Excellent work-VERY HAPPY!!
Description of Work: Embed review Edit review 5.0 star rating 10/1/2017 Mark is the true professional.I have undertaken many projects over the years and truly appreciate when I come across someone who really loves what they do.Mark was responsive in returning my initial call and gave me a fair and accurate quote. He began and finished the job on the days he promised. He made suggestions regarding the project since I was not set on what I wanted and his suggestions really made the project remarkable. My kitchen is absolutely beautiful-people walk in and say "wow".Mark is a perfectionist and my advice is if you have a special and/or unique project go with Mark -you will not be sorry-he will put in the extra time to make sure it is everything you want and more.I would not hesitate to use him again and to recommend to friends

I called 4 different companies for quotes. Mark called me back almost immediately and was able to come by my house the same day to look at the job site. I had a proposal within 24 hours. His quote wasn't the cheapest but I felt he would do the best job. The project took 4 days total. He did all the work himself. He was prompt (came when he said he would come) and very neat. He has a great eye for detail and I felt comfortable relying on his opinion when questions came up. My husband & I love the way the tile looks and will definitely call him for future tile projects.
Description of Work: We updated our guest bathroom (no change in the room footprint). Mark Rezaee, owner of LA Custom Tile, tiled our bathtub/shower enclosure and the bathrrom floor. Mark's price was $1400 and I spent additional money on tile.

Mark did a fantastic job. He very quickly removed and replaced 2 broken tiles on a shower wall without breaking or disturbing surrounding tiles. In the kitchen, I initially asked him to caulk around the kitchen sink where a gap had formed. He noticed the sink was not level, creating a large gap at the back of the sink that would continue to be a problem. He ended up lifting and reinforcing the sink from underneath and got rid of the big gap so it could be properly sealed. This was not an easy job and required him to squeeze himself into the kitchen sink cabinet, which he happily did. He was meticulous and really made sure the root of the problem was solved. He could have just caulked the gap and called it a day, but he went above and beyond to make sure the leak did not return. I will gladly hire him again when I need tile work of any kind!
Description of Work: Replaced 2 broken imported glazed tiles within a shower stall. Raised uneven kitchen sink from below to close a large gap where water leaks had occurred, caulked around kitchen sink.

Mark did a great job! He was one of the best contractors we worked with during our extensive home update before moving in. His tile work is really beautiful - we did a plain white with blue accent molding around the top and sides. I bought the tile myself and had some ideas about how I wanted it. Mark made some good suggestions, and did a very artistic re-tile all around the bathtub (floated on a cement backing, which is the best way to do it). He also put in a very pretty shampoo alcove for us. It came out looking very stylish. Also, Mark was very friendly, on time, kept us up to date on what was going on, and asked for input on things as they progressed. He also did a great job fixing a few spots in the floor tile - you could never tell where the damage was. Overall a great experience! We would definitely call him again if we redo the kitchen or put in another bathroom. He also gives a very fair price - I got 4 quotes, and his was the best.
Description of Work: Mark installed tile around our bathtub after it was ripped out for mold remediation. He also moved the shower height for us, fixed the drywall, and redid some of the floor tile that had been removed.

It went really well. Definitely one of the better contractors I've worked with. Mark is friendly, fair, communicative and easy to work with. His tile work is superb. Minor issues with the misc tasks were communicated and handled. There were no surprise fees or up charges of any sort.

Mark was the best contractor we have ever worked with. From the start he was very good with communication. He returned my call promptly. He made an appointment to come assess the work. He came out and was good about going through all of the details of the job. He was quick to turn around a quote and proposal of all the work to be performed. I met with three other contractors for this job and he was not only competitively priced but also the most professional and competent. We originally did not intend to have him do our plumbing work too, but when we decided we did not like the other plumber we had hired, we asked Mark if he knew anyone and he said that he could do it himself. After doing so much tile work over the years he learned how to also do plumbing and ended doing a fantastic job with that as well. He worked relatively quickly and did a very beautiful job with our tile. He always showed up on time and communicated well on the schedule. I wish Angie's List would let you post pictures so we could show you his work, but I guess you can visit his website. Mark paid attention to very small details and was good about giving us advice on what he recommended at all points. I could not be happier with our experience with Mark and I highly recommend him for doing any tile job that you may have. We have worked with and interviewed many other tile contractors and he is by far the best tile person we have ever come across.
Description of Work: We had Mark from LA Custom Tile tile the floor in our bathroom (~35 sq ft) as well as around the shower/tub (~100 sq ft). This included a tile inset in the wall to hold shampoo/soap, and a tile seat next to the tub. He did all the prep work (water proofing, cement mortar, etc.) and finishing work, grout, sealing the tile, etc. He (along with others who work for him) also did all of our plumbing work. This included running the pipes and installing rough-ins and fixtures for two shower heads, the tub faucet, the waste and overflow, and the vanity sink faucet and drain.

