.
Description of Work: General Contractor overseeing complete remodel of our "new" home, a 1924 Spanish 2BR Bungalow. Remodel included plumbing, foundation repair, plastering over ceiling, replacing wooden floors, installing tile, permitted bathroom remodel, door replacement, installing new light fixtures, repainting entire interior, window replacement, security bar removal, gutter installation.

To be honest, the initial attempt did not go well. It took a full day of work and, after Randy left, I realized that the roof line had no significant improvement. I thought that was the last I'd see of Randy, but I contacted him and he returned as soon as he could to repair the roof line. Second attempt was well-done, but most importantly I appreciated Randy's character and his determination to make sure the job was done right.
Description of Work: Roof was sagging at corner due to long eaves and heavy roofing material (CalShake). O'Malley Construction replaced several rafters and straightened roof line.
Randy O'Malley was the right handyman for us, and we plan to use him again. He gave a reasonable estimate, scheduled a time in the near future, stayed in contact by phone and Email, and cleaned up the work mess. Much of the work involved fixing collateral damage from electrical, plumbing, and heating remodelers. He did a good job at varied tasks that involved carpentry, drywall, painting, and repair. At the time of his original estimate he alerted us to a serious wiring problem that he recommended should be fixed by a licensed electrician. (Mr. O'Malley has electrical talent but felt the task called for a more skilled tradesman.) Although it delayed his job, it was the smart thing to do and gave us confidence in his skills and integrity.
Description of Work: Randy and his assistant, Carlos, installed crown molding in two rooms, patched drywall, primed a small ceiling, reinstalled sink caulk, made a new top for a sprinkler box, and reattached a dryer vent.
Randy was prompt and efficient and I was very pleased with the quality of his work. I will have him do more work for us.

We left a message and Randy called back promptly. He was right on time for the appointment we arranged. He quickly installed the pull out. The waste basket pull out works very well. We are very happy with his work.
Description of Work: Randy installed a kitchen cabinet door mounted pull out waste container tray.
We discovered the floor under the refrigerator had suffered termite damage. We were going to have a new refrigerator delivered in a few days and need to have the floor repair before the new fridge arrived. Randy was very professional and accommodating. He juggled his schedule, came out to the house the following day and did the work in just a few hours. He said the damage was not as bad as we thought it was and he replaced only a portion of the wood. He was honest and fair. We will be keeping his number and will certainly use him again when we need a handyman. He was great.

He or his workers were very respectful to start work at the time we arranged. Overall, he hires very good workers and he himself is very detailed oriented and will do a job until he is 100% satisfied with the results.
Description of Work: My husband and I have used Randy's services for both our home and our duplex rental for many years. Previously he has hung new doors, fixed and remodeled our shower stall, gave us a stationary dishwasher that previously had to be dragged across the kitchen to the sink, and he has also painted both inside and outside our duplex rental. For his most recent job (2 weeks ago), we gave him a to-do list for one of our tenants to repair her doors, repair or replace window frames as needed, washer/dryer leak and he completed all the issues in a timely, professional manner at a very reasonable price. We have always appreciated his professionalism and prices and plan to use him again in the summer to paint our home.
