I interviewed a few HVAC businesses for the duct replacement in my house, and JW Heating and Air was by far the most thorough, while NOT trying to upsell me on unnecessary additions. Ted came to my house and did a thorough job in examining it inside and out, agreeing that my HVAC and compressor units were fine, but detailing significant improvements in the duct work, and upgrading my thermostat to a modern wi-fi one. Also, the estimate was completely reasonable. The team led by Arturo came to my house on time on the appointed day, worked very quickly and cleanly, and Arturo explained to me and my wife exactly what was done and showed how our new thermostat worked, and gave tips for simple maintenance of our system ourselves. The complete replacement of all our ductwork took about 8 hours, everything was completely clean afterward, and now, our house is evenly cooled throughout in a more efficient way. Highly recommend.

I am very new, new in sense of getting service for AC, I have called 5 different AC Company on Angie?s List. This is the only company that will charge for estimate, an estimate for work to be done. I thought it was the norm for the fee, however call others, this is the only one. I guess there service and company is ?way? to busy for work.

JW worked with us to accommodate our busy schedule. They sent out a technician as soon as they could. They offered us an 11am to 3pm window. I told them my wife couldn't get home until almos 12. They said they would work with us. I really appreciate that. Anyway, the technician quickly found the problem and fixed as well as performing semi annual maintenance. AC was back and my wife and I slept well, and cool, that night.

Great. Juan, our technician, checked it out, identified the problem quickly, ran to the store to get the parts, and was done in an hour or so. Very satisfied. And my house isn't 90 degrees anymore! Got a discount because we are service members with JW. And to JW's credit, when the previous technician performed his last bi-yearly inspection, he recommended that I get the voltage regulator replaced. What malfunctioned and blew out the condenser fan? Yep, the voltage regulator. So get the service membership and follow their instructions!

Alex showed up on time and dove in, identifying and fixing the problem. He taught me something about our system that I had not known. I purchased the AngiesList service coupon upfront, which saved me $30.

It went perfectly well! JW Heating and Air, Inc sent an email with the name and photo of the technician who would be servicing my issue, Mark B. He arrived and went straight to work. I'm in a condo, and we have a number of unmarked AC units on the roof. He had to do a bit of detective work to locate mine. Once he did, he was quick to find the issue, which was basically dust clogging the vents. He had me stick my head in to see what he was seeing. He cleaned it up and showed me what it looked like clean. He advised me on good maintenance, and we were done. Quick, thorough and easy.

Couldn't be happier. First, JW arranged for an asbestos abatement comany to remove the asbestos from the air ducts, then the four JW technicians installed a new central air-conditioning system and replaced our old central heating furnace. The JW crew was courteous, completed the job professionally in less than two full days, tested the system, and paid attention to details (e.g. explained what they were doing, answered questions patiently, re-lit the gas pilots in the kitchen, etc.). Would definitely recommend to others.

It went very well. They were very good and easy to deal with. The workman was very good and professional.

The salesman, David, was very professional an explained the entire process in detail. He was able to answer all my questions. The crew lead by Jose was also very professional, courteous and punctual. The work was done to a very high standard and they were very good about cleaning up at the end of every day. JW's prices are on the higher end, but they are truly worth it. You get what you pay for in this case.

The people at JW were extremely helpful, professional, knowledgeable.and did great work. They were solicitous of my timing needs, ensured that I understood what they were going to do and why, they kept the work area clean and were very efficient in getting the work done. I would highly recommend them.

Although the work was not initially completed correctly, JW was proactive in making things right and I have recommended them to others. New AC system was to be wireless, but was not told until after the installation that the AC fan had to be disconnected to accommodate the wireless hook-up. Fortunately, when I informed them, JW was very responsive and sent out a technician and then a field supervisor to correct the problem. Although it took three visits after the initial installation to correct the problem, JW personnel were very helpful, (particularly Josh, the field supervisor) in explaining the issues and how they could resolve the problem to my satisfaction.

