Our 8 year old water heater bit the dust late Thursday night. On Friday morning called several plumbers but none could make it out to the house on that day. Finally took a risk on the funny sounding company. Yelp reviews were great. Angie's list reviews were ok. But I must say that the plumbers that turned up were professional. They honestly tried to fix the heater and said that the cost would be $300 to fix. Plumber recommended a new heater as we have had it repaired twice in the past 18 months. We agreed and they got the water heater and installed it the same day. So Monkey was very responsive. It is too soon to judge the long term quality of the workmanhsip but I feel confident that the job was done well.In

One of our galvanized water pipes burst on the evening of Christmas Day. The pipe in issue was underneath the house, which is built on a concrete slab. There is no ready access to the pipework. On December 26, we called one plumber we knew, who said that our floors would need to be jackhammered. Very messy. Joe Wachtel of Monkey Wrench, arriving at our home about an hour after calling him on Dec 26, suggested shutting down the galvanized pipework and installing copper piping running across the roof (we have no roof cavity). Genius. His team had it done in a couple of days - and it wasn't easy, as walls needed to be opened to find connecting pipes. Hurrah! Running water and operational toilets!! The patch work to the walls (great job) and other odds and ends were completed in January, with a missed external hose bib getting done for no labor charge (thanks, Joe). In a nutshell, Monkey Wrench provided a highly practical solution to what was a really awkward problem, and worked efficiently. No, it wasn't cheap, as it was a big job, but the fact that we are happy with the work notwithstanding the cost involved is testament to Monkey Wrench's professionalism.

I call to schedule an appointment and am told 8 AM to 10 AM is available the following day. At 10 AM, I call Monkey Wrench as no one has shown up. I am told that the service technician is finishing up and will be at my house in 20 minutes. No calls from Monkey Wrench or technician by 10:30 AM, so I call again. I am told that they are still working on the other job and won?t be done for an hour. Due to their poor showing so far, I ask what is the most realistic time they will show up and am told between 1:00 and !:30 PM and there is not another technician that can show up before that time. Monkey Wrench calls at 12:40 PM to say that the technician would be at my house in 25 minutes. The technician showed up at 1:30 PM. The technician walked me through everything he did and what he could do to solve my plumbing issues, he did well. So A for Service and F for scheduling. I am unsure if I will use again as scheduling is important to me and it is very easy for the service provider to inform customer on delays.

Heater wasn't working. They came, told me it just needed cleaning out, and then did so. It then worked fine.

I scheduled my appointment on Monday. They had an emergency job and couldn't come out and didn't let me know until 1:30 pm on a Friday. They could not provide me with a referral and could not schedule another time until Monday morning. Their suggestion was to let me go for three days without water (except for the toilet). They could not provide me with any other options. A company with good customer service that is wants to grow their client base would do what it takes to get to my house either tonight or first thing the next morning. Now, on a Friday afternoon, I have to call plumbers until I find someone to come out.

They did an excellent job. Through no fault of their own, another issue arose that had to addressed, but they were diligent about correcting the issue.

I liked their service, and their plumber was very knowledgeable. The only hitch was with their back office; they misplaced the check I sent them for payment which puts me in the predicament of having to cancel the original check and re-issue a new one.

Oddly enough, there weren't any issues with the water heater. It simply needed to be reset. The only minor issue was that they were behind schedule, but they phoned ahead to inform me.

Great overall experience. The first big sign for me is if the plumber actually answers the phone. Sometimes the plumber is not available - if they have a phone person that can field the call - that is a major plus for me. It says the company is organized and on top of their game. Monkey Wrench answered my call and fielded it to a technician quickly. They came out when they said they would and were able to assess the job quickly. Joe was a super nice guy and had a great sense of humor - always nice.

These guys are really committed to getting the job done and getting it done properly. We have a rather complex water heater installation in our condominium building - they knew what needed to be done to fix our problems with our entire system, which included the water heater, plumbing to and from the water heater, including two electrical pumps and various sensors and tanks. They handled the plumbing, the water heater, and the electrical complexities quite efficiently and did not use subcontractors. They came early in the morning and worked during the intense rainstorms we had in February 2011. They are very professional with a mindset toward customer service and dependability. I highly recommend them.
