HARPER TREE SERVICE

We had years & years of old growth among a stand of overgrown Birds of Paradise plants (really trees). Harper did a great job pruning a ton of dead growth and surgically removed some very tall trees that were in danger of coming down. Our yard has never looked better! Great work & very fair prices!

They did good work on the trees but there were other issues that will keep me from hiring them again... mostly it was lack of attention to detail. They dropped all the branches from the pear trees onto our brick patio and it left multiple dark stains all over. The owner, Lyle, told me they've never had a problem with pear tree sap before but my gardener told me it was the berries, and it was. In fact, the dark red berries were very visible and I was shocked that they didn't see that and didn't protect the bricks. They came back and tried to scrub off the stains but only bleached out the red bricks & the dark stains were still there. I had to hire a stone refinisher to bring the brick back and sent Harper the bill, which they paid. They also put a small dent in a new screen and destroyed one shrub but denied doing either one. They also broke an outside light that was attached to one of the trees but I didn't notice it until 2 weeks later. They seemed very anxious to leave and did the walk-through with me before they were done. And when I finally got the reimbursement check for the brick repair, they spelled my name wrong. If it were my company, I would have included an apology letter for the huge inconvenience of having to redo the brick patio and I would taken a moment to spell the name right. For the high prices they charge, their service is not good enough.

Harper Tree Service was knowledgeable and professional from start to finish. I have a 2 acre property that's bordered by trees on all sides. When we bought the house two years ago the trees needed pruning. We made the mistake of believing the lawn and leaf guys,(that were already in place when we bought the house) when they said they could do the pruning. They did a hack job! At the time I didn't know anything about tree pruning, but I knew it wasn't that! After much online self educating, I began to tackle the problem again. I called Harper Tree Service and scheduled an appointment for an estimate. They arrived on time and walked the property with me. It was apparent from the start that they knew exactly what they were doing. They were straight forward and friendly. They gave me the bid before they left and a general idea of their schedule and time frame. Although the bid was on the higher side, I followed my gut and hired them. They arrived on time at 7:30 this morning, and 9 hours later their gone, and my property looks amazing. It was worth every penny. Tree pruning is not something I would normally get excited about, or even notice. I can think of a million more fun ways to spend that money, but seeing first hand, the beautiful change a proper pruning makes has made me almost giddy. My trees look thoughtfully sculpted, not hacked. When it comes to trimming trees there's a big difference between men with tools and boys with chainsaws. You get what you pay for. Go with the men...

LYLE AND HIS CREW ARE ARTISTS. THEY HAVE TRIMMED HUGE EUCALYPTUS, JACARANDAS AND HEDGES AND THE TRIMMING NEVER LOOKS OBVIOUS--THE STRUCTURE OF THE TREES REMAIN. EVEN THE HEDGES LOOK AS IF THEY ARE GROWING WILD, AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN CUT. LYLE IS ON THE PRICEY SIDE BUT CANNOT BEGIN TO COMPARE TO OTHER TREE SERVICES. HIS CREWS ARE HARD WORKING, EFFICIENT AND CLEAN UP THOROUGHLY. HE IS A DELIGHT TO DO BUSINESS WITH AS WELL.
