Excellent. Technician was friendly and courteous. He knew exactly what to do, had the right tools, and did an excellent job very quickly.

Overall, I was very satisfied. They were busy, so it took some time to schedule the work, but the issues were not urgent. I called Garafano Electric for an estimate in late December. They came out to provide an estimate within about 10 days. The work was scheduled on a date convenient for me, several weeks later. I needed them to come out for a follow-up visit on the faulty lighting circuit and they scheduled that very quickly. They were able to identify an intermittent problem with one of the circuits and came up with an effective solution. They also recommended a good wireless switch and came up with a clean way to install it without cutting into walls or the ceiling. They did the routine work - replacing outlets and switches - very efficiently. The pricing seemed very fair. I purchased the parts myself and provided them. They offered good options in a couple of situations where unexpected conditions were discovered. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

From start to finish Garafano Electric did a superb job. They came and assessed the problem, then made recommendations. The estimate was very reasonable and came through email promptly. We scheduled an appointment. It started on time, and they worked efficiently through the day. They left everything spotless and working perfectly I was extremely impressed and would hire them again in a second.

Awesome. William Martinez is a true professional, and it has taken me way to long to write this review. William and his team at Garafano Electric picked up the pieces left behind after we had a very bad breakup with a dishonest and incompetent general contractor. The wiring in our 8 office suite was about 1/3 installed when we fired the GC, with too many mistakes, shortcuts and misrepresentations to begin to describe. William came in, assessed the situation, helped us formulate a plan and a budget, then patiently stuck with us for the next several months while we worked through the build out. He was unfailing polite, patient and helpful. And we are not the easiest customers to deal with. He is a gentleman, a tireless worker, and an expert in his field. The build took longer than expected and there were many unforeseen hiccups. William was throughout the process, a fantastic contractor to deal with: fair, honest, and competent. Knowing him and a few other great contractors I met in the process, I feel confident in my own ability to manage a build like this again. He helped turn what had become an incredibly stressful and frustrating nightmare into a accomplishment we are enormously proud of. Garafano will be my first call electrical contractor for the foreseeable future.

Delighted! William explained process in detail. Fully discussed problems and solutions. Garafano team went to work immediately. William supervised installation, and walked through it with inspector. I needed hand-holding through process, and felt very comfortable with Garafano's handling of task beginning to end. Can-do outfit. Everything per-code. The technician arrived in time and quickly replaced the switch on my pool light, I then talked to him about my doorbell not working and he figured out quickly that it was not the wiring but the bell itself. He got s new one and replaced it right away, then we consulted him about some additional landscape lighting that we were considering, he gave excellent advice, and some resources to check out. .we never felt any pressure at all. He was so knowledgable, I will have no trouble using their services in future,

William tracked down a brocken plug that interrupted power to several rooms in our house.

He came pretty much on time. He was clearly knowledgeable, but more importantly he was able to clearly communicate what the issues were. He spent a lot of time explaining the various options, especially when the conversation evolved from inspection to potential improvements that would involve some re-wiring. He had very good demeanor and was both professional and courteous. I will likely have to perform some upgrades and I will most definitely be calling them for the job.

Garafano was very responsive. They provided detailed estimates, and services and equipment that were promised in a quality fashion. Their people are all polite and professional. I would not hesitate to call on them again.

Well, it was so far so good. They came out and grounded the estimate, and talk to me. That went well. They were done on time, came when they said they come, and finished up a little bit early. So far, everything seemed to be in order. It was just to be aware that ask about how much it might cost and be mindful that permits would be part of the bill.