Our experience with JW Heating and Air began with their Sales Rep, Ruddy B. He was polite, considerate and knowledgeable. He answered our questions, made suggestions without the high pressure sales pitch one would expect from a salesperson. When we made the decision to replace our old heating and air unit there was a follow-up visit from Cesar C, who conducted a walk- thru of our home, photographing and measuring areas of old equipment, etc a week before day of install to be sure the install team knew what to expect and had what they needed to perform the work. The 3-persons install team (Jose M., Arturo G. and Gus P.) were as polite, considerate, knowledgeable and professional as the first JW rep we met. The job was completed on time with no up sales or extras. Our new system is functioning well thus far.

The service was fine. I paid an additional cost to the $69 Big Deal price. They were real quick. They could have done a follow-up.

This has been a terrible experience. ?Absolutely the worst. ?I feel more victimized because I believed the owner when he said he would take care of the issues they created. ?Do not trust him. As a form of background, I own multiple properties and businesses, so this is not someone who is in-experienced with HVAC, and complex HVAC. His employee who checked our drain pipe at our home pronounced it clean (it was completely clogged) and the NEXT DAY it overflowed causing $1000 in damage and requiring an emergency visit from another AC vendor since J&W refused to take responsibility. The owner visited me and talked me into a discount on a project to re-do our ductwork in our home to more evenly balance the airflow. ?I can't tell any substantial difference in the work. ?The house is neither better nor worse but my wallet is $2,500 lighter. After I complained again, the owner stressed that he was the best and that he would take care of me. ?When I was in a tough place at my office and I needed an AC quickly, he was available so I gave him a shot. ?No negotiation on cost, I paid his invoice (which, by the way was 30% more than my current provider who is leaps and bounds better). ?The installation went well and looked good, but when we powered it on, it turned out he had mis-sized the unit for the room, resulting in too much air pressure and noise. ?He had to do god-knows-what to try and rectify the situation, but years later it still does not work and now over heats after just a few hours. ?It is completely unacceptable. ?In addition, I've learned a lot about HVAC code and I've discovered many places where they did not do work to code, and actually endangered the integrity of my roof. Given this experience I tell you to not use these guys and actually double check everyone you see on Angie's list. ?I've had 3 terrible contractors from this website.

The JW Heating and Air crew were exceptional. Ted, our consultant, was professional, courteous and well informed. We looked into air conditioning a few years but with an old house, it wasn't possible. The products have changed and improved so we are glad we waited. Jesse, Adolfo and Miguel, our JW crew, were hardworking, knowledgeable and professional. They were terrific! There was supervision throughout the project. Each member of the crew was able to answer any of our questions. And they genuinely liked working together. We appreciated their hard work and enjoyed their company. JW Heating was the second most expensive company bid. And I definitely got the quality I paid for and then some. Their service is unbelievable and they back everything up with an extended warrantee. I was nervous about the complexity and scale of my rezone and major A/C upgrade, but it was handled beautifully. Dustin, my "sales" guy is much more than sales. His communication is world class. Does he ever sleep? :) And the techs are great. In particular, Joe is fantastic! He is extremely smart and knows a lot about everything, even non-HVAC, stuff so he the ultimate fixer. Basically, I should have Joe come through after each workman does something for me. :) Even within the company, when others say it's perfect, Joe will notice something and save everyone time and effort. He is also fantastic at explaining things in ways that I (the clueless customer) can understand, which allows me to make better decisions, AND puts my mind at ease. Invaluable guy to have on your team and working with you!! If you want the job done right, built to last, and service before during and *after* the job is done. Get the best value for your earned money and pick JW!

So, he left, after scheduling yet another service call with the company, for someone who would bring the proper refrigerant out. I called the company scheduler and said that whoever they sent out, it couldn't be that negative guy. So, they scheduled their service person named Mark, who came out, had a great attitude, checked things out, cleaned up the furnace a little more, then added a pound of refrigerant to top the system up, and we were good. All, in all... I liked the work and the service done... but I could have done without the wasted service call, which I was not charged for BTW, where the negative guy came out, and only cleaned after I provided the tools, and didn't have the proper refrigerant, even though the previous install team knew what kind of system I had. Mark, who eventually came out to service the upstairs system, and DID bring refrigerant with him (duh!), did a great job. And that negative cranky service guy... needs someone to tell him that he's in service... not sales.

