Description of Work: I used Mr. Handyman's service to get about 20 pieces of artwork hung throughout my new home. It's a old renovated property so I wanted to hire a professional that would be very careful about not damaging the walls. Eddie, the handyman, also bolted my bookcase to the wall and even fixed one of the broken wheels. It's sitting exactly where I wanted it to sit and isn't going anywhere. In addition, he also installed a wireless doorbell system. It doesn't work reliably but I think it may have something to do with the programming of the unit and Eddie readily admitted that he's not a tech guy. I appreciated the honesty and will have this looked at by the proper person and/or return the unit. David the owner/scheduler predicted about 4 hours for the job and it came in at 3.5, saving me a little money. I think Mr. Handyman's prices are a bit more expensive than others but for the professionalism, attention to detail and accuracy, I would definitely recommend and use them again.

Description of Work: I made an appointment to have a two outlets moved and a ceiling fan installed. When the handyman came to my house we realized that he was going to need more time with the outlets so it was decided that we would do the ceiling fan another time to allow time for the outlets to be properly done and finished. However, the handyman left without finishing the job and told me he didn't have enough time. The wall was wet with drywall patches that were thick and the floor and area was a mess. I was confused because we discussed leaving the ceiling fan installation for another time to allow time to finish this job. He even supposedly, called his office to discuss. I had two otter men here who witnessed this whole interaction. They were here to mover furniture out to the way to save even more time. I paid for the job that day and then I called the business to discuss , I was lectured by the manager. He told me that different drywall repair products dry differently and that I needed to ask for one that dried quickly to get the job done completely. He also went to tell me that the technician he sent to my home was having family problems and told me that I should be more considerate. He never once listened to me as to why I was calling and why I was confused. He also lectured me for waiting a few hours to call him. I waited because I so disappointed with their service that I was deciding whether or not to give them the opportunity to rectify the matter. But I did call. He sent another technician out to finish the job the next day and told me that he would not charge me. This guy complained about an injury the whole time but did finish the job and also confirmed that he was instructed not to bill me. OK. this I felt was fair. However, a few days later I received emails again telling me about the technicians personal problems and also requesting I send more money for the job. I never got the ceiling fan installed. I will never use them again.

Description of Work: We asked them to install some plywood under our eaves and paint the wood portions of our stucco house. The initial cost estimate (made over the phone) was about $3000. When they arrived and looked at the work, they revised the estimate to about $5,000. Ultimately we paid about $7,000 and the work was not finished. (Woodwork was primed but no final coat, and incomplete caulking also). They charge a single (very high) hourly rate regardless of the skill level of the work. If we had known this at the start, we would have looked for someone else.

Description of Work: Mr. Handyman made installations throughout my home - hanging mirrors, installing shelves, etc. | |Mr. Handyman has a Service Charge of $60.00 which cannot be explained. Mr. Handyman charges a healthy $116.00 per hour and incidentals such as gas, etc. should be included within that amount. In addition, when questioned, they provided an example regarding cancellations, however, I've been timely and tip generously for service provided. | |I've enjoyed working with Mr. Handyman, however, as long as their policy is to charge a $60.00 service fee, I will no longer employ this company.

Description of Work: Submitted website "REQUEST FOR SERVICE" ...never called back. Called...left a message...never called back. After two days no response I simply used other providers locally. The "A" grade is to give the provider the benefit of the doubt (as I don't have their side of the story). It would not be fair to downgrade someone otherwise.