William Martinez showed up on time to inspect for estimate - the guy exudes intelligence, education and experience, and is also thoughtful, kind and an excellent listener. He and his workers also showed up on time on the work day, and after showing them the jobs and how to do them, he left. Rene and his partner worked all day, past dark, and two others came in the middle of the job to drill and wire the 240v line, which required working in the cramped conditions of our crawlspace and drilling through the concrete floor of our garage. Everything went well except for the deck light - Rene found the previous electrician (or someone pretending to be one) had left another box inside the wall with loose wires, then installed the existing deck light and box on top of it. What should have been a very simple job ended up being a real hassle that took much longer than the estimate had accounted for, and left us with a hole in the wall considerably bigger than the new light required - but Garafano had made it clear on their estimate and verbally that they don't do patching and painting. But they also kept to the estimate cost - they made up the cost by not having to fix an outdoor outlet that had mysteriously stopped working - they found a switch in the kitchen that had been accidentally turned off (and that we didn't even know was there - duh). Anyway, my wife had lots of questions and is a close inspector, and Rene was patient and very nice about it, unlike way too many workmen we've encountered. William hires only certain kinds of people and then trains them well, plus he obviously sets a very good example. Frankly, of all the many, many service providers we've had here over the last several years, Garafano is hands-down the best - in quality of work and attentiveness to our needs and questions. It's a relief to know that we're not going to have to search for an electrician next time like we are a painter, plumber, hardscaper, irrigation, handyman, and whatever else.

I drove a spike through the electrical main line to the guest house. The wiring was damaged but I didn't know how much. They did a great job. Investigated and provided an estimate the same day I called and the estimate was quite reasonable. The estimate was based on worst case wiring replacement and labor, and could go down if some wiring could be salvaged as copper is expensive. If the labor went over the estimate the cost would not increase. Thoroughly stated was the danger that the wiring could not be pulled from the existing conduit, in which case an additional cost excavation would be needed, and we all hoped that would not be the case. The crew arrived the next morning and was polite and fast. They excavated the spot, determined only one of the lines was damaged and the rest were untouched. They pulled the wires out from the remainder of the run, fabricated a J-box assembly for the joints per code, pulled the undamaged wire with the new wire back through the conduit, and terminated everything correctly. I watched the process to make sure they didn't damage anything that would unnecessarily cause the additional excavation but they were very careful and thorough. They tested everything before re-energizing. The final bill was less than expected due to reduced copper needs and reduced labor. Most companies don't reduce the labor if it takes less time than anticipated, I was very impressed by this. I would unconditionally recommend Garafano Electric.

Came out right after a holiday weekend and tested a broken ceiling fan to see if it was fixable. It wasn't and he replaced it with a new one that I had already purchased. Took just over an hour and I was pleased with the service and price.

I "owe" Angie's List a lot of reviews, because I have used service providers that I have found from Angie's List and have not yet reviewed these providers. (I promise I will get around to reviewing them-- honest!) But to be honest, I do a lot more lurking than posting. The reason I am writing this particular review is because, among the people I have hired to do work, Garafano Electric heartily deserves the positive review that I am going to give it that I actually feel like I should let everybody else know. I originally asked Garafano Electric to give me an estimate of the work that I wanted done. After doing some shopping around, I settled on asking Garafano Electric to do the work. William arrived on time and prepared. He spent several hours on the job, quietly and efficiently. I presented him with an unexpected challenge that some people would have Basically, I wanted the power cord for the A/C-heating unit plugged into the power outlet, and going around the counter was possible, but unsightly. I needed a hole drilled through a counter (basically a board mounted to a wall). This would ordinarily not be an electrician's job; however, he simply considered it as part of what he would do to make sure my problem was solved. The work required an inspection from the City. Roger from Garafano came 15 minutes early to review the work before the inspector came so as to be prepared for the inspection. Everything that Garafano Electric did was above-board and of quality. Carly coordinated and communicated clearly and effectively. William communicated and accomplished his work effectively. Roger adroitly took care of the inspection. Now that their work is complete, I can without reservation recommend Garafano Electric to other Listers. I don't know necessarily how well they do competing on price-- they did in my particular situation-- but on every other aspect that Angie's List tries to measure-- quality, responsiveness, punctuality, and professionalism-- they performed admirably and far better than all other contractors that I have ever hired. It is that experience-- of feeling that I was genuinely being taken care of, instead of having to manage and worry about everything-- that moved me to write this positive review today.

I received an explanation of the work to be performed during the inspection process and a written bid. The work started on time as scheduled and completed with full success. The area where they worked was cleaned so that you would not know they had even worked in the areas.

