They showed up at the scheduled time and did an excellent job

Two years ago I used another tree service to trim 8 large trees on my property, including a redwood, white alder, jjacaranda, pittosporum, 2 ficus benjamina, 2 European sycamore, a ginkgo and a shamel ash. I was very satisfied and wrote a glowing report on this site. When I decided it was time to trim the trees again, a landscape architect recommended J&T Tree Co. He said, "They're not cheap but they're the best." I totally agree that they are the best - they did the most beautiful work on my trees that has ever been done. The price was about $300 more than I spent two years with another company but J&T did more work. In addition to the 8 trees on my property, they trimmed a neighbor's ficus tree that hangs over into my yard; this had not been done previously. So in my opinion their price is completely reasonable and yet their work is superior to what I have seen in the past. Not to denigrate the good work that was done by the previous tree trimming company I used, I NOW know what truly superb and artistic tree trimming is. J&T really cut back the trees but they are just beautiful now. Each one is balanced, laced throughout, and picture-perfect. What really impressed me is how they go about the work. They came with a large crew of men and a couple of them were on the ground to catch the falling branches so that they wouldn't crash into the ferns and shrubs and other trees below. They actually tied the fern fronds to protect them from any falling leaves. The last tree trimming company pretty much trashed my large ferns in the front yard from falling Sycamore branches. One of the workers climbed up onto a second story balcony (or leaped from the nearby tree?) in order to catch Jacaranda branches so that they wouldn't fall onto the balcony and potted plants situated there. Santiago and all of his men were professional and friendly. The clean-up job was excellent - also much better than other tree trimming companies I've used. I would never use another tree trimming company after seeing this work.

When we noticed a problem with two of our trees, we contacted J & T. As usual, Mr. Santiago came out to inspect the trees in person and advised us on what was needed. A written bid was submitted to us via mail. This was followed up by a phone call and a date and time for the work to be done was set. As always the crew showed up on time, got the job done and thoroughly cleaned up afterwards.
