Geek Squad - Best Buy

The installer forgot to tie down the output hose and massive amounts of water leaked down into the level below, damaging custom cabinetry in a new wine cellar. It's now been two months and at least 5 people have come to look at it, and I've talked to a few people, but no resolution on the damage claim. Everybody who has come from the installation company has been amazed and disgusted by the negligence, but still no follow-up or resolution. Today got a call from an adjuster who said, someone had to come look at it. AGAIN! This is obviously contracted out first Best Buy to Pacific Sales, then Pacific Sales to some other installation company and as a result there is no accountabiliy whatsoever.

Started with a visit to Magnolia Showroom at Best Buy. They suggested I pay $100 to have an "in home" evaluation and estimate done. A great guy came and we went through the whole system and he made some very good suggestions. I was to expect his estimate within 48 hours. It came about a week later and I called with a few questions. NO RETURNED CALL AFTER 5 ATTEMPTS. I finally called the store and spoke to the Magnolia Manager. He claimed that somehow my estimate had never been transferred to their store and that the estimator is not the person to speak to. How could I have possibly known this. The manager went on to say that this had NEVER happened before and agreed to take $500 off my estimate. We further discussed the estimate and went to place the order, which couldn't be installed for over 5 weeks. THEY WANTED FULL PAYMENT PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. Somehow this couldn't be accomplished over the phone, so I had to trek back to the store. MORE FUN... I got to the store and waited for about 20 minutes to speak to the manager again. He promised no more hiccups. We started the payment process and somehow my order wouldn't process. After 15 minutes, they tell me the entire order had to be re-entered with a new order number. AGAIN, THEY CLAIMED THIS HAD NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. This re-entering took another 40 minutes. Somehow, I think someone else wanted credit for the sale. I paid and left the store. I had to make a trip to Las Vegas for work and 2 days after leaving the store I get a call. Somehow a number of accessory items had been left off my order.They asked me to give them my credit card information over the phone and it had to be done that day in order to keep my installation date. I politely declined and informed them that I needed to rethink the entire process. Upon returning from the Thanksgiving holiday, I went to the store and explained that I really had no faith in Magnolia and didn't want them installing a system that required wiring and in-wall/ceiling speakers, etc. The agreed to the re-fund and upon insisting, they also refunded my $100 estimate fee. I subsequently looked into other Home Theater companies on Angie's and am quite pleased thus far. It turns out that some of the things Magnolia was selling me, like a $179 TV Calibration fee, were bogus add ons. I should give these guys an F, but I did get my money back. I will NOT go back.

I will use them again in the future.

THEY HAD TO COME BACK TO CORRECT A COUPLE OF PROBLEMS THEY DIDN'T CORRECT THE FIRST TIME, BUT THEY GOT IT DONE. HE WAS FINE. THEIR PROFESSIONALISM WAS ADEQUATE.

ONE TIME SHOT. I USE BEST BUY FOR VARIOUS THINGS. THEY ARE OKAY AS FAR AS AN ELECTRONIC COMPANY. THEY ARE OKAY WITH DEALS AND SUCH. I CAN'T RAVE ABOUT THEM AND CAN'T SAY THAT THEY ARE BAD. THEY ARE YOUR AVERAGE COMPANY.

IT WAS AN A EXPERIENCE. I BROUGHT THE COMPUTER IN TO HAVE IT REPAIRED, AND THEY CALLED WHEN IT WAS TIME FOR ME TO COME AND PICK IT UP AND EXPLAINED THE WORK THAT WAS PERFORMED.

SERVICE WAS GREAT. THEY GOT US THE SAME EXACT ONE WITH NO QUESTION. THE NEW ONE HAS NO PROBLEMS.

I PICKED THE ONE I LIKED. I LOVE HOW THEY HAVE WARRANTIES ON THEIR PRODUCTS. MINE BROKE SO I GOT A NEW ONE FOR FREE CAUSE OF THE WARRANTY. THEY FIXED IT VERY FAST.

THEY HELPED ME TAKE MY PRODUCTS THAT I BOUGHT TO MY CAR,AND THEY WERE REALLY FAST WORKERS.

THEY INSTALLED MY RADIO AT A GOOD PRICE AND GOOD QUALITY.
