Marcuson Tree Management

I'm way overdue on writing this review, but better late than never. Josh did a fantastic job - and with a Ph.D. in arboriculture, he was a font of knowledge. It's unfortunate he has so few reviews - it belies how truly satisfied we were with his work and if you have our experience, you'll be extremely pleased . Prior to contacting his company, I obtained several bids, as well as obtained info on the way they would have trimmed the trees. According to Josh (and my Internet research), the way they would have trimmed the trees would have weakened them - plus we would have lost the shading properties of the trees. We had a sap problem (that is thankfully getting better), which ran down like rain, and when he was up in one of the trees, he verified his suspicion; that a former tree trimmer (before we moved in) used cleats. He does not. I plan to have a tree house someday and will be contacting him to get started. Plus, I will always use him to trim our trees.

Professional, polite, and safety conscious. Our property has a lot of trees, which hadn't been trimmed in years and years. Josh gave us a day rate and a priority list, showed up early and literally started chipping away. On the taller trees (2 stories ++) he used ascenders and ropes to climb in to the branches for trimming -- difficult skilled work. He's an arborist who not only looks at what's right for your tree now, but as the tree grows. Be prepared for mini-botany lessons. He loves what he does. We were happy with his work and plan to use him again.

Can I give this company an A+? Don't let the low number of reviews fool you - this company is excellent (and I suspect there will be more positive reviews in the future). I received 3 bids, one much higher and one lower. The higher bidder charged me for the consult (never again!). Josh came out and gave a detailed explanation of the work to be performed - and WHY he was doing it the way he was. I felt completely confident in him from the start, especially since he has a professional degree. He did the work in the trees himself - with 3 assistants - promptly and efficiently. I told him about some landscaping we're about to do, and he sounded very concerned about the health of the trees. I called my landscaper that day, and he wasn't able to come by till later in the afternoon. Josh came back AFTER the crew left for the day to meet with the landscaper. The first thing the landscaper said was - and quot;excellent job. This guy knows what he's doing.and quot; Then they proceeded to have a discussion and based on the discussion, the landscaper has modified some of his plans to accommodate the health of the trees. He also told me later that he was impressed with Josh's knowledge and would also mention Josh to other clients. How can you beat that? I'm completely satisfied with their service and was so glad I found him.

They are excellent and their work is very good. He actually knows about trees and he is a trained arborist so he knows what he is doing when he trims trees. That makes a very big difference in terms of the results you get in terms of the health of your trees. So that is very impressive. He has a very nice team that he works with and they are all knowledgeable, nice and pleasant and friendly. He came and did a good job. The only thing that didn't go quite the way I had hoped was that he has a big chipper and shredder and he was going to chip and shred everything that he had pruned from my yard. So I could use it for something else but it so happened that the day he came it went out of order so he did bring me back a big load of it but wasn't the same I would get having my own. But he did the best he could. There may be small smaller jobs in the future but I would have someone else do that isn't as expensive. But if there are any big jobs, I would use them again.

They are highly knowledgable and professional. They are responsive and easy to work with. All the good things.