I was drawn to L.A. Custom Tile's listing on Angie's list because of the owner's self-description as a perfectionist as well as the positive reports. When Mark came to look at the second story master bath and discuss the project, he had great ideas and suggestions. When I suggested retaining the old built-in cabinetry, he made no bones about recommending against it because the room was so crooked and the entire room needed to be straightened out. Mark is energetic, friendly, and has broad experience in remodeling bathrooms, and I was impressed from the outset. He brought a portfolio that he showed me almost as an afterthought and after looking at photos of his other projects, I knew he was the right contractor to do this project. His tile work is unbelievable. From the photos, it was obvious that he is indeed a perfectionist. After discussing the project further, Mark submitted a detailed proposal that included demolition and removal of the existing bathroom fixtures, walls, flooring, windows, ceiling, etc., rebuilding the walls, floors and ceiling to be level, floating the floor, all electrical and plumbing, and all tile work. The original contract was for $15,000. Mark recommended several sources for the tiles as well as for plumbing fixtures. When I showed him a picture of a bathroom that I liked, he took me to a discount tile store that knew him well and which had the exact carrera marble tile featured in the photo. I received Mark's discount which brought the tile cost to roughly the same as I would have paid for premium white tile which was my original plan. After the demo work was done, we decided to raise the ceiling to make the room feel larger and to enlarge the shower by knocking out an adjacent wall and utilizing about a foot of an adjoining closet. We also added installation of a floor warming mat system, installation of stereo wiring and speakers and other details. We added lots of additional insulation behind every wall and in the ceiling. We agreed on adding $5,000 for all the add-ons. Mark's brother did all the rewiring and electrical work; the entire bathroom was rewired with additional outlets, new recessed lighting in shower and bathroom, and he did the construction work along with Mark. They installed new windows. They reinforced the newly leveled floor with wood and layers of cement below and above the heating mats. They rebuilt and reinforced the ceiling. Mark hired a painter to paint the bathroom and the adjacent closet. Mark did the plumbing which was done expertly. I purchased a free-standing tub (Victoria + Albert Ios) which required going through the downstairs ceiling under the tub to install the drainage system. When it came time to do the tiling, Mark displayed his artistic talent and patience to create perfectly smooth, tight, beautiful finished product. He arranged for a glass contractor to install the shower door and adjacent glass panel and I received Mark's discount. Mark does not accept kick-backs; he passes the savings to the client. He does not "nickle-dime" and was happy to take care of little handyman issues in the house along the way without charging. His aim is to make the client happy. Mark's motto is, "There are no problems, only solutions." Every day he informed us of the progress that was done that day, the time he would arrive the next day and what to expect. Communication was excellent and Mark made sure we were always "on the same page" so there were no surprises. He cleaned up every day and is a "neat freak" so we never had to deal with dust or mess from the construction. Mark did not take on any other projects during ours; he devoted his entire attention to ours until it was finished to our satisfaction. After the project was finished, Mark called every few days to make sure we were happy and there were no problems. The results are amazing. The bathroom is absolutely gorgeous! The tile work is absolute perfection. The bathroom is now the only room in the house that is level and plumb. I started out wanting a remodeled bathroom and I now have a true "spa" bathroom. I will be adding photos to this report soon.
Description of Work: Master bath remodel including demo to studs, raising of ceiling, enlarging bathroom, flooring, installation of new windows, intricate tiling, all plumbing, electrical, installation of all bathroom appliances, drywall, painting.

Mark Razee demoed to the studs, hauled away the debris, installed insulatation on exterior wall, floated cement along the walls, and retiled to the ceiling. It looks great. Mark is very enthusiastic, energetic, and a hard worker. The window created some issues as it was not possible to both inset the tile under the window frame and at the same time have the tile extend past the lip of the tub. Mark, understandibly voiced concerns about the window and retaining waterproofing around the window. The compromise was to use quarter round tile around the window.

Eric was at my home on three different days, one day to do an estimate, and two days to do the work. He arrived very promptly He brought some samples of various colors of grout to be sure he matched the original color, he did a good job on that. He's very pleasant to work with. It's important to make clear exactly what the job is so there are no misunderstanding

I have worked with contractors on many old and new houses but were fortunate indeed to have finally come across Mark. His work is impeccable,he shows up when promised, and his ideas for design were used continually. My bathrooms never looked so good! I was particularly impressed with his insistance on floating the floors and walls with mortar to achieve a level and plumb foundation. His experience is vast with marble, glass, porcelain, and ceramic materials. He even accompanied me to a tile store or two for ideas. Like his business card states he truly is a perfectionist.
Description of Work: L.A. Custom Tile was hired initially to install marble tile in a master bath. This included a custom shower stall, stand alone bathtub, wainscot and floor. This led to a second, third, and fourth bath using different materials. Followed by a kitchen and patio floor using porcelain tiles. All necessary demo work, foundation, hot mop, tile layout and installation was performed by Mark Rezaee or his subs.

I contacted the company to arrange a free estimate on the installation of glass tile surrounding my bathtub and in the front of the tub. The individual asked where Carson was in relation to Santa Monica and I gave a rough estimate. He called one or two days later indicating that he would have to charge $50 to come out and give me an otherwise free estimate.
Description of Work: I was not able to use this company because I refused to pay $50 for a free estimate based on the drive from Santa Monica, CA to Carson, CA (approximately 25 miles). I do not recall that the profile inidcated a limited service area either.

He did two bathrooms for us. One was a complete remodel right down to the studs. He was happy and joyful to be around everyday. He is an artist of the old school. Every tile he laid had to be perfect. The price was exactly what the contract stated it would be.
Description of Work: Mark Rezaee of LA Custom Tile, remodeled two bathrooms for us and we are thrilled with the job he did. The master bath, done in carrerra marble tile, looks amazing. IT IS CLEAR THAT MARK IS AN ARTIST. He demoed to the studs and did all the plumbing /drywall, etc. His bid was right on and very fair given the scope of the work. He was on time, scheduled subs in advance, and was impeccable about his work and our home. He was always upbeat and fun to have around as well.