I am very happy with JW Heating and Air Conditioning. JW stands at the top in terms of contractors I've worked with (and I've had my share of hellish experiences). The staff who worked on my job -- Oscar, Gary, Jesse, Mike, Adolfo, Cesar -- are truly terrific. They take pride in working professionally and having a happy customer. JW installed a new air conditioner and heater for me. I spoke with five other companies (most of them with high ratings on Angie's) before selecting JW. They really stood out from the rest in their professionalism and communication skills. I am highly impressed with how the entire process was handled and with all the staff I interacted with during the process. They are clearly experienced at what they do. The installers are also NATE certified, which is a sign that the company cares about its employees' skills. Everyone I interacted with was courteous. The installers took care to do the work neatly (from an aesthetic perspective) and to leave the job site clean. There was one issue -- relatively minor for me -- that perhaps could have been avoided. In the initial meeting to evaluate options for adding a/c to my central heating, Oscar (sales) told me that it would be an easy job, and that I would not need to replace my furnace to accommodate the a/c, which I was happy to hear, of course, since I had a quality working furnace and did not want to spend money to replace it, if I didn't have to. It turned out that the job was not easy nor could I keep my existing furnace. When Cesar (install) came to prepare a materials list prior to the installation, he thought that the space allotted for the furnace and a/c coil was too small to keep my existing furnace. So another meeting was required - this time with Oscar (sales) and Gary (install supervisor) - to work out how to configure the installation. I needed a new furnace after all, in a smaller size that would also allow space for the a/c coil, plus a custom hood/vent (?). All this required two days to install, instead of the one day I was told it would take. So clearly the initial evaluation of what was required and the expense involved was not correct. It helped that I had already met with five other companies. Three of them told me that I would be able to keep my existing furnace; two of them told me I would need to replace it to allow space for the a/c coil. So I was not totally unprepared for JW's final analysis that I needed to replace the furnace. The other five companies I spoke with were wildly different in what they told me, and I did not feel I was getting trustworthy information. But I was impressed with the professionalism of JW's staff, and I felt that it was an honest mis-evaluation. So I decided that this was the company I wanted to work with. Caveat: The system has not been run for any length of time, other than a fairly brief test of the heat and air after installation, as the weather has been neither hot enough or cold enough for me to need a/c or heat. I feel confident that JW will correct any problems should I encounter them after running the system for a period of time,

At the time of the remodel we had the platform, piping and wiring put in place to add a rooftop air conditioner in the future. Since we waited 20 years, we knew we would have to replace our old heater in order to accommodate a new central air conditioner. We called J W Heating and Air Conditioning based on the reviews on Angie’s List. We scheduled an appointment on the following Saturday. Oscar V. arrived on time and quickly evaluated our existing equipment and infrastructure. Oscar thoroughly explained our equipment options and possible contingencies. We chose the Lennox SL280V Gas Furnace and Lennox XC20 Air Conditioner. Our possible contingencies were itemized in the initial quote. (Possible addition of an electrical conduit to our main electrical panel if they couldn’t find the conduit to our subpanel and enlarging the condenser line.) Since the quote was less than what we anticipated, we signed. We didn’t get any other quotes. Two days later on Monday Josh, a project engineer, made a more thorough inspection and determined that neither contingency was required – saving us almost $2,000. Installation was scheduled for Wednesday. Meanwhile, Oscar V. e-mailed a change order removing the contingencies. The JW team arrived at exactly 7am on Wednesday and by 6pm we had new heat and air. There was a glitch, however. The rooftop thermostat lines that were put in place 20 years ago didn’t use the proper gage wire and the AC didn’t register on the control panel. Cesar C. returned the following Tuesday and within 2 hours had the new thermostat wiring in place at no extra charge to us. All JW employees wore booties on their shoes whenever they entered the house. Tarps were laid on the floor and they did a fantastic job cleaning up. JW took care of dealing with the city for permits and even filed for a rebate from Lennox. City permits were included in the cost.

Hi Jeff, Joshua was here this morning and took on the investigation of the 4:00 am wake up calls from our Lennox system. I am happy to report that he found a connection on the fan that needed adjustment and cushioning.As always, your team members are a positive reflection of you and your company. From the moment he arrived, put on his shoes covers, and started to explore the problem, I once again knew I was good hands. Hopefully the adjustments made today will solve the intermittent problem we were having.
