Mr. Handyman serving West Los Angeles

This review is for the Mr. Handyman franchise of West Los Angeles. Bryan came on time and replaced the toilet to our full satisfaction. He removed, secured and re-installed the loose flange and advised us on the loose sewage pipe in the crawl space under the house. After he was done, he took the old toilet with him for disposal. We will hire Mr Handyman / Bryan again.

At the first phone call they want 60 dollars for an estimate. This was declined.

The service technician, Danny, examined the damage and said all we needed was a new door knob/lock and suggested a dead bolt, too. (Wish I'd had one in place before. If you're reading this and don't have dead bolts on your perimeter doors, ADD THEM NOW). He said the rest could be repaired like new (really?). By the time I returned with the hardware, Danny had the doorway and door repaired and was sanding the affected areas. He primed and painted the repairs in short. It actually looks better than prior to the burglary. Amazing work by a true craftsman. I've had handymen before, but Mr. Handyman's guy was in a league of his own. The price was fair, too. Look no further.

This was a small job but important to the look of our living room. Our anxiety prone dog, decided to chew off half of the window sill of one the floor to ceiling windows in the front of our house. Mr. Handyman fixed the sill and painted the frames and baseboards. He was exactly on time and did the work efficiently and professionally. I would use him again.

I contacted Mr. Handyman on a Wednesday and set an appointment for Friday between 2-5P. I had a drapery in my living room that was hanging by the tip of one bolt. Two holders were in, one was hanging. I was afraid it would fall out. I explained the situation and while they did say they were busy that day and the next, they would come on Friday. On Friday at 4:30p I had not heard from them. I called their office and Sharon, who answered the phone, said that the serviceman had been held up on another job and would not make it out that afternoon. They NEVER checked in with me, but I had to call them! She then said that another serviceman could come out on Sunday maybe around noon. I explained that I just had a grandchild born 48 hours prior and needed to check on my schedule for Sunday. Sharon gave me her cell number and told me to call her to confirm. I called on Saturday morning and was never called back. I again tried to contact Sharon by messaging her. It is now late Sunday night and I never heard a word! I don't know how there services are, from reviews they are great. BUT, from a customer service point of view, they get an F in my book.

Mr Handyman of West Los Angeles was good but a little bit too pricey. They're a good service. I spent more money actually getting the desks assembled, than what I had actually spent for the price of the desks.

The serviceman was prompt, courteous, worked quickly, and had my new faucet/drain assembly installed in no time. The working space under the sink was very tight, and the existing faucet was very old and the connections rusted, but this did not slow him down. I was also going to have him replace the shut off valve for the toilet, but I had purchased an angle ball valve when a straight through valve was needed. He pointed out that the flex line I bought would not reach the toilet using the valve I had purchased, but then checked the existing valve and told me it was not leaking. He advised me to leave it alone for now (saving me some money!), and simply replaced the rusted floorplate. He also removed the shower arm prior to working on the faucet so that I could have plenty of time to clean the shower head with CLR before it was re-installed at the end of the visit. This was a very conscientious thing to do. I now have a beautiful new faucet that does not leak and clean and shiny shower fixtures. I was very pleased with the service I received.

He put in some tiles that had fallen out and a new bread board.

Mr. Handyman was a pleasure to deal with. Everyone in the office is polite and kind. They were able to get Daniel out to help me right away. He was great and really made sure he was doing the job right. I would definitely use them again!

We had a wire and power outlet shut out that knocked out 5 other outlets. They were prompt and thorough with their investigation to find out exactly what the problem was but I think they are very expensive.

They showed up on time and their pricing was reasonable. Their work was good.

They were very great because they accommodated me even though I called kind of last minute. They followed up and made sure that he was there on time. He was very clean, pleasant and I was comfortable having him in my home. He gave me estimates on some other work I need to have done. I just had one problem with the service. The job he did was great. It was perfect and everything I could have wanted. However there was a problem with the surface of the bathtub which neither the repair person nor I noticed before he left. After speaking with the owner of Mr. Handyman a resolution was reached on repairing the surface of the bathtub. This lets me know that they definitely stand for the quality of their work.

The work was very well done, especially the lights and the drapery rod installation--the rod was level and the paint work was flawless. On the rain gutter cleaning, one rainspout was so old it had almost rotted away, but it was clogged with leaves and couldn't be cleared without disintegrating. I wished he had somehow used a thin pole or stick to push the matter down, but he just recommended it be replaced, and said he couldn't remove the downspout because it was attached at the top. I later twisted it off after removing aluminum "ties" attached to the house, but would have preferred he called me to ask if this was ok to do himself.

They returned a call ASAP, and gave me a great quote, although I told them I wouldn't be installing the A/C for a couple of months.

It was beautifully done. I was very pleased.

The particular branch is close to where I live so that was convenient. The person who came out did a good job. It was more than I thought it was going to be, and the job took longer than I originally thought it would.

Shane assessed the situation and told me how he was going to fix the staircase treads. The "fix" was brilliant! Our staircase is better than new... no more sloping and much more stable. Shane undertook a difficult task and the result was outstanding. I highly recommend Shane.

The service professional was very puntual and good natured. The job performed was professional although it did not require taping off the metal separators between ceiling tiles and thus just needed the paint to be rolled. So a relatively simple job. Just time consuming. In the end, the quality of the work was satisfactory and met expectations.

Service went well and I would hire him again.

I had them come out and they were professional. Their pricing was very high compared to everyone else. Went with another company.
