He was meticulous with his measurements making sure my draperies/pictures/wall art were hung exactly as I wanted. He is more than a Handyman. Luis is a licensed electrician and plumber in addition to knowing everything there is to know about all other household items. I would highly recommend Luis and Mr Handyman. And I will definitely use Mr Handyman again if/when the need arises.

+ 2 moreI had a great experience with Mr Handyman. Dan came over to hang my TV, ceiling fan, and to fix a broken driveway gate. He was very friendly and respectful and did an excellent job. I was impressed with how quickly he worked. He was a bit late on arrival (no big deal), and without even asking they took off a good deal of money from the charge. I am already planning to use them again. I highly recommend Dan, he is an all around professional who clearly enjoys what he does.

+ 4 moreDan did an excellent job....He is super friendly, very knowledgeable, showed up on time and was efficient. My only minor complaint is Mr. Handyman's price point is pretty high, so although I would have loved him to come back and do a few other projects for us, I just couldn't afford them. However, you get what you pay for and they do great work. Would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: We just moved in....so odds & ends. Installed a screen door, hung a 70lb mirror, a fixture in a bathroom, hung a chandelier and changed out several light switches to dimmers.

+ -1 moreThe technician came on time and was extremely professional. He gave an estimate on time to complete and price. He was done 30 minutes earlier and readjusted the price accordingly. I was very impressed with his work, his professionalism, and him taking the time to explain the details of the job. I am embarrassed because I do not remember the technician's name, however, I would use him for future projects. Also, I was impressed that he had his own footwear protection and cleaned up his mess after the job was completed.
Description of Work: I spoke with David, the owner of Mr. Handyman, and explained that we needed a closet system placed in our bedroom closet. My husband and I had bought the closet system, however, were unable to get in place correctly.

+ 0 moreThe gas company discovered a leak and shut off the gas. I called Mr. Handyman at about noon and they agreed to send someone out between 4 and 6 PM. The worker showed up around 5 and said he would have to go to the plumbing store to get the proper fittings and that the job would take 2 and a half to 3 hours at a price of $500. I'm not a plumber, but that seemed a little high to replace a short section of pipe. I didn't keep close track, but he was gone for approximately 2 hours on 2 separate trips to the "store". He finally finished at 8:30 and charged me $700, which included $167 for materials. I keep looking at the pipe he replaced. It looks nice, but I just can't understand how it could be $167 worth of pipe--my guess is about $25.

+ 7 moreLuis arrived early was incredibly efficient and kind. Solved problems and got things done in a VERY timely and efficient manner. We evaluated my shower where grout was pitted and to avoid doing a re-grout (and an unnecessary expense) he suggested sealing the grout around the interior base walls. Brilliant! I had been putting off getting all these jobs done for fear of costs - but even though this company is a bit higher priced - Luis was quick and focused on getting it done. David the owner was thorough and listened to it all when I first called him and happily ALL the work was done in less time - so the price was less scary - especially when the work got done so well. I would call them again.
Description of Work: Fixed a stuck wooden swinging gate, Repaired termite damaged frame around window air conditioner, Replaced fuse in overhead stove vent fan, removed window screens so I can get them repaired, Siliconed shower base.

+ 5 moreLes was extremely knowledgeable and finished each task in a way that was better than I expected. He honestly did a better job than I had ever expected and I would definitely recommend Mr Handyman to anyone who asked. The price is a little high, but I still give it an A rating because everything was done properly and in a timely fashion. In addition, unlike other services, Mr. Handyman is always on time which is extremely important when scheduling work.
Description of Work: I had a number of services performed in one day. Services included fixing a very damaged exterior fence and gate-- they look better and work better than they have in years. Hanging several very heavy pieces of art around the house, tacking up and fixing exterior rain gutters. Creating a new frame and re screening a broken door, replacing a window in which the glass and screen were both broken, fixing several off kilter things in a guest house and cleaning out a wall/ prepping it for new drywall that had severe water damage. In addition, he identified a hard to find source of a leak, replaced the pipe and repaired and filled in holes in a bathroom-- which will save that room from future damage.

+ 4 moreGreat service! The company was able to respond on very short notice. The repairman was on time, courteous and very competent. In addition to the routine maintenance checks completed he discovered a problem with the dryer and promptly completed the repair.
Description of Work: Replaced old washer hoses and conducted the following maintenance checks of stackable washer/dryer unit: 1. Remove supply line hoses and replace with new steel jacketed hoses. Check and clean filters at the water tap before attaching the new hoses. 2. Pull out the lint screen and push a snorkel brush into the trap. Twirl the brush to fish out any globs of lint at the bottom of the trap. (A long crevice tool on a shop vac also works.) Shine a flashlight down the trap to make sure it's clean. 3. Disconnect the ductwork from the dryer exhaust and from the exterior vent. Take it outside and clean it, or replace it if necessary. 4. Working from inside, spin the vent brush a few inches into the duct leading to the outside, then pull it back and clean off the bristles. Repeat until the bristles reach as far as the exhaust hood on the outside of the building. (Don't try to shove the lint out with the brush; you may create a clog.) 5. Reassemble the metal ductwork and seal the joints with aluminum tape. (Don't connect the sections with screws, which snag lint.) The ends of the ductwork should fit snugly onto the dryer's exhaust and vent hood; no tape or hose clamps needed. 6. Test alarmed leak sensor pad for proper operation.

+ 2 moreI promise that a subsequent review will NOT be favorable. The work done was GREAT at the time, but it has not survived the few months that have passed. The cheap wood used has shrunk and warped, and in several places has absorbed the cheap paint used. If Mr Handyman wants a good review, they will have to replace the crap materials they used with a new gate, at NO COST TO ME, and replace my other gate (which I would have had Mr Handyman do if the work on the first gate was good). At NO ADDITIONAL COST. C'mon Mr Handyman... Step up to the plate, or have your bad review live on the Internet FOREVER. Love, Ron Severeid

+ 2 moreI made my initial contact with the company on a Wednesday and received an estimate of the project later that night. Due to a party i was having on that Saturday afternoon, the time frame for the work was very tight. With only a couples days notice, I was able to get a technician book for Saturday morning at 7:00. Luis showed up right on time and we looked at the area where the work was to be done and discussed the project for a few minutes. After some explanation and designs/drawings, Luis went to Home Depot to get all of the supplies and was back promptly to begin work. Luis worked all morning, periodically checking with me to get approval on his designs and how he would install the pergola. After the pergola was installed, Luis then hoisted the fallen vines on top of the pergola and helped me secure the vines to the wall. All of Luis's work was done quickly and very professionally. When he was done, he completely cleaned up the area he was working in, so that there was no evidence he was even there. All of this was done with plenty of time to spare before my guests arrived for the party.
Description of Work: Designed, built, and installed a custom pergola on my house to hold up some heavy vines.
