Description of Work: KM created plans to remodel our house, adding a second floor. The first phase was to create plans, clear any code hurdles and go far enough to get estimates from builders. Second phase will be to go all the way with all required documents and engineering drawings to get firm proposals. The first phase is now complete. | |We were very happy with the level of listening and truly understanding what is important to us. The first design was right on the money, a proof that KM listens well. We did not give them much detailed direction, but the time we spent together discussing what we like and don't like, gave KM enough insight to create what immediately felt like it was "ours".

Description of Work: Gina Moffitt is the principal of Kiyohara & Moffitt, and,in a word,is superb! Not only is she a first class architect and designer, she oversees every aspect of your project herself. Her sub-contractors are excellent and are very dependable. Their workmanship is terrific and Gina is on the site at least several times a week...just to make sure that everything is "up to snuff." This most recent project was remodeling a condo for us in Los Angeles. And everything went swimmingly in spite of a very tight schedule. There were cabinets that to be redesigned and replaced in the kitchen and baths,.. but still work with what was already there. In the living and dining rooms, all the moldings and baseboards had to be stripped off the walls, re-designed and installed. Archways had to be closed up and new walls created. The lighting in the living room and dining room had to be redesigned as we have a lot of art. Also, the lighting in the kitchen had be re-configured so that all the counter space in the kitchen was well-lit. The condo has 7 rooms and almost 1800 square feet. Gina selectedl the wall colors for all of the rooms. I wish you could see them. Gina is a "Scrooge"with "your" money. There is nothing she selects that isn't first quality...yet, there is no waste or disappointment. Gina plainly hates wasting money. Gina Moffitt has worked with us twice before -1999 & 1990 - remodeling our house on Ashcroft Avenue in West Hollywood and adding a front porch/pergola the following year. When the job was done, you could almost jump for joy, that's how satisfied and happy we were!
