Originally I had asked for an estimate and was told that estimate was free but there would be a service charge call of $95.00. When the workers arrived, they checked system and said that pipe was broken, and that one valve was bad. Work began and no estimate was given until I asked Jose for estimate and he quoted around $300.00. When work was completed I asked how they would like to be paid and I was told that I would be billed, not knowing how much I would be charged. The bill arrived by mail in the amount of $394.85. I called the office to discuss the bill and my concerns as to lack of estimate and the amount of time on the job. The time was reduced by 15 minutes per worker bringing amount to $350.00. I would strongly recommend getting an estimate in writing before any work or surprises show up in the mail. Also beware that it will cost you $95 whether or not any work is done.

These guys are great! They were able to schedule an appt that day. They fixed all the sprinkler heads and 3 leaks in 45 mins. Great - would have taken me days.

I got to know about them through Angie?s list. The person was here for just two minutes as there was not much of a problem. The person told me that he did not wish to charge me for it, but the accounts will definitely charge, and I did receive a bill for $95 for that. The person who came was very good.

We had a sprinkler head that was leaking, plus a few other heads were not working well. They do charge $75 to give an estimate. We hired them after hearing their evaluation. That day they changed the valves to copper ones, and set up a 2nd appointment to do the rest of the front lawn. Since they were repairing an existing system no permit was needed. Sprinkler heads were moved and more added to give the area better water coverage. We especially liked that the price quote was thorough and there were not any surprise increases tacked-on later.

They did a great job, although the cost was a bit higher than I expected: two guys working on an hourly rate (each) PLUS materials.

Obviously this family owned business is very hands-on. Young Ben Hammer arrived exactly on time and worked quickly at a non-stop pace, covered in mud for 3 and 1/2 hours. I followed him around as he worked, and often I think I was more in his way than anything else, but he just smiled and worked around me. He listened attentively to what I thought I needed, patiently answered all of my questions and made his professional recommendations, and then let me make the final decisions. When he finished, both my front yard and backyard sprinkler systems were working beautifully for the first time in 15 years. He checked water pressure and replaced my out-dated sprinkler heads to maximize coverage. He found and repaired two major breaks deep in slimy clay soil. He dug through bushes to locate all of the heads, replacing 30 heads total in both lawn and garden. (He used many different ones, based on their need.) He repaired the drip tubing to all of my pots and made sure that the entire systems were completely flushed. He patiently showed me how to set my timers, and how to run them manually if I needed to do so. Before he left he gave me as estimated charge based on all of the materials he used and his hourly labor charge. He said that an itemized bill would arrive in the mail. Approximately two weeks late an invoice arrived with almost the exact amount he quoted, and itemized appropriately. What I liked most about this entire service experience was that I paid for the exact materials and the exact amount of time it took to repair my sprinkler systems, and the material fee was not inflated: the sprinkler heads and PVC parts cost exactly the same at Home Depot. A few weeks earlier I had received an estimate from another plain white van "father/son" sprinkler repair service; one that was doing some work on my neighbor's house. They quoted me $1000.00 to repair ONLY the backyard system. Not only did this quote take all of two minutes to make, based on my simple statement that " it did not work," they also tried to convince me that they were going to do me a favor by "flushing out my system for free." It's best to use established, professional businesses like Hammer Company to get the best work and the fairest price for the service rendered.

Excellent. The service technicians were evidently experts in lawn sprinkler systems and did troubleshooting and repairs efficiently and effectively. The two technicians that were dispatched to my home worked well together and were very professional.

There is only one word to describe my experience - EXCELLENT!!!

They were professional, have very good knowledge about sprinklers and virtually everything that has to do with outdoor irrigation. For a long time I have known Steve Hammer who is the owner, not real well but he usually bids the job. He is about my age so we usually speak a lot when he comes around.

Not the cheapest in town, but first rate in service.

They were very thorough and professional. They were able to utilize a lot of the material that was already installed thereby saving me a great deal of money.

They were knowledgeable, professional and did a good job.

The work was scheduled for the day after my call. The workman arrived as scheduled and quickly repaired the sprinkler pipe that had been accidentally broken during removal of plants' roots. He then replaced the problem sprinkler heads with new and improved ones. We are pleased with everything.

They came out and said it was such an easy job they didn't charge me! They came out the same day I called them. Whenever they do come they are very nice and professional. I would never use anyone else.

Everything went perfect. They were very friendly when they came out. They were very punctual, they were here when they said they would be. I would use them again in the future.

They felt they didn't find the source of the leak so they only charged me the service call fee and not for the extra work they did. They did take the time to give me ideas on how to improve the sprinkler system and a rough estimate of what it would cost.

They were fine. It was more expensive than I thought it would be, but I don't remember the price.

Pedro took most of an afternoon to replace the broken sprinkler heads in the front yard. During this visit he also made an estimate of the remaining work needed to be done. On a subsequent visit, Jorge and his workmate performed the remaining work in the span of one day. Jorge was forthcoming with helpful suggestions for maintenance. They left everything cleaned up when the job was done. We were totally pleased by the expertise and helpfulness of everyone we dealt with, including the people in the office.

I called for price before and was told $85 for the first half hour (service charge basically) and $85 each hour after that, which was pretty pricey but I needed to get work done. Two guys showed up. They were done in an hour but I think one guy could have done the work in one hour as well. I was charged for an hour and a half plus an additional $65 for the second guy ($150 plus an hour for basic repair work, I don't think so). I complained that I didn't request or require two guys and was not quoted that amount before. They took the $65 off but I felt like they were trying to make it seem like there was something wrong with me for complaining. The work was acceptable but be careful about their billing. I would probably use them again until I find someone better (cheaper but competent) because there are no other sprinkler people on this list.

THEY'RE THE BEST IN LOS ANGELES. THEY RESPECTED MY HOUSE AND WERE CONCERNED AND DIDN'T DISREGARD MY CONCERNS AND ANXIETIES. THEY PERSONALIZED WHAT THEY WERE DOING.