William and his electricians did a great job at the house. The worked cleanly and minimized the number of holes created in the walls. The were prompt and the job went well. I highly recommend them to do your re-wiring. They completed my re-wire in approximately a week and then took a second week to complete my outdoor. As part of the outdoor part of the job, they had to trench about 50 ft. It turned out to be fairly difficult because they hit alot of tree roots and boulders. In addition, they accidently cut my irrigation system. I called William when I found it and they promptly came back and repaired it. Overall, I had about $600 in change orders to add some outdoor lighting that I hadn't considered when we established the contract. The charges were fair. I definitely would use them again.

William, Owner - Contractor gave me a 5% discount on the Labor because I found him through Angie's List. I feel like they charged me less for the material than it would typically cost. They were more than fair. Carlie, Receptionist, Dispatcher, Girl Friday - gave me immediate confidence in dealing with their firm. They were all very professional from the first Telephone call to the last. From the first "evaluation + Estimate visit" by William, to the work done by Roger. Terrific. They called me to tell me when he was on the way. He called me when he got to my driveway. The way they all handled everything helped me as a new Californian and not knowing anyone enough here to even get a recommendation - they made me feel at ease through the whole process. I spent alot of time reading reviews of various Contractors. I was GLAD to read the so-so reviews along with the excellent positive reviews. Gave me a realistic picture. To me Garafano Electric's positive reviews far outweighed any negative reviews. Also I could read into the more negative ones - the possibly unrealistic expectations of those particular reviewers. There were too many good ones to let the negative ones outweigh the positives. I took into account the large number of good reviews, the location of the Contractor - being within a reasonably close distance to me. I also took into account that their firm has been in business since 1968. The nicest thing of all was that William - called me the same day I had called their office and made arrangements to come by to evaluate my situation on the next day - which was a SATURDAY. They are closed on Saturdays and William worked all day Saturday - probably playing catch-up on jobs from the week. He fit me in at the end of a long workday Saturday and had Roger there by Monday July 1! They were all booked up the rest of the week after Monday, today, July 1, 2013! So I think they are really terrific because I won't have to suffer through the 4th in over 100 degree heat. I can now plug in my portable air conditioner safely because of their advice and their service. AGarafano Electric ROCKS!!

Worker arrived on time, was very professional and helpful. He asked if there was any other work that needed to be done beyond my original request and was happy to complete those tasks. Also gave me an estimate for a job that I will have done later.

I chose Garafano Electric because of the prompt and courteous way that William handled our initial meeting and tour of the job site. He responded quickly with a very reasonable estimate of charges, and promptly scheduled the work to begin. The representatives of Garafano Electric, who actually did the work, were Roger, Henry and Jose. They were always on time, very professional, and very knowledgeable. They always made it a point to explain what they were doing, and were very kind about answering my questions and concerns. At the beginning of the project, another electrician had installed quite a few recessed lights, several chandeliers, and did misc wiring. He had installed inappropriately sized recessed fixtures, and during his attempts to change out those fixtures, was caught smashing in the back of one, in order to make it fit into the existing space. He was terminated from the project, and Garafano was called in to finish the retrofitting. What they found was horrifying. Recessed lights that were not rated to be in contact with insulation were pushed directly into it. Cans were not secured, wiring was unsafe, and many of the recessed fixtures were found to be smashed to fit into place. Nearly all of the rest were improperly installed or were improper for the application. He had even failed to connect the ground wire at the breaker box! The Garafano crew found and corrected each and every problem created by the previous electrician, as well as other items that had not been properly addressed, or even addressed at all. The final cost of the job was nearly three times the intial estimate, but that was fine with me, because the problems that they corrected could easily have caused a fire, and may have resulted in injury or death to the home's occupants. I can't thank Garafano enough for correcting all of the problems that were hidden in the ceilings and walls, unseen and extremely dangerous. I highly recommend Garafano Electric, and will forever be thankful to them for doing an excellent job! Kudos to Garafano Electric, William, Roger, Henry and Jose!!!

Some providers make you wait hours before arriving. Garafeno called when they thought it was going to be a 15 minute delay, First Star They patiently described the work done and what could help in the future. They will definitively will be used for all future electrical needs.

William did what he said and said what he did. Job well done. Fare price. Overall good experience and will use them again for all my electric needs.
