Fernando's Complete Landscape & Hardscape

I ended up digging out the drip sprinkler system and putting in rocks.

Fernando, was very responsive, professional and knowledgeable in our initial meeting. I advised Fernando that I wanted the job done in 2 parts. Initial job was for hardscape and landscape for my back yard, planters around the trees. I have 2 big dogs and unfortunately the lack of water and dog activity had decimated my newly planted grass so I need to go with a more durable approach. Fernando took notes, gave me great ideas and then NEVER followed up with me. I emailed him pictures and texted him but never heard back. Very disappointing.

Fernando visited and offered a verbal estimate. He also promised an e-mail and some references. We never heard from him again, despite calling to remind him several times.

Great experience and great results! Communicated frequently through text and offered walkthroughs frequently (with flexible schedule). Completed work several days in advance of the deadline I originally asked for.

His price is in the market rate. He charges me $125 a month. He could improve on his responsiveness.

They did an amazing job - all the work was really high quality! Though we got behind schedule a bit (rain & materials delays + the flagstone took much longer than anticipated), Fernando did a great job of communicating with me frequently so I always knew where things stood with the project. The team also worked weekends to make up some time. In addition, Fernando helped problem solve as issues came up (as they do with any project!) and was able to flag things that I would have missed otherwise. All in all, I am so glad I chose to use Fernando's company for this project - not only did he offer competitive prices from other contractors, but he helped reduce stress for me in what could have otherwise been a monster project.

Fernando is extremely courteous, knowledgeable and professional. He was punctual when he came to give us an estimate, and followed up with the estimate and phone call. The only reason we didn't hire him was because of the price. But I would definitely consider him in the future.

It turns out that his recommendations for drip irrigation were completely inappropriate for watering ground cover and native plants gardens. Drip is appropriate for crops. It was my mistake not to verify, particularly given the cost, so I've been dealing with it. However, despite the fact that he insisted on replacing a brand new irrigation controller with a less sophisticated one, the drip lines do not appear to be working. I have called him multiple times to come by and check the lines. He's ignored every call.

I made an appointment for Monday. On the previous Saturday, he called to say he was running late for our appt I called him back to remind him our appt was for Mon. On Mon he was not there at the appointed time. When I called he seemed surprised that he had an appointment, so I gave up and cancelled.

It appeared to go "ok" with Fernando on January 19 who wanted to use the most top quality materials and he did not appear to want to use any grass seed but a more expensive option. Fernando spent time on our property measuring square footage and stated that he would send us a quote within 24-48 hrs. The quote did not come. My wife called him 4 days later and Fernando stated he would call with the quote that night. Today is January 26 and we have not heard from Fernando. It appears some of these reviews about Fernando not following up with some of his potential clients may be true. Fernando gave me the impression he only wants to use top quality expensive materials to uphold his reputation and his reviews on the internet. Fernando told me it is very important to him to get good reviews. I fully understand this,however,if you do not agree to only use his most expensive materials,Fernando is not interested in giving you a quote,instead he will spend time on your property looking around and trying to convince you to use his top/high quality products,then he tells you he will send you a quote but he does not. If you call Fernando and he answers,he tells you he will send the quote that night. The quote does not come and he does not follow up with you after coming to your property. Overall, a seemingly waste of time experience for everyone even including Fernando who would be best off simply telling potential customers he is not interested in doing the project rather than spending time on people's property walking around and seemingly measuring the property for a project he does not want to do anyways.

I called Fernando and spoke to him about my job. I have a huge yard and I needed a cleanup, a tree trim and mulching. He made an appointment and gave me a two hour window and never showed up or called.

I can't not believe I am the first to review! Fernando was a pleasure to work with. Extremely communicable and on time to our appointments. His team was respectful and thorough. When you call the company, Fernando answers the phone himself, so much better than dealing with call centers and answering machines! I highly recommend!

Fernando is professional and very responsive. A pleasure to work with and his crew is efficient, professional and work hard. He landscaped our front yard. Highly recommend and will use again when we are ready for phase 2.

I am moving into a new place and called him last week to schedule an appointment. I had to drive just to meet him. I waited for TWO HOURS and he never showed up! I have been messaging him and have heard nothing. Don't even risk trying to schedule something. I wasted my time.

Went well. Only complaint was that he forgot to trim one of the large flax plants and the cobbles on the side yard are not 2 inches deep as he indicated.

Fernando called back within half an hour of my message, on a weekend, and requested photos to provide a quicker estimate. I sent photos of the leaking sprinklers. He assessed the problem (correctly) as a broken valve and quoted the cost of the valve and installation charge. I've had valves replaced before, so I knew he was right on price. He came out the next morning, on time, and fixed the problem. I was at work, but my son told me that Fernando ALSO checked and adjusted all other sprinklers on the property before he left. That is when I was really impressed! He didn't have to, I didn't ask him to; but he spent the extra time and care to ensure that everything else was adjusted and working appropriately. Yes, I WILL call him again. I have a hillside of old inefficient sprinklers from 1960 that need replacement, and he'll get the job!

Lack of professionalism. I would rather Fernando had simply said the job was beyond his capabilities.

Came Saturday to look at yard and said he would contact us in 2 or 3 days with an estimate. I've texted him, left a voicemail, and wrote him twice via angieslist. Never heard back from him. I just wish that he hadn't wasted our time and just told us upfront that he couldn't do the project.

Came over an hour late, was very nice when he arrived and was doing the measurements, but never sent us the estimate and didn't respond to my attempts to contact him to follow up. Not sure what happened, but disappointed.

I called Fernando after a few weeks after I removed 805 square feet of grass from my front lawn and parkway areas. He came out a couple days later to discuss the project and give an estimate. Fernando and his two-man team re-landscaped the lawn and parkway areas, which included building a small hill per my request. They installed an attractive flagstone walkway through the middle of the lawn area sunk into decomposed granite. They removed my old sprinklers and valves and installed a 3-zone Netafim drip irrigation system covering the entire front yard. They planted about 40 California native pants that I had purchased separately, finished with shredded wood mulch, and left the yard looking neat and clean. I liked the walkway so much I asked him if he had any additional flagstone material for some additional pathways in the garden areas. He had to buy more material but for just the price of the additional materials they laid down two nice looking pathways. They have such good taste with the arrangement of the flagstones that I am glad I did not try to do that myself. Before he left he made sure I knew how to operate the irrigation system and knew how it was laid out. The entire project took 3.5 days. I definitely recommend Fernando and will use these guys again if I get the chance.

I scheduled an appointment with Fernando for an estimate on Tuesday 8/11/15 and he never showed up! Did not even bother to call to tell me he would not be coming and did not return my call inquiring as to why he didn't show up. Would not recommend.

Just an FYI for anyone looking for service: I was looking for a company to do a one day job removing our front lawn. Even though it says that they service Burbank, when I contacted them I was told that they do not work in the Burbank area.

Fernando and his team were professional, creative and polite. I would use them again!
